Golden Age is right, tho it's more because we have so many great players doing so many fun activities together - as a guild.

We are one of the top 10 best geared guild on our server. However we are far behind as a raiding guild. Our PVE score is low, and we're ranked 13,000+ in the US. We're progressing tho, our real strength is in our guild activities and social environment. So let's keep doing what we're doing. Because we're definitely doing it right.

Thank you to all those that have made this possible! Without your leadership Nyx would be just some run of the mill guild. Thank you to all the members who bring that awesome attitude to the guild which gives Nyx a very unique flavour!

What Warburn said.. We aren't anywhere near top 10 for PVE raiding. It's our gear score that's top 10, since we have so many well geared people in the guild (I do believe PVP gear counts for gearscore too, and nobody should be raiding in anything that has "Gladiator's" in the name).

Wowjutsu.com has us listed at 30th for Horde only, and 64th server-wide for PVE progression. How would we be top 10? We don't clear normal Ulduar, let alone Heroic + hard modes. Hell, some weeks we struggle with H-Naxx.

With that said, we do EXTREMELY well for a casual raiding guild.. Most casual guilds don't even get to set foot into Ulduar. The Hardcore guilds that clear this stuff every week have strict rules like: people get raid kicked for messing up, or gkicked for missing a raid, etc. Personally, I hate those guilds, as they suck all the fun out of raiding and turn WoW into a second job. I wouldn't trade the way we do it for the world. We WILL eventually clear Ulduar.. Icecrown or the next expansion might be out by the time we do, but we'll do it, which is more than I can say for most.

I've been in progression guilds before: The first one I joined (Classic-era) turned me off because of their elitism. I also rolled on another server at that time. Over one year later, I joined a progression guild that was casual in its feel but had a rigorous raiding schedule that very nearly consumed me. Both guilds used DKP, which is more of a loot treadmill. This guild has been the best for me in raiding: I like the nights and most of the times and we don't have a loot treadmill. We also don't have a rigorous raiding schedule that requires everyone to raid. I like the voluntary sign-up policy.

We are still having some growing pains: PuGging some for 25-man raids. Additionally, I would like to see us continue to focus on what makes us a wonderful guild in the first place: RPers first, raiders and/or PvPers second.

I have been in this guild for over 3 years now.
I joined when Warburn was lvl 5, and was one of the first 20 members. At lvl 44 I became an officer when the founders first turned 60. I was here when we "progressed" and got Hakkar on farm, and were getting deep into AQ20 (eventually clearing it before BC launched), and did MC in a raiding partnership with another guild.

We have had a few "golden ages" (as well as a couple of dark ages) - but this time around it's the best. In the past year and a half, Tomoyo, Aitana and I have made VERY SURE that we only promote officers that will be active and GOOD. I have to agree with Mehtahz that we have succeeded. And this golden age is by FAR the best and most... well... GOLDEN! And would not be possible if it weren't for all of you and especially the officers who work their ass off for the collective enjoyment.

I wonder if my i-level 159 wand is single-handedly bringing down our gear score. :(

Drop stupid wands! DROP!
