God Bless America! Yes, our founding fathers set out to make and to do what's right for this country. That is primarily to uphold the constitution and protect it from those that seek to abuse the freedoms for so many years the brave had fought for.

God Bless this president. Because god forbid, any American that does not have an oucne of respect for any president that served the greatest nation on Earth is by defintion not an American. *Parted stops him in his tracks. Yesterday, about the first half-hour to an hour was about the Constitution. Guess I can't complain because when I went to break, there was another class that used the entire 4 hours to cover the history of the Constitution. Its funny cause I'm going to a trade school.. but we got blue frosted donuts and popcorn...

My grandson is in the third grade, and has little patience for my efforts to explain his social studies content. It's a lot to grasp without context, that a people for the first time asserted self-governence. I plan to show him the Preamble video when he gets here after school Monday, it just might help. As to all those adults, who should know that WE the people ARE the government, and yet fear our government as if it is something apart, I suspect they still don't get it.

Strange that I should read this thread now, as I returned earlier today from taking a family group to visit the Nina and Pinta replicas, in port for ten days in Newport, KY, near here. The Nina is as exact a replica as is possible, while the Pinta is for an unexplained reason 50% bigger. It is sobering to stand on the Nina, a tiny caracel, and imagine the courage and fortitude it took to sale west on her namesake's small, crowded deck. It was even more sobering to wonder the outcome had the voyage met complete disaster.
