May be waiting at one of the many local Gamestops that might be hosting a midnight launch.nnJust something down in the rumormill I haven't bothered trying--> Is it true you can pre-download Cata even w/o buying the digi-DL? I hear you edit something in the WTF to get this done? Anyone try this?

I'm thinking I'll preorder and pick it up at lunch on the 7th. I can't bring myself to take a day off from work in the middle of the week without another reason - I have already requested 12/10, off though, so I'll stay up late playing 12/9 and enjoy playing through a long weekend.

Only I dont have one.nnMe, I took the week off starting Tuesday and THEN blizz went and said oh no, its going live on the servers at x time all round the world so you can't have your game before then.nnWhat this means:nI have to drive into town an hour before release my time (7pm Tuesday 7th) wait around to pick it up, then drive home again which is another hour or so depending on the queue at EB Games, then install, then play. nnI really hate blizzard right now.

I've got the collector's edition on pre-order with Best Buy. I'm trying to figure out if it's going to be here in time for Dec 7 launch.

nnGood luck... when I preordered the hard copy of Wrath, it came at about 6 pm on launch day, when all of my buddies had had it since early that morning...nnI will be preordering it in a week, and on the 6th, i will sleep all day so I can be up all night Then I will be picking up Archeology and going back and forth between leveling Thoka and levelling archeology...nnOm nom nom

Okay here is how I understand it....nYou have more options this time around:n1) If you opt to buy the physical game box from a local store or Amazon (etc), once you get it you'll have downloading and installing to do and then should be able to play. Figure a couple of hours from when you get home with it.nn2) A new option is to buy the digital download from Blizzard. This will pre-load and install the game content and unlock it at midnight on 12/7 (pacific time), so it is playable at 12:01 am on 12/7. Collector Editions are not available via digital download.nnAs I recall from the last two expansions, playing was very smooth once it went live. There were glitches later like certain quests or instance servers, but right at midnight the game was definitely playable though of course it was crazy with people very excited. The new zones are very crowded at the beginning but quests are mostly doable (there's always one or two that get bugged).nnYou should definitely be able to play on 12/7, beginning at 0001 AM Pacific --0300 Eastern
