Reforging bonds with other RP guilds

This thread has elements of both RP and Growth and Nourishment. The primary focus is more about RP so I would prefer to leave it here. nnI don't think that working on renewing our bonds with other RP guilds will address the poster's concerns. He is concerned with random encounters with our members resulting in RP no matter how minor. I think our focus on keeping our meetings in /s and /y is a step in the right direction. nnAs I see it, when he sees our members out in the world, he does not see us RP-ing. We might want to look at how we play and how we interact with the other players we encounter. That does not mean we have to engage every person we meet in an RP conversation. That wouldn't make sense. When I'm walking down a busy street or sitting at a bus stop, I don't strike up conversations with everybody I meet. But I do things like look around idly, read a book, look around, etc. nnWe could do emotes and strike up conversations if they make sense. We could also handle the enchants, gems we cut, etc. for other players in character. We can also talk with each other in /s. There are many ways we can make RP more visible on this server. I was talking with a couple guildies in The Filthy Animal in character and a couple other people outside of Nyx joined in. That is the type of thing all of us can do to promote RP on this server.

((nn*Note to self - start using brackets to delineate IC/OOC posts on the forums.nnOn topic, I always try to strike up RP with players I see close to me that might be taking an interest in me (targeting me, asking me for money/ports, etc). Even if they don't engage themselves, someone else close by might hear and then RP happens.nnAs far as reforging bonds with other RP guilds and breathing life into server-wide RP, you need two things:nn1. multi-guild events - WoW seems to have some seasonal event going at all times that just begs for some kind of ritualistic festival (summer solstice virgin offering, anyone?). There are also birthday celebrations, RP storylines with live events, multi-guild meetings, WPvP, or just sitting in Dal RPing with other guilds.n2. Sharing said events - a record, both in screenies and chatlog, should be posted in a public place with notifications about it on every ED board that can be found so that more people know its happening.nnHere's a step-by-step plan (as an example) to how we could accomplish this:n

Step 1 - Aitana and Lah call a meeting with other Horde RP guild GL's. They ask for a team to be assembled with reps from each guild. It has to be the GL's because no one else will be given due attention.nStep 2 - Each GL goes back to their guild and asks for volunteers for this "Live Event Team". Once they are chosen, the LET should meet and discuss details (where to discuss ideas, etc).nStep 3 - The LET plans the various events and coordinates the events with all the guilds that want to participate. THese could be relatively small parties and RP to large festivals and stories. nStep 4 - Event occurs and RP happens. LET members should record the whole thing, edit the results, and then post on a neutral HTML page that everyone can access.

nnLooking at the thread for event ideas, we have a ton of events already that could easily include the other RP guilds on this server. The only thing we need is a group that reps each one and is dedicated to making RP happen.nn))

Well, I've spent some time on an RP Server and what I noticed that they do is that pretty much everything is IC. WG? IC. Walking through Stormwind? IC, heck they even have a player-made city watch! They get out in the world and do stuff. They set up Soup-Kitchens for hungry lowbies (((Lowbie bums! Get out and earn your own Westfall soup D:<!!!))n Thats what we need to do. We need to advertise it in trade, "Adopt an Inn" in which we serve drinks and such, patrol zones, really we just need to get out in the world and do stuff.

I support the ideas in this thread. nnActually we do have an in-game channel still for the representatives of each guild to coordinate RP. It is not for guild members at large. And the system of inviting each other to events is still in place. We do need more information when people become aware of new RP guilds to get to know them and to add them to the list of people to invite.

[ From speaking with a couple of friends, Nyx has a bad rap in the rp community for some reason. It ranges from Nyx being so big and when they come into an rp event they 'take control of it.' Maybe a PR campaign is what is needed to get rid of bad rumors. There is also the other side that as Nyx, we are holding a large sign saying attack here in any contested area. I forget where the post is, but don't forget Horde side roleplay happens in Rachet! It is a goblin port for trade and making money. nnAlso, if I may ask, if roleplay is going on, what do you do to get involved? I know a few people who feel intimated to start off roleplay with an ongoing event, etc. Maybe have groups of 3-4 at night come to rachet and roleplay out a days events?
