Pugging, horrors of the realms, and achievements
By the gods! What insane, criminal person even thinks to try for the bloody new dungeon system?! All right! I am daft enough to try the system for the sake of badges and runs. I admit that most of the groups I have been in were luck of the draw but...I am 41 individuals shy of the new achievement and pet but...anyone else have stories they care to share?nnI know I do but I want to hear from your own voices.

nnnMy hunter did a HoR run with a paladin tank who had trouble getting aggro....AOE aggro... >.>nnThe whole time I'm thinking to myself, Paladins aren't as easy as people make them out to be but damn Consecrate spam can't be too hard.Oneille wrote:By the gods! Re: Pugging, horrors of the realms, and achievements
Only had one experience with the thing so far, where the group booted me out on the final boss (locking me to the heroic), because they felt I "wasn't doing enough DPS". Fair enough that I'm on a netbook and lagging somewhat uue to a bad internet connection here in Costa Rica, but I did notice I was the only one in there who seemed to know how the boss fights worked, and actually did what I was supposed to do...nnI figure I'll be staying out of them until February, when I'm back in Australia with my desktop, and don't have to worry so much about lag.

I find that, especially on my alts, after one wipe 3 people will quit the group. in BFD we didn't even get to the first boss before people gave up. (not my rogues fault the tank pulled the whole room with the healer at half mana)

I have had good experiences so far. No problems, good groups, good runs.

I've had nothing but great experiences with the new system, especially on my alt. Of course, ever since 3.30a, I've been getting random dc's in instances (a problem I was working to repair last night, after trolling the wow forums). DC'ing healers aren't really helpful so I haven't done one in 2 days until I'm sure I've fixed the problem.

Re: Pugging, horrors of the realms, and achievements
I've generally had good experiences. A couple times, had folks quit (not dc, but quit), apparently because they felt they wouldn't get a chance at the gear they wanted/too much competition among plate-wearers or because what they wanted didn't drop off one of the bosses... I'm projecting on the second, but the group couldn't figure out another reason he might have left after we dropped the boss.nnI've only had one "LERN 2 PLAY, NUBS"/"this is my 5th 80"/e-peen competition.nnI've had good luck picking out the particular instances I'd like to hit, then heading out to do my dailies or farm mats - they're activities that aren't hampered by a sudden interruption to go hit ICC.nnAll of which is to say - happy so far

Had a great night last night via the random dungeon finder. Farmed a god number of badges and leveled my alt - not a single negative episode. Most of the time, the PUGs don't even speak in /chat - woo hoo!
