World PVP/RP Event

Greetings to the Denizens of Nyx,nnI hope this is the proper location for a request of this type. I am Backus, the guild leader for Kerberos. We are a late night casual raiding guild on the Alliance side. While the majority of our focus in the past few years has been on the pve side of Emerald Dream, I am looking to open the eyes of my guild-mates to some RP/World PVP adventures with select guilds on the Horde side. I have heard great things about Nyx, and have been working with Princess Ulua (absolutely a real treat to work with, especially once he realized I couldn't stay in character for longer than 3 sentences ;p.) in regards to setting up this event. I was asked to publish it here as well. nnHowever my lack of understanding of the RP side of World PvP requires I request your help in the setup and implementation of this project. My basic thought is to bring 10-20 guildees once a month into an adventure that yourself and ours work together to implement and further broaden our horizons. If this sounds like a venture you wish to undertake, than I wholeheartedly welcome your aid so that we might do battle with you in the future.nnThe biggest snag that we might foresee is the limitations on time that we are available. Kerberos is a late night guild. All of our events begin around Midnight server time. It's tough being the sole guardian of the gates of Hell at Midnight. I apologize for my lack of rp talk during this post, and I will apologize ahead of time for my lack of skill and knowledge of RP. My brother is the RP guy, and I simply came to this server to play with him. After being here for a few years and being a guild leader of the best casual raiding guild, I felt that we should do more things as a guild that would be fun and enjoyable. Thanks for your offer Backus. We are always interested in more RP-PvP partners. nnHow about, since you say you're new to RP-PvP, we get a story going and write in a role for your guild. We can suggest why you're there, where we fight, but it would be up to your Roleplayers to embellish and build upon.nnI was actually looking for a guild to do this with: we have an RP campaign at the moment which is meant to build up to the Cataclysm. It's starting with us feeling earthquakes and tremors through out the world. Suspecting Dwarvish mining explosives at work we have already infiltrated Iron Forge. A explosives delivary order we found will lead us to a Dawrvish excavation site, where I would like us to engage an allaince guild/s in battle. So in this example, why you are there is up to you (but it could be to stage a raid on a neighboring horde town, in search of something, or just a patrol, for example.)nnThis shouldn't be too complicated to organize. And as for the times, we tend to have a good amount of players online up until 2am ST. nnPlease PM me here on the forums how we can coordinate out of game. i.e. vent info, email, or IM address. And I'll get our RP officers and myself to contact you asap.nnRESPEKT!

Warburn,nnI appreciate your reply. However that might be a bit too intense for my guild's beginning foray into RP/WPvP. In the future, it sounds like a plan, but for the next 2-3 months I want to get them used to world pvp with an RP theme base. I will pass your thoughts onto our RP people in the guild and see what if they want to give it a go.

As am I my friend, my guild is slowly getting fired up about it. I have about 10 that are positive yes's and about 20 that are going to see if they can make it. I have no doubt that in the end I may end up with 20 plus people there with anyone over the 20 man mark simply there for observation, and to mock me any time I die. Being the guild master and regular trash talking healer, I got about 10 healers who love to beat me in healing ;p. Friendly competition is what it's all about. nnThe battle royale should be something epic.

well as far as Caer Darrow I just wanted it to be in a smaller zone, but ya Razor fen Kraul area is pretty cool. I think the location will be very important all other ideas are good to hear.nnnIm still have some more issues to work out such as avoiding turtles and scoring etc. Look forward to chatting it up, but we can do it on the forums as well

Thank you to all those who participated in the event.nnI keep running into you guys in BG's and WG. I had an epic battle with Swyagortha that resulted in us both dying in WSG. The cursed priest has gotten better. The fact that she chased me across the battle zone to do battle with me brought a smile to my face. I have also seen and done battle with the cursed shaman who blew us off the mountain, but faired much easier against them. ((Having a shaman main, I know exactly how to drop them quickly and avoid the freaking lava burst crits. A stunned shaman is a dead shaman))nnIt is good to have a worthy foe! Keep up the battling and the gearing. We take great pride in fighting you in many avenues of Battle. A great war that gave us a good feeling of valiant battle.nn((Obviously there were some minor glitches that need to be worked out from both our spots. I loved the RFD battlefield. But the run from each base was a bit long for just 20v20. I think it might have been too spread out for a first time venture. I will post more in the Cross Faciton discussion))
