Foot race

Postby Thomasbecket » Sat Jun 20, 2009 3:45 pm

Does anyone have any interest in having a footrace? Each of us starts at one end of the old-world continents and has to race to middle - no mounts, no speed buffs, run-enhancing items, etc? Say, for a modest wager of 5 or 10 g or, actually, any sort of non-monetary bet would work, too. Anything goes if you're hit by allies but otherwise just running.

It could be a guild event or a one-on-one thing - just something I thought up. Reply if you're interested!

Sounds like fun. I already have a requested venue for Guild Night this week, but there is no early Raid scheduled for Saturday.. perhas we could do it in the early evening ??

At any rate, count me in 8)

Ah, priest v. priest. Among history's bloodiest contests! Excellent! "Early" evening is sometimes an issue for me because I need to get the little shadowfiend in bed before I commit to anything solid (which includes raids, etc), but she's usually down by 9 pm EST.

Let's see if anyone else cares to join otherwise I look forward to a one-on-one race with my Class Leader!

Really want to make it even, make it fair, make it, uh, interesting?

Pick another server, create a new character, all the same race, all nakid, keep them level one.

Like from Stormwind to Booty Bay

Duratar to Gadgatzan

Silvermoon to Hope's Chaple

Also, could have everyone start with a shrink effect and if you finish with it, you get a bonus.

In any event, have fun!!

A herd of Tauren? A bevy of blood elves? A pack of orcs or trolls? A graveyard of newly undead? Oooo, that could be fun!

I'm voting for naked Taurens, and that we do it on Moon Guard US-RP/PVE.

Thomas, this is your baby, so to speak. Hope you are ok with the suggestion, as it seems to work. If you don't use level one, then even talents can affect the outcome. If you don't change servers, then those players with all ten spots filled up have no room to create a newbie.

So, if you are still interested, how about nakid taurens in thunder bluff on Moon Guard (US) RP/PvE? Pick the destination for this Azerothian Running of the Bulls, and mayhap use Lah's suggested time of early evening on Saturday? If you pick a city like Gadgatzen, the hazards will ensure that several deaths along the way keep it interesting. I suspect that either Aitana or Asarelah would be glad to add it to the calendar, perhaps even the guild message of the day. All anyone has to do is create a new tauren and be ready to go, no buffs, no leveling beyond what getting exp for discovering zones might award, whatever else you think of...

Yeah the more I've thought about it, the less sense it makes for 80's to do it - even without gear, it's literally just running from one end of the map to the other at this point, since nothing in the old world can realistically take us down, other than Alliance players. I also hadn't thought about people having all their ED slots filled - I just cannibalized all but 2 alts the other week, so it didn't occur to me that others might have all their slots filled.

Let me peruse the Az map today and I'll post some suggested finish lines. If we run through the timbermaws, the race could last months! Just saying.

Anyone have any thoughts on a fun prize?

Just mentioning this real quick. I suggested Moon Guard because it's a HEAVY RP server and a herd of naked taurens stampeding would likely scare the crap out of the inhabitants, which sounds fun. However, it's NOT a PVP server. I don't know what you had in mind, but if you want the allies to be able to kill us as well, instead of just the mobs, then perhaps Deatheroc/Illidan/Kel'Thuzad would be better choices, since they are PVP and have an astronomical amount of alliance players.

Or Twisting Nether since it is an RP-PvP server.
