To Prepare for War
It was unclear how he had arrived here. An alchemist, deafened by the drums of war.nnYes, certain assignments doled out by the Royal Apothecary Society had previously put Yyrkroon in harms way, but this seemed more meaningful. More imminent. More... tacit.nnSo as Yyrkroon held up his new Nyx tabard, examining it in the fading light of Brill, he wondered how he would react to his new role. Did his still chest contain the heart of a warrior? Was a simple Forsaken human, the son of a seamstress and a librarian, cut from the cloth necessary to carry forward the Nyx banner on the battlefield?nnYyrkroon secretly was in no hurry to find out. But with each day he was closer to his 20th season, and closer to being forced into contested lands, fraught with his new enemies.nnYyrkroon set down the tabard, and wandered to the alchemists table. There, as other Forsaken wandered in carrying vials of Darkhound Blood, he mixed reagents, and half heartedly scribbled notes.nnTaking the fight to the Scourge was one thing. He could do that from behind a magic burner and crystallized vials. Taking the fight to the Alliance will likely prove to be quite different.nnHe must dwell on this. The fight is coming quickly.

Re: To Prepare for War
Aitana was relieved to be out of Undercity after talking business with Master Apothecary Faranell. The smell of the Forsaken city was still as repugnant as ever, but at least the abominations were gone now. Even though she could have taken a couple moments to check her mail there, she waited until she could breath fresh air in Brill to find a mailbox. In the town an familiar tabard on an unfamiliar Forsaken caught her eye. nn"Greetings and welcome to the tribe. I do not believe we have met. I am called Aitana."nnThe Forsaken seemed startled to find a massive female Tauren speaking to him, but he recovered quickly enough for introductions. It did not take long for the discussion to turn to matters of alchemy and its applications in battles with the Alliance. Aitana showed him her recipe book and pointed out some particularly useful ones like invisibility potions, camouflage elixirs, free action potions, and living action potions. She also pulled out her cookbook and showed him a recipe for blackened warg steak that would allow him to spot approaching enemies before they could attack. He seemed pleased at what alchemy had to offer. The only question that remained was whether he was strong enough to use them yet.

Yyrkroon thanked Aitana as warmly as any Forsaken might thank a Tauren, and poured over the notes he took from their conversation.nnHe glanced up, and wondered aloud... "Now, where to get these wonderful reagents...."

<quietly aside> Thulcondar... I couldn't agree more. I long for the day when the Scourge is beaten back, and we can end this marriage of convenience. In the meantime, I shall assist and be assisted by The Others as it is directed by The Society, and by our Beloved Lady Sylvanas.

nn<in harsh whispers> Yes indeed. There will come a time when all these "Horde" races regret their treatment of us and Lady Sylvanas! I tolerate them for now.Yyrkroon wrote:<quietly aside> Thulcondar... I couldn't agree more. I long for the day when the Scourge is beaten back, and we can end this marriage of convenience. Re: To Prepare for War
Yyrkroon settles into a dusty chair and reflects on what he saw on the outskirts of Brill last evening.nnA fierce battle that began and ended faster than he was even able to get his staff off of his back. They must've rode in from The Bulwark, decimating the weak defenses there, and then on to Brill, where their ghastly work began.nnFortunately, there were plenty of Horde egg seekers milling about, and the invaders were quickly dispatched. Perhaps a bright side to this otherwise preposterous celebration of Noblegarden.nnHowever, it was obvious to Yyrkroon that his reflexes are not sharp, and he must learn to be more aware of his surroundings at all times. It will only be a few weeks before his assignments near the Sepulcher, and some remaining work outside the Blood Elf city of Silvermoon are complete.nnThe time for learning and practice is now. Once he moves on to Tarren Mills, it might already be too late.
