Hacked x_x But it's all better! Sorta.

This morning I got an email on my phone saying that Phédre's server transfer is pending. Say what?? I hopped on my computer and lo and behold, I can't log in. After a frantic call to customer service, they managed to cancel the transfer and take control of the account. While no gold or items were taken/deleted (and I was assured by a friend that they never actually logged into the game since I logged off last night), they did manage to damage me in one way - they race changed her! To blood elf male. Ack. Whoever hacked me was intending to play, apparently. Blizz said they couldn't do anything about the race change since it's already been paid for (and I'd have to wait 3 days anyway), all I could do is buy another race change, and, well, I've got bills to pay. So I'm going to try and not be picky and play my now male blood elf...however Blizz was kind enough to flag me for a rename so I could at least give him a male name (which is Imri). I got the authenticator so this will never happen again.nnAnyway, I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I just wanted to put this up in case anyone was confused about the character. (And if you didn't know me, which is possible because I'm still pretty new, no worries!) I'm still going to be playing the same and RPing. Just Phédre is no more, she is now "Imri". If this affects me somehow in the guild, please let me know. nnThanks guys!

Grrrrrrrr. I got hacked about 2 weeks ago too. Sorry to hear it. At the very least, you have your toon and all your gear. Big Bad Karma to the guily one!! And on Halloween!!!!!!!!!!

Did you two have authenticators? Or are the hackers getting so good, they get through that too ?

@Swan: Sorry to hear you got hacked as well. I'm grateful that none of my stuff was taken or anything. Yeah it's a bit annoying that I'm a BE boy, but I don't mind it that much. I'll take it over my toon being xferred to who knows where.nn@Myyah: I did not have an authenticator, but I just ordered one after that ordeal. I got hacked back in May, and I did not have an authenticator. I had stopped playing a few months prior and had cancelled my accounts. I turned on the account and played one evening, logged off about midnight or so. When I tried to log in the next day it asked for my authenticator code.nnI contacted Blizzard immediately and they froze the account, changed the password, and took off the authenticator. I didn't log back in until I got an authenticator. When I got back in I found that the hacker had deleted all characters below level 80 and had been using my miners and herbalists to gather. He was using my alchemists to transmute. My bank was FULL of titanium bars and titansteel, plus about 10K gold. Over the next few weeks I would get emails from level 1 characters with 5K gold or so and stacks of titanium and saronite bars. I ended up with 30K gold or so before it stopped.nnI reported everything, but Blizzard never took back any of the gold. The only permanent "damage" I ended up with was the hacker playing some arenas with one of my rogues. I've never been in any arena on any of my characters, but one of my rogues is showing that he has.
