PVP and You! *as transcribed from Dracmorda*

1. RESILIENCE. The main difference between PVP and PVE gear is resilience. Resilience is the bread and butter PvP stat. Resilience is a character attribute that reduces the chance to receive critical strikes or spell critical strikes, reduces the effect of mana drain spells, reduces the damage taken from critical strikes and spell critical strikes, and reduces the damage taken from players overall. IT IS SUPER IMPORTANT for pvp and is the only thing that will keep you alive. PVE gear has no res. on it, and all pvp gear has some. Now, how do you get this marvelous gear?nn2. GETTING GEAR. There are two ways to get PVP gear- battlegrounds or Arenas. Battlegrounds give you "honor points" used to purchase gear (you get this from participating in Battlegrounds and you get more from winning them) and arenas give you "arena points" (the currency used to purchase even better pvp gear). To get a basic set of PVP gear, I would suggest grinding honor in battlegrounds. Just entering and participating in these will give you honor, and winning them will give you even more. The first "random" one you enter a day gives you extra honor (you can join this by choosing "random" on your pvp tab) and I think a few arena points as well which is always useful. nnEach PVP item of gear can be purchased from a vendor in a house in Orgrimaar. There are a few vendors there, but most of them just sell outdated pvp stuff from pre-wrath arenas, so ignore them. The two you want to be concerned with are the ones that sell RELENTLESS gear and WRATHFUL gear. These are the two highest level PVP gear sets you can have at this time. Most likely you'll want to shoot for your main pieces (shoulder, chest, legs, helmet) to be RELENTLESS and your accesories to be WRATHFUL (belt, rings, trinkets, etc.). WRATHFUL is the highest, but you can't buy WRATHFUL main pieces with anything other than arena points, so you want the next best thing which is RELENTLESS. Each piece will run you about 50K honor, so get ready to grind a ton of BG's- it can suck unless you really love pvp. You know the game is designed that way to make you have to play like it's a full time job or be a failure at it, but alas, I digress (lol). Anyhow, while you can't buy your main pieces in WRATHFUL, you can buy your accesories from that set with honor, so by the end, you will have your main pieces at second best level, and your accesories at first best, which is great. I am not even going to touch arenas in this message because it will implode your head with too much info, we will save that for when you feel you are ready!nnOh and PS, you can also buy Relentless gear with Frost Badges (yes, PVE earned badges I know it makes no sense) from a vendor right inside ICC if you have the extra badges. nn3. SPECS. Like in PVE, there are pre designated ways to spend and arrange your talent points for pvp, and certian attribute numbers you want to hit to be the best. Now there are a few variations on what people think are the best, but I'll let you decide what you like. Here is a link to a page where you can read about the basic PVP specs- follow one of these guides and you'll be good. http://www.wowwiki.com/Hunter_buildsnn4. ATTRIBUTES TO SHOOT FOR. How much hit, agility, etc. should you be aiming for (ie: gemming for in your shiney new gear)? Check this out, it will tell you: http://www.wowwiki.com/Hunter_PvP_guidenn4.5. HOW TO KILL, ETC. Reading the above guide has a lot of helpful tips about pvp basics. Read it over and get back to me if you have any questions. nnThis is just the basics, and is nowhere near everything you need to know, but it is a good starting point to get you in the right direction, and honestly is probably more than most tools who aimlessly dick around in BG's know. I would suggest talking to Stodesgier and seeing if he can't hook you up with a good PVP hunter from the crew that can tell you specifics (and tell him I told you to ask him!). Nerds love to share thier knowledge, so don't be intimidated by talking to people from the crew, despite the fact that most of them are foul mouthed, offensive pricks.
