Because the Absence

Postby Terpsicore » Sun Jan 20, 2008 10:19 pm

Well ive been absent bout a month or may be more cuz exams at college and later my laptop has a problem and well i hope this end this week meanwhile i request a lil update on what has been going on on nyx and our partner guilds, and most important

i feel kinda sad cuz well dunno if is true but i feel like we have plenty of tanks now and i would be more usefull as healer but well this is the most important matter i would like to discus, for the guild benefit (i like both to tank and heal) in the actual situation of nyx i should keep as tank or go healer.

and well as i like to know from those who played with me tanking, how is my skill

i cannot wait till i can come back and bow my sword to the services of lady nyx again

"Plenty of tanks" is a relative thing. A bare minimum number of tanks we need right now is 4, 2 for each run. We need at least 6 so we can have people to alternate and substitute when somebody can't make a run or wants to take a break.

We also need healers. If you enjoy healing, we would love to have you heal too. We need a bare miniumum of 6 healers and 10 or so would be better.

That is just for running Kara. Then there are heroics and other instances. Eventually we will want to run places like Gruul's Lair and Zul'Aman. We also want to go back and run the old world instances for fun. If we only have the bare minimum number of tanks in the guild, we will probably burn them out.

Our friends from Pack Spirit, The Sacred Hunt, Pariah and Howlitzer help, but at some point they will also be hosting runs, and there will be still more need for tanks and healers. I also hear that ret pallies have improved and there have been occasions where we have been short of DPS. The most important thing is for you to pick the spec you enjoy playing. We look forward to having you back :D

Hi Terpsicore! I never got to run with you, but I have missed your friendly presence in guild chat. I'm glad we'll be seeing you more soon.

Kara has been going well for us. We have been raiding on Friday and Saturday nights, having recently added a late night run. I went from playing my mage to focusing on my druid because we needed tanks. I think Aitana's right, we can never have too many tanks.

At the same time, some practical details... If we have Barefoot and Linkan regularly tanking the early runs (7/8PM), it might be better for you to do healing if you want to go to those. So far Breitan, Shaya and Aitana have been doing healing, but I think the later run is more convenient for Aitana so there should be a spot there for you. We don't have any paladin healers at present and I have to say I love paladin healers. If you are interested in the later run (11PM/12AM), I think they need a tank more since they have only Gorehorn. I hope this info is somewhat helpful for you.

Then you must consider regular 5 man groups. Right now I play a tank and my partner is a healer, so I don't have a good sense of which is in more demand for the general public. Anyone care to weigh in on that?

I'm generally asked to tank more than heal, not that I heal that well. So, if you still like tanking, then tank away! There is a definite need.
