Troll Counting System

Postby Sahnjin » Fri Oct 10, 2008 12:25 pm

I mentioned this in last night's Mag raid, but in case you troll lore enthusiasts wanted something to discuss, I made up a neat little counting system for trolls (and rationale why its base-10).

Trolls Can Count?

I'd definitely appreciate feedback, if you have any.

That's really cool! Suspicious doesn't have too many occasions where she needs to count, but I'll use this for reference if she does.

I talked with Jemmali at length about the troll counting system. She pointed out to me that not only where there ten days in the 10 Days of Darkness, there is also the matter of fingers and toes. Between their hands and feet, they have ten fingers and toes - 6 fingers and 4 toes. She has a rather elaborate way of doing computation using all ten of her digits. I was amazed as she asked me to quiz her on the how much a quantity of Briarthorn was selling for a specific price. The auctioneers confirmed her answers were indeed correct. I think I might be able to learn it as well since I too have the same number of digits.
