Dibbuk and the "Maelstrom"

Postby Dibbuk » Sun Dec 27, 2009 2:28 pm

The hussel and bussel of merchants, warriors, and the like went on as normal in the mage city of Dalaran. Dibbuk was going about his business stepping into the portal to Shattrath City to do his daily chores on the netherwing Ledge. Upon stepping through the portal and ending up in Shattrath, he got this strange feeling about him. He brushes it off since teleportation can make one queezy and he hadn't had a drink yet. As he haggled with Nutral about the cost of his flight to the Sanctum of the Stars, he overheard a few people talking in hushed tones. He could barely hear what they were saying but it was something about a teleport matrix in the upper eye of the outlands that was causing some odd occurances when people attempted to teleport. He figured it was just rumors brought up over drinks when someone had a little too much Rumsey Rum.nnAfter doing his numerous jobs on The Ledge, he figured he could take some time to do one of his favorite things and have a drink while watching the sky circulate over the ledge. He cleared out all of the riff raff around the highest point of the ledge, took his boots off, dismissed his dragon and used a mixture of his cape and shoes as a pillow and took a long-awaited nap. He woke up in a frenzy, remembering he had to be at the Ebon Hold. He opened a Death Gate and proceeded to hop through. When he emerged not in Ebon Hold but in some smokey, dead environment. nnDibbuk took in his surroundings, smelling the air, putting his ear to the ground. He smell nothing. He heard nothing. He walked around, trying to get his bearings when he encountered a mirror. He looked into the mirror only to find out that it was not a normal reflective mirror. "What the.." he said, touching the mirror. The mirror lit up! Purple runes and frames started filling the screen type device. He recognized the runes, but from where? "My...my teachers! Thalassian. This is all in Thalassian." Dibbuk then begins to rummage through his backback, finding one of the only things left over from before his current state of undeath. A dictionary he was given by one of his druid trainers.nnHe deciphered most of the runes and understood the mirror to be a sort of scrying device. He could see anyone and the state of everything that goes on in the outside world. For hours he searched for any clue to where he could possibly be. He accidentally pressed a different rune than the one he meant and found he could indeed make contact. He informed one of his guildmates of what had happened and that he would not be around until he can get this fixed and figure out how he can get out of wherever he was. nnDibbuk is still waiting in the dimension he had been thrust into, waiting for someone to figure out how to get him the hell out of that god-forsaken, lonely abyss that he has grown to refer to as the Marlstrom, named after the backwards tornadoes in the seas of Azeroth that suck up ships into their dark depths. He constantly yells. "I there anyone out there?"
