Re: A New Roleplaying Initiative
Oh, and I agree that rp of any tone should be encouraged. IC, we are a tribal warband that follows a dark goddess of sorts. and If any of the tribe's activities or demeanor disturb the tribe in general or go against our tribal rules, I imagine it would be dealt with. That said, the kind of characters that would serve an entity like Nyx could run a large spectrum I would think, from gentle natured Druids to bloodthirsty killers, necromancers and war driven orcs. We are all adults here, we can handle it. *winks*

Re: A New Roleplaying Initiative
I think we've got enough support and attention now to proceed with the next phase of this initiative.nnThe feedback you've given is all really helpful and enlightening, and I certainly want to incorporate a lot of what we're doing into guild-workshops on Role-playing. Right now, though, what we're trying to cover are the basics for those not particularly acquainted with role playing, i.e. people outside the of our Tribe.nnTo give you a clearer idea of how these "Seminars" would go, I've created a basic project outline.nnEvent Name: Emerald Dream's Role-Playing SeminarsnHosted by: Members of the Tribe of NyxnWhen: Peak server hours (accounting for raid times), 3-4 days a week. Once or twice a day.nWhere: Razor Hill, the Crossroads, Near the Zeppelin Towers of Tirisfal Glades, the Thunder Bluff Marketplace, and the Gates of Silvermoon City.nParticipants required: 3-5 performers/hosts, Perhaps a small security detail for the crossroads.nResources: giveaway items for role-play (interesting costume pieces, campfire wood, small slot bags)n Prizes for participation (Potions, non-combat pets, larger bags)nnStep 1: Announce on general/yell channels the time, location, and nature of the event. "Seminar teaching players new and old how to role-play and showing them why they should."nnStep 2: Gather the audience, announce the purpose of the event, give a short explanation of what role-playing is and why people do it.nnStep 3: Perform a small skit showing players role-playing in common situations. Asking to join a group, asking a mage for water, warning a player of marauding alliance gankers, etc.nnStep 4: Relate some helpful tips for role-playing, take questions, and thank the audience. (possibly hand out give aways). Remain in the area for 5-10 minutes for optional segment on character developmentnnStep 5: Give a shorter, additional segment giving players tips about building a character background, answering additional questions. Send interested players in-game letters with links to lists of server rp-guilds, rp-addons and wow-wiki articles related to their class and race's lore.nnTotal Event time: 20-35 minutes.nnSo, who'd like to participate? I need at least 2 other people to perform the skits and help answer additional questions, as well as suggestions and donations for giveaways and prizes. Once I can get the participants all together, we can start talking about writing skits and scripting the additional information, as well as scheduling times.

Re: A New Roleplaying Initiative
((nncurious, assuming that this is for the benefit of players outside the guild, is it for an audience of all levels, beginner levels?nnhm *nods* i tend to be a bookworm for rpg's & the lore of them, how to act in/ out of character, etiquette, speech/ linguistics of fantasy talk without ties to mundanada (contemporary life, as i like to coin it :} ), & the like. i would volunteer, but it would depend on seeing official times/ schedules posted. once the times are fleshed further, i would be in a better position to know what i can do to help schedule wise.nngood idea though, ED could definitely benefit & ideally all the servers as well.

Honestly I think this is just another good way to get a large group of naked people dancing in one area.nnIf they don't already like the idea of RP, chances are they're not going to.

Re: A New Roleplaying Initiative
Okay, now that things are a bit less hectic, I've had a chance to figure out the server's peak hours.nnso, we need to schedule events between 5-10pm, three days a week. I'm thinking that next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday could be really good times to host these events.nnFor each of these, I'm available to start advertising the event in zones at 6pm and get the event under way as late as 630pm. Those interested can list their availability by day.nnAdditionally, I need to start writing the scripts for these skits. If anybody wants to help with that, again, feel free to volunteer. We also need ideas for giveaways and prizes, and donations for both of those

*Swanthula lowers the bowl full of frog venom brew from her mouth, smacking her lips with the delight of it's intoxicating effects*nnMmm, I sit and I wait. Many moons ago now I gave my opinions about dis initiative. My words went unaddressed. No worries from me, but I wait in anticipation to see what will come.nn*takes another swig, finishing the bowl of brew*
