Return to Azshara

Postby Warburn » Sun Mar 15, 2009 10:43 pm

Warburn Smoketusk looked up from the message he was reading. Eyesore's carrier owl sat on his shoulder and followed his gaze. From Dalaran, the world below looked tranquil, almost perfect. But nothing was perfect. His squint turned into a frown. But slowly the frown dissipated and the peaceful look he was come to be known by returned. No point in dwelling on the unknown, action was needed.

Asarelah had signs bound to her. Dark blood runes, the message said. These runes, Eyesore and Warburn might have both seen before. Years ago, when they had gone out on an excavation project in Azshara to seek out some clues to the origins of their exalted and feared Lady Nyx.

Eyesore found an ancient Highborne structure which was warded with a powerful magic trap. His hunter skills failed to save him from springing the trap and entrapping him in the shadow plane for months. Fortunately Warburn and a few friends were able to save him in time.

Warburn had to dispel some runes in order to free Eyesore from his paralysis. These might or might not be the same thing, but they had to be sure.

The note however warned of increased alliance patrols in Kalimdor, especially everywhere between Orgrimmar and Auberdine. No doubt as a result of Nyx's trespassing into Darkshore a fortnight ago. In which case the Nyx would need back up.

Asarelah's ears perked up, and she leaned hard in to the whispers on the wind, picking apart their teasing carresses past her ear to see what she might learn.

An alliance threat, their presence increased, her Tribe in danger.....

She put aside the message she had been penning to Bael'spar, and moved toward her battle gear quickly. "I shall let no call to arms go unanswered!" she told the wind as she strode to join the fight.

In the calm reaches of Sholazar basin, the hunter Tasera laid. Arms crossed casually behind her head. Her crimson troll eyes peered to the clouds, trying to pick out familiar shapes within them. Yet, suddenly, something caught her attention. A whisper carried by the winds.

The troll leaned forward and turned, looking back at her Bronze companion, Orzumu. The dragon's reptilian eyes peered down at her, "You heard it too, Tasera?"

She nodded at him, "Yes, an I be tinkin' we be neeadin' as much help as we can get."

"So you plan to go into battle I take?" The dragon asked calmly.

Tasera pulled her quiver of arrows over her shoulders, and drew in her bow, "O'Course bruddah, would yahs expect anyting else outta me?"

The drake of the bronze flight seemed to smile just the slightest as he prepared to take his friend to battle.

Tasera arrived at the guild library on time. In the light of the Blood Gems she could see that the Elder Shaman and Aitana Arch Druidess were waiting for her. They smiled at the young troll huntress and whispered to the light gems to grow brighter over the table. Tasera brought what they had asked for and did not waste any time pulling the scrolls from their ivory casings and laid them on the table.

The rubbings were hastily done, but were quite clear depictions of the runes which littered the ruins of Zin Azshari.
