Farewell, Nyx, farewell

Postby xoott » Mon Mar 01, 2010 8:24 pm

Xoott puts on a simple white dress, blows off the candles in her hut, walks out into the dark leaving nothing behind but a short letter which sits quietly on the table, addressed to Tribe Nyx.nnShortly after the sun rises, a man walks into Xoott's hut, as he couldn't find her presence as expected, or any sign of anybody even lives here, he picks up the letter, and opens it hastily as he realizes something might be wrong. nn'Dear Tribe Nyx, family and friends, nnIt has been one of the most wonderful experiences getting to know you all. I have learnt much from you, I have enjoyed your company, I have matured, and I have fallen in love. For all that, I am eternally grateful. As a result, this is one of the most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. But I have decided to leave. I need some time to myself. nnPlease forgive me.n'

Dearest Xoott,nnI do not know what has happened to cause you to come to this pass. What ever has brought you to this cross roads, know that you are loved, very much. And will be missed most sorely. Your voice has brought a breath of fresh air to the Tribe.nnI shall leave a candle burning in the Inn at the Legerdemain Lodge, so that you may find your way back to us, if you are ever able to come home. We will all be waiting with open arms.

It has been 1 troll month since Xoott left Tribe Nyx. "Time flies", Xoott talks to self, "hope he is well..." Moments later, Xoott leaves her place and pays a visit to her new friend Motarshoosh. nn"please make sure to leave no trace behind. i not ready to see him again." Xoott takes out a small neatly sealed envelope from her bag, and hands it over to Motarshoosh.n"no need to worry, pretty, i am pro." nnXoott smiles at her friend, bows, and leaves. Only, she does not realize, the local blue ink she uses will be more than enough for that old wise troll man to find what he's been looking for...

Warburn having returned from his most recent mission, just finished a short water pipe break in the guild hall. He steps out, checking his mail box on the way. A single sheet of parchment lies folded within.nnThe note is from xoott, it reads:nnDear Mr. SmoketusknI hope all is well. I feel terrible for leaving without saying goodbye in person, but i believe you understand how hard it was for me. And i just needed to be alone as i shall not burden you, or fellow Nyxers. You have been my teacher, my family, and for that i am really grateful you know.nI know i shall not expect you to have only one woman but I have come to see you as my man... it was so hard for me, as I felt I was betraying Zoott. I not only felt so guilty for his death but also felt unable to breathe as I will never be able to talk to him, and explain my betrayal. So I had to run away.nnPlease understand. I am really grateful to you, and I really wish the best for you.nnFarewell my lord,nnXoott.nnWarburn's heart started to ache. He had been trying to forget about this disappointment. He invested a lot of time and care into finding the best tutors, tomes and training for the young troll mage. But more then that... They had spent a few nights together. Her cheery face brought a lightness to his heart that he was getting addicted to. And for her to suddenly up and leave, left a sour taste in his mouth. He knew she was very upset after hearing the news that her childhood lover. Zoott, was never found and feared dead. Warburn he hoped his affection and guidance would be enough to keep Xoott near. nnScratching some grime off a tusk, he re-reads the letter. Noticing the nice hand writing strokes were made with a crude, feather pen... dipped in blue ink. His desire to find her suddenly peaks. And once he becomes aware of this increased desire he questions it. nn"dis blue ink...."nnThinking back to his time on Kalimdor, he tries to think of what plants or animals can be used to make such an ink. Flustered he decides to visit the Grand Master Inscriptionist in Orgrimmar. The troll scribe scans the letter, holds it to the light, turns it at various angles, lays it on a table and examines it some more. Finally he grins slyly at the old shaman and begins to speak.nn"Come lookie 'ere mon." Handing Warburn a glass optic to peer through. n"Jah see dose yellow dots, mixed in wit some bluish hairs?"nnWarburn nods.nn"Dis ink be made wit de flowah's of desert corn. Dah Corn-flowah's... dose mean anyting to yah, mon?"nnWarburn thinks for a while, and then he remembers. nnNot waiting for an answer, the Master Scribe continues. "Yah mon, it's dat blue flowah which trolls 'ave always symbolized wit romance.... no mattah what dis lettah says. Dis choice of ink says much mo den de words on de page."nn"I'z tink I bettah go look fo 'er." The Elder Shaman says thinking aloud.nn"Jah no need tah look mon, de only place dis flowah grow at dis time of year is near me home town of Shadowsprey, mon."nn...nnNot long after, Warburn was on a Wyvern heading west.

Aitana strode quickly in to Lah's office, and did not even glance at the papers spread before the elder blood elf.nn"Lah, Warburn took off. And he did not say a word. Do you have any idea what is going on?"nnAsarelah's insight in to what transpired with the Tribe was legendary and Aitana's query did not surprise the priestess. Shaking her head no, she immediately reached for her hearthstone, and rather than speak in to it, sent forth a silent casting of her powerful mind vision to scry out what Smoketusk might be about. Aitana watched calmly, knowing full well what her protégé was doing, and waited patiently for Lah to glean what she could, and report.nnLah’s eyes were clouded as her mind sought to merge with that of the elder troll. And merge she did. In to a maelstrom of tormented thoughts, of lost love and anguish, and a fierce determination to reclaim what he most cherished and held dear.nnShaking her head clear of the merge, Lah looked directly in to Aitana’s eyes, and smiled. “It’s all right, Boss. He’s gone after Xoott. And about bloody time!!”

As usual, Xoott wakes up early, takes a long hot bath, puts on some simple comfy clothes, and prepares a hearty breakfast for herself. She likes her routine. It makes everything predictable, and makes her feel safe. However, little does she know, this seemingly usual day will end up being one of the most memorable days in her life...

'Xoott, Xoott, ...., I saw, I saw, a girl who looks exactly like you, i mean like exactly... like...right....twins!'. Motarshoosh runs into Xoott's hut, totally out of breath. n'what? where?'n'just outside the inn, i saw her came out of there. At first I thought it was you, but her hair is different. I wanted to go talk to her, but her bear looked pretty scary... oh man, i wish you were there, you guys totally look the same, i mean, except for the hair. And... you are more friendly... by a lot actually...' Motarshoosh chuckles with a blush on his cheeks.n'and she ran off?' n'yes, she took a flight. she seemed in a hurry... are you ok?' Motarshoosh looks slightly concerned as he sees Xoott's face turning paler and paler.nXoott's heart starts to ache,'is that her? could that be her?' Xoott thinks to self.n'what is going on? Xoott. You scaring me!'nXoott looks at her friend, takes a deep breath, tries her best to calm down.n'Mot, I haven't told you this... I... have a twin sister... My parents told me, my birth mother gave us away when we were one.
