character portraits

Postby Valrin Ollistar » Wed Aug 05, 2009 6:33 pm

i know that i'm new to the guild and have yet to be graced with all your prescenses but i figured it was time to get active on the site. not only that- i decided while i'm at it i may as well share a talent with my kinsman. you see, i am an artist out-of-game and though i'm nowhere near the best i can still have my creative slumps. a creativity block if you will.
so what i'm saying is...

i'd like to draw your character, if you'll have it.

i know that lots of players both rp and pvp take pride in the person they have, or wish, to become in-game and i'm also aware that blizzard doesn't quite do an amazing job of depicting your character in the best of ways. so here i am, ready to draw up your beloved character to the best of my ability. (i wish i had a sample to show you at the moment but, as i've said, art has become more of a light hobby in the past few months, but that's where you come in)

so if you're up for it and have faith in my unseen ability please pst me either by email or as a reply to this post.

pst must include:
a facing, side, and back view of your character in the gear you would like him depicted

a breif description of your character as best you can and his/her personality

anything else you'd like me to know about said character or anything else you would like me to put in the drawing.

e-mail address for me to send the finished artwork.

please take note that what i may come up with may not be EXACTLY what you'd enjoy from your character and, no, it will not be just your character standing there (unless you want it that way) but i'll do the best i can on giving you what you want. it is your character after all.

This sounds awesome, and you are awesome for offering to do this. I'll see what I can come up with as far as screenshots go.

ok... these are actually pretty bad but tis all i could come up with. the first is actually a full body character portrait i'm workin on for one of my own. the second is merely an artwork i did in an art class last year and never finished because some daft boyo "accidentally" spilt water on it, explaining the smudgy design. i managed to save it however but was not able to color in the background at the time- the paper of poor quality and quite thin as napkin. but i rant... anyway it was taken with a friend's camera and i tried to brighten them a bit for your viewing pleasure. I will post the finished product of Allister (the first) when it's completed and filled (colored).

The second one reminded me of an old 4th edition Magic: The Gathering Card. I can't remember the name of it off hand, but awesome artwork! :)
