Rp resource: "good guys"
the second of the resources I am writing this one doesn't have as much time or research put into it as the first and as such I will be adding to it when I can and continue to endorse RPers to post their tips, thoughts, and helpful information.nn"good" character personalities:nndespite the thoughts of many evil RPers such as myself good characters aren't ALWAYS generic and quite often have some archetype like personalities similar to the evil ones. a mirror image if you will.nn"lawful good":nthe term lawful good has been in use since the original dungeons and dragons game and is quite honestly the most common personality for priests, paladins, and anyone playing a character that feels what they are doing is good or right. this personality has some very basic points of following whatever their order or society things is good and being VERY against the psychopathic style evil characters. the downside to this is that with all of the people in game going about RP normally there are alot of points where the "lawful good" personality is considered more of an annoyance than anything else. nn"the leader": many "good guy" characters have either the experience or delusion to consider themselves a natural born leader. this is generally tougher to do as a good character than an evil one due to the fact that you have to control any support through respect and experience rather than fear and power. hero style leaders are often more supported however and are more of the "respond to something wrong" than "go out and crush any problems you see".nnsupport: the mirror of the minion personality support has just about every function the same, you work for someone you agree with, you have plenty of people helping you, and you hope one day to get to the point you won't need to be support but can instead lead. the main difference is the way people go about this. as a minion they would just betray whoever was in their way until they reach the top, as a supporter it's slower. they have to be promoted or elected or just plain climb the ranks the hard way.nnn Organizations (resist urge to put in "justice league"):nnthroughout history every form of order had it's own organization. the knights of the round table, the empire of rome, those crazy people in costumes who get together every now and again to fight an evil person. all had organizations.nnLone wolf: this is the same no matter what alignment a character has. it is the most successful but also quite difficult for a new RPer. you have all the mobility and fame needed to get some good roles in events and stories but you have the hardest time doing anything because you have no support. also any evil player who you fight will remember you enough that you can have a constant enemy if you don't find a way to have them leave you alone.nnchain of command: another example of one leader many followers and every tier of it is expected to contribute. the leader has the toughest job as they need to keep up appearances, be respected, and be liked by their supporters. the support has the easiest job as they just have to deal with whatever the leader points them at.nnpartnership: much easier than the evil version but with about the same failure rate. the upside to this is that you have people who you agree with helping you out. the downside, and thing that kills it most often, is that if you start disagreeing with people OOC you have to deal with it or something bad WILL happen.nnPlans: n(edited for details)nnThe plans of the typical "hero" type RPer are actually slightly limited. most people striving for the good guy image tend to think in the same way as some law enforcement groups, you need to justify your actions even against a truly evil enemy. as such most good characters in RP don't actually start their stories until it is seen as a reaction to an evil RPer starting their plan.nnsmall scale: this is extremely simple. just come to the aid of someone when there's a small scale evil player doing something, save someone, stop a robbery, help an old lady cross an alligator infested swamp, it's up to you to decide what you want to do.nnLarge scale: this is generally left up to those with long standing enemies. imagine the classic super heroes of comic books and TV shows. they have a super villain to compete with, a constant mirror to them and both have to plan with that knowledge. large scale good guy RP is generally seen as opposing one of the large scale evil players. it can be anything from huge fights to guarding things of high importance and it can span anywhere from one short story to one that lasts days. nnProblem solving:nneven good guys run into trouble sometimes. angering too many evil characters, helping the wrong person and thus assisting your enemy, being accused of something they didn't do. no matter what there's the chance the people you protect will turn against you (after all not everyone is as noble as the classic hero).nnbe stealthy: secret identity? yeah not in this game. try finding ways to justify your actions before you react to an enemy and always remember to have the phrase "I did it to help you" ready.nntoo helpful to fail: ever wonder how heroes can make so much property damage and get away with it? simple. it's because they are the only ones who go up against the big villains that the guards or the people are too afraid of to fight. when you reach that level of heroism it's kind of hard for people to stay mad at you and not regret it when the bad guy comes back.nnbribes: ...you were expecting something more noble? ha! nothing works for staying on someone's good side like a carefully timed gift and an assurance that their support is welcome. get's people out of trouble in real life it can help in game too.nnnThis resource is (technically) complete for the moment. as such I open it to any tips or hints from those of you with the delusions of righteousness that don't like my evil plans. have fun.nsincerely,n Dark

Dies the beast.
Dies the king.
In fire's path, dies everything.
PS: Yes. You actually do have to run faster than the lion.
