RP resource: neutral characters.
the third and final character type resource I am making (at least until after I finish the resource on making events and stories) nnPersonalities of a neutral RPer:(also known as. true neutral people)nnthe balancing force: in the history of games there is quite often a faction or character somewhere who is the exact definition of true neutral. they are balanced never doing something good without doing something equally bad and vice versa. This is also the personality most adopted by some druids in RP. a balancing force is something that will quite often attempt to ensure that neither the good or evil characters in the game have a complete upper hand over the other. ensuring that (to the annoyance of many) the long fights for control stay that way.nnPassive: a passive character is generally anyone who plays a simple part such as an inn-keeper or vendor. they have no real interest in the fights between good and evil as long as someone doesn't come to their door with a weapon asking whose side they're on. this type of RP personality is actually very rare as most players can't stand the idea of missing out on the action of an actual event or story in favor of playing as someone selling hats or sweeping the floor.nnout for themselves: this is a very common form of a neutral personality, and is quite often considered to be evil instead of neutral. this however is wrong, anyone truly out for themselves is not above doing good or evil to survive and thus are very much like normal people. this personality is quite often played of as a thieving uncaring person but occasionally there are those who play the fast talking person who actually manages to be successful. either way this is, whether admitted or not, THE most common personality for neutral RPers.nnOrganizations: (yes mostly normal people have them too)nnan order: orders are fairly common in world of warcraft although the more notable ones generally fall under the "good guy" variety. occasionally you get groups like the goblins who are really and truly just trying to survive. THIS is what a true neutral character order is like. ensuring each-others survival and future safety.nnwanderer: sometimes a traveling merchant or a mercenary is noted for the things they do. often this is someone of a neutral RP alignment. these people could be anything from story tellers to soldiers for hire but the one thing they all do eventually is keep moving. this is essentially the lone wolf organization of the neutral RPers.nnnplans: (yes neutral RPers have these too)nnget rich quick scheme!: nothing says normal person like the occasional get rich quick scheme, these rarely ever work but the fact they don't even need an event to be RPed makes them both entertaining and useful for setting up your character's reputation and personality.nnRP for hire: one thing about neutral characters that is a major advantage over evil and heroic RPers is that there's no real limit to the number that can be in a story or event. as such if anyone ever needs an extra you can easily offer your services.nnrandomness!: who says you really need a full event or story to RP? many characters give a bit of back-story to those who will listen or have conversations with other RPers to pass the time in their day.nnnProblems for neutral RPers:nn......you have no problems..... if you do then something has gone horribly wrong.nnnnThat's it for the last of the character RP resources I am doing for the moment. next one up should be tips for making events or stories. nSincerely,n Dark (hope new RPers enjoyed these so far and found them helpful. next up, events!)
