Moved again.. and has somehow become electronically detached

Ok, so we've moved again about two weeks ago, and a few things have happened since the move.
1. We moved the modem and router to the living room, thus making a wired connection a royal pain, and where I do have the length of cable to reach my computer in the bedroom, I haven't set it up because we always have children over and the wire would be a tripping hazard(to myself too!). Waiting to get a Wireless N adapter, probably a pci over usb.. gotta wait till next month though..
2. The electricity going to the wall socket in our room thats closest to the desktop has a short, and because of it, I haven't set it up yet.
3. Game time for my account has run out since 4/20. No money till next month for a new card.

Whats worse is I went down to the dog beach (which is 3 blocks away) with our dog and was getting him accustomed to the water and all, and it wasn't until I was running around the beach about 30 min later when I realized.. my cell phone, car keys, and a wireless usb I borrowed from a friend were in my pocket. Cell's dead, keys work, and usb.. not quite sure yet.. /sigh

So yeah... no texting and twittering.. no inets, except when I'm able to use the laptop(rarely).. such the weirdest feeling right now.. My wife and friends hate it cause they can't call/text me. Been using the 360 a bit.. playing Eternal Sonata right now..

So two things are up... kinda... got my computer with electricity and all, and got that usb adapter that got wet working... sorta... Its like a perma-rollercoaster with the connection speed... going from 1mbps to 54, and back to 1 in less than 3 min... I'm going to have to search for a decent pci wireless card. Any suggestions?

Well, starting to get a more stable connection.. but funny thing is... I get a faster connection off the Ubuntu 9.04 live cd(15 to 30 seconds from bootup; Windows: 10-30 min)... freakin' 2007 windows driver.. >.< lol

Well, I have to wait now till all my checks clear before thinking about getting a gamecard/subscription started up. ::crosses fingers::
