If there are only 5% gnomes, then how come I keep tripping over the bastards?

And, where are our shaman? Only 8%? Countering that no one really wants to play a Draeni, there really should be more troll shamans. Be kind to your long-toothed blue brothers! The green and furry ones too.

That has to be based on total characters, not actual active players.

Jah know? Dat is how I came tah become Warburn Smoketusk!

I did that research into ED. With the intention of rolling whatever race/class combo was the least used. Back then Troll Shamans were still 8%. Amazing my little demographic didn't chnage in 1.75 years.

In other words, this Census is accurate? At least, to a degree?

So is it standing-room-only in Outlands, or what? The proportion of 70's seems staggering. I'm also surprised by the proportion of Horde - I wonder if that means we just have more alts than the Allys. I certain don't seem to notice a deficiency of the dirty bums, that's for sure.

It would be really helpful to know what data this represents, as far as regularly played characters versus alts.

I'm surprised there aren't more at 60 - I figured a lot of people who had several 60s would have left one or two sitting around there.

Just my little spin on the numbers if I recall what someone was say about the software and how it works, the addon that players have takes a log of all the characters that the 'user' character comes in contact with. The user uploads the data from his/her addon which is compiled with all the other users' data. If most of the users are 70's and hang out primarily in the Outlands, that might account for some of the numbers. Also, it would be interesting to know the breakdown of class to faction. Are all blood elves paladins and warlocks? There are only 3 draeni shaman 'cause Alliance players aren't smart enough to figure out how they work? Inquiring minds want to know!

Actually Baelspar, the graph in post #1, from what I understand; was not gathered In-Game via individual people through use of an Addon, but rather from information pulled out from the Official WoW Armoury, just like the custom Sig's we have from WoW Roster.

I've listed the site again below so you can take a closer look if you'd like.
