OOC: I know most guilds use Ventrilo and according to a few posts Nyx is no Exception. I would like to offer an alternative to Ventrilo that costs nothing more than 5 or 6 minutes to sign up, install and run. I have a personal GSC server. GSC is a similair program to Ventrilo that offers In-game text chat as well as the current voice and out of game text chat. If you dont have a mic and want to use text chatting without exiting Warcraft then hit the Designated key, enter your text into a small box that appears on your screen and send it. Every user in the same channel will recieve a very small message box saying that that person sent a message and they Press Their designated key and read the message. n The server is absolutely Free, and I am willing to hand ofer Administrator rights to the MissNyx and any other Officer she deems appropriate. I have a guide on how to download, install and set up the server already to go on my computer from a previous Game that I used it on. The guide is short and I can easily post it here for everyone to see and use. With a few edits it will be good to go and make the job of installing much easier for anyone of any age. n This is a stand alone program and does not worth in sync with Ventrilo or Teamspeak. I merely offer this as an alternative to Ventrilo and help save whomever is paying for the current Ventrilo server that much money (if any is being spent). Easily accessed and quickly learned GSC is a wonderful program that I have trusted several guilds over several games to.n This is merely an offer to allow the guild Access to the my current server. IF the Current Officers and Leader wish to read up more on the Server the website is www.getgsc.com n I am not doing this to encourage the acceptance of my current application to the guild and am still willing to offer my assistance even if I am denied. Please feel free to reply to this thread as to your thoughts and I will happily answer them. My server is currently running and if you wish to access it to test and get the feel of the program I am only happy to help you do so. OOC: I have recently gained a job but am having to loan out my computer to pay my Rent that is upcoming on the First. Until my first paycheck. (in about 2 weeks) I will be unable to go online. I will be paying off the loan on my first paycheck and have my computer back. I am still seeking application to the Guild but right now my real life needs must be met until I can continue my online. Thank you for your offer. Currently we are using the vent server of a friend of mine so we aren't paying for it at all. I've tried to get him to let me help pay for it and he has refused, so the cost of the vent server isn't an issue for us.nnI looked at the link briefly. If anybody in Nyx wants to try it out, let the rest of us know how it works for you.

I'd like to note that there are several in Nyx who use Macs.nnThere is a stable Mac OS Vent client.nnThere is no Mac client for GSC.

nnThis. Ventrilo has stable clients for every platform, including OSX and Linux.
