Character Self Evaluation

Heavily inspired by this video I came across: g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/post/705086/Nugget-From-The-Net-Avatar-Days.htmlnnI thought, "We should have a place to do an OOC rant about our characters." since profiles merely tell you about a character, not what you think about a character. Just feel free to give a couple paragraphs of free thought on your character, anything you want to do with your character in the future.nnJust give a window of OOC explanation, and do as many characters as you like.

Grethem, seriously is not the first person I'd have a friendly conversation with. He's 10,000 years old, due to his connection to the emerald dream, but has grown sour, cynical, and extremely stoic because he never really had a chance to actually experience his life, and spends his time completely devoted to druidism.nnI didn't really make him so unbelievably old to make him seem more special or wiser, but just to make him who he is, he doesn't really even bring it up or use it to say he's better than anyone, not to say he doesn't feel the need to boss people around.nnOverall, it's almost painful how bad at socializing he is. He's silent and almost never speaks first. It's just not his style to go to a party, and this makes it hard for him to go to some events. I do have some fallback characters to go to events Grethem would be awkward in, but it would be much better if he would stop being so completely straight. In Cataclysm I do plan to make him something more fierce, and have him show more emotion, due to the earth being completely ravaged. Basically silent "I don't really care if it's not important" Grethem, will turn into extremely pissed at Ragnaros/Deathwing, think for the heart and not always for the Earthmother, Grethem. This may not turn out quite as intended, but hopefully something like it.nnHe doesn't specifically show it, but he has a strong dislike of Blood Elves. He pities the undead. And he absolutely despises feral druids if they do not show themselves to be good, and doesn't do anything to hide it. Going back to blood elves, it's really just a tauren thing, they have an aversion to the arcane. But it seriously makes me wonder, "Why are so many druids under Nyx?" I came up with several reasons Grethem joined Nyx, but I think I'll save those for later.

by Thanoss
At a broad, shallow inspection, Thanoss seems to emulate the stereotypes of every other warlock who's given in to their darker side. At first glance he seems so true to the stereotype that it's hard to find anything unique about him...nn...Until you start really talking to him and observe him. He literally ignores all boundaries of every kind. The concepts of respect and honor, while thoroughly understood, are never acknowledged by him. Only the most monumental of achievements can so much as momentarily distract him from his own agendas, and even then he seems more concerned with the time wasted feeling obligated to praise such achievements... should he choose to do so at all.nnHe seems to look at enemies and allies the same. He prefers working alone, only working towards goals which will ultimately only benefit him. He'd sooner watch the world turn to ash than raise a finger to aid in its survival, yet seems competent enough not to outright threaten anything he couldn't realistically kill.nnHis intelligence is his greatest weapon, as well as his greatest weakness (a weakness which he wields as yet another weapon). He looks into situations differently than most, seeming to analyze them at a rate exponentially faster and more accurate than others. He prefers to deduce conclusions quickly, finding the most likely end to the set of roads before him. However, this seems to sometimes cause his sanity to lapse, though how he handles this would make a perceptive observer consider that he may be manipulating his own sanity for an ultimate gain. For example, he's had numerous enemies in the past who would prefer to settle the score by physical means. Rather than allow them to challenge him, Thanoss would not only offer himself but trick or even force his enemy to main or mutilate him to their satisfaction. Many saw this as an act of insanity, however closer analysis (later confirmed with claims) showed that Thanoss was deliberately choosing his injuries, bringing himself as close to death as possible while still being able to eventually walk away from it.nnSince Thanoss' entry into Nyx, I've been struggling to find a new purpose for him. His original purpose was revenge, but he's already attained such. Due to his antisocial and cold attitude, it's hard to get him to develop with anyone else. I do have plans to bring his brothers, Soleon and Arkaos, into Nyx, eventually leading to him seeking their forgiveness (read his backstory to see why :P) and changing his name back to Thanoss Sunhawk.

by Loilaton
Loilaton is not the kind of person that I'd want to talk to, see, or even meet without at least a 50.cal in my hands. He's extremely arrogant, cynical, sadistic, twisted, and angry. He died in Arthas's assault on the Sunwell, was raised as a Death Knight. And was freed during the Battle of Lights Hope. Ever since he's been working with the Horde and has shady motivations.

by Shixin
Shixin is in flux right now. He is in his early years and has an engaging personality. He is always eloquent, with the enthusiasm of youth, but he tries hard to think about what he will say before he says it. He is very concerned with how others perceive him, due to narcissism that stems from the separation from his parents. He is insecure about his shortcomings and doesn't want people to take him for a fool.nnThe reason I say he is in flux is that his backstory seems to be somewhat cliched. It's important to me not to Marysue this character, but what can you do when millions of people have nearly identical characters? Anyway, Shix's father was an ambassador for the court of Quel'Thalas (hence the family name Waverider, which I'm not thrilled about, but "Sun" and "Light" family names for BE's have been done to death) who met his wife on one of his missions to (enter mysterious land and culture here), hence the odd name "Shi'Xinfeng" (supposed to mean "has strong belief"). His mother died in childbirth and his father was ordered to strike her name from memory, as she was an outsider and he married her against the court's judgement (which is why Shix doesn't know who she was or where she was from). Shix's father did his best to raise and teach him, until he too died during the razing of Silvermoon at the hands of Arthas and the Scourge.nnSince then, Shix has shown an aptitude for the Arcane, even to the point of dangerous obsession. If this young blood elf has a dark side, it is his interest in all forms of magic including an unhealthy flirtation with the darker powers. His attraction to power may well be his undoing, especially now that the Sunwell has been restored. Even he is unsure of what it is he seeks, but he believes that power is the answer.

by Ennuo
Quick synopses imported from another lore threadnnEnnuo was 'murdered' by a friend and wakes up in a forest on a different world, he does not belong to nobility or have anything interesting about him.nhe is somewhat attractive and always tries to see the good in things. despite being a rogue he doesn't bear any scars.nHas no drives, no significant primal fears, and is always confused at common everyday things. his only importance is that he is not from 'around here' andnwants to get home.
