Karanne absent mindedly casts her fishing line into a shimmering fish pool. Her golden eyes squint as the bright sunshine glitters off the surface of the water. Her thoughts turn to the event’s of the other night.
Different, why do I have to be so different? Why can’t I be satisfied with being a “normal†Troll as my relatives would like to see?
Aitana had picked up very quickly that I don’t speak proper Trollish. My natural Troll accent has faded over the years as I’ve spent more and more time away from my home in Durotar. It doesn’t help at all that I’ve studied tailoring and alchemy in Silvermoon City. The Blood Elfs are known for their perfect diction (and hair)…and this has obviously influenced my speech patterns more than I had realized.
My choice to follow the way of the Light and not of the Shadow also sets me apart. Troll Shadow Priests are some of the most feared opponents on the battlefields of Azeroth. The ways of the Shadow Priest have never been mine to follow. I am a healer, a giver of life, supporter of my friends. I’ll not change that.
I am relieved that the elders of Nyx are gracious enough to overlook my oddities. I appreciate their willingness to grant me a trial period to try to find my place.
I have much to learn. Lady Nyx, I’ve pledged myself to her service…but who is she? Why does she exist in the shadows? Was I impetuous in my decision?
There is much for me to think upon.
