The Ghoul you want.

Postby Theotaz » Mon Jul 20, 2009 9:49 pm

This was going to be a problem. Not today for him a simple problem. It just had to be a heroic problem. He thought it over for a moment..

Two Days Earlier

He sighed and queitly spoke to himself. "Ok, Khelio in Darnassus snug as a bug and tells me it easy duty." He shruged with a typical no issue shrug and crouched down. Lifting his hand he gazed at it critically. "Svalina start'n to gett'n outta da house a bit more." Again he shrugged and dropped his hand down. "Serim be just troop'n along as be de rest o' da kids. So whats still bothering me."

Cryptkicker sat beside him. The Ghoul snapped his hands to gether. Cryptkicker then grunted and then did a curious back flip. Now admittadly the image was tarnished by the snap of his talons touching. And the particularly, well, kind of disgusting liquid poping sound his body made when he moved didn't really help. None the less there was a certain poiniency.

"ok, whats be wrong?" Theotaz asked. The Ghoul looked at him. "Yes you. What be wrong? ... You be tink'n I not be pay'n no attention maybe?" The ghoul squatted down and drew a figure "8" sideways in the dust. It glanced up at Theotaz shook its head and wiped the image away. "Niiiigggghht Sooon. Ulllune up." Theotaz replied "Yea, Elune be in de sky soon, she be der." The ghoul glanced again at Theotaz. "noooo maaake thiings for "... It pulled a rattling breath "elluuuune.. No prettties heeerreee."

Theotaz frowned. Looking about he saw what one usually saw in the Eastern Plague Lands. Yellowed vile looking scrubs, usually with heavy thorns, and dead snags dotted the landscape. Some area nothing but bare eroding dirt held in place only by the bare living scraps of plant life. "Dey no flowers here for certainly mon. So you gonsa have to come up wid somet'n else for a offering.... if dats what ya mean to do dat is." The Ghoul looked at him again for a moment. After a moments inspection it scrabled around to the different bushes that still seemed to be precariously hanging onto life.

"Small flowers..small....fragile...break!" The ghoul moned in distress. "Not use.. if use, then no flowers...flowers make flowers. These maybe not make flowers but chance..must leave for chance." Theotaz sat dumbfounded for a small bit. OK, he could accept that the ghoul had some spark of real life, and was not just animated dead fleash. He could accept that The Ghoul had a soul, and could feel joy, sadness, awe, fear, and even love. He was haveing
a little problem with a ghoul showing a clear understanding that actions had concequences and some of the more esoteric philosophies.

None of the other Deathknights he knew of had a ghoul that was quite so cerebral. In fact most of them were mindless minions in the classic sense. Quite mindless the lot of them. Certainly the ghouls that got summoned when he brought forth an army of the dead were mindless like other ghoul.... but this one. The creature had attracted the attenion of a Godess. It wouldn't bother him quite so much if everyone in the household didn't constantly
"Borrow" the ghoul to help with chores.

Just yesterday he's found the little knee biter sitting on some old womans lap listing as she pooued out the story of her life. Of her sadness of no living children or relitives left that she knew of. The Ghoul had take'n the old womans hand and gently stroked her arm.. at least untill she suddenly transformed into a Banshee. Yet the Banshee had not attacked. She (She?) had bent down and kissed the Ghoul on the forhead, and had stroked his bony
shoulders. The Banshee had turned toward Theotaz next and given him a look that was simply uninterpratable and gently moved away without combat.

This was far from the first time this had happened. Of course getting teased about his "Ghoul Friend" was starting to get to him. Even order of the Ebon Blade had asked about the little ghoul. Where ever he went to Ghoul drew the curious and unafraid..well, basicly he drew anyone that hadn't run away screaming allready. Theotaz gave a little shrug as he thought about that. He'd recieved a rather generous offer for the Ghoul from the Darkmoon Faire... And he had been sorely tempted.

He almost considered it untill one of the Darkmoon fair people hauled him aside and explained to him in detail that the Ghoul would end up in one of the freak show cages. Theotaz hated being conned. He'd continued negociating with the chief barker while wandering into the freak show area of the fair. A lone wagon was there looking remarkably like a salvaged meat wagon from the Lich Kings undead army from the Third war. A cage of Bone and Iron had been constructed in the bed of the wagon.

Therotaz had looked hard at the cheif barker then and had asked CrypyKicker to show the barker just what the Ghoul thought about locking creatures up in cages. It really hadn't taken the Ghoul very long at all to utterly destroy the wagon and its attendent cage nor to utterly terrify the cheif barker when the ghoul had "informed" the greedy little goblin just exactly what it thought of beings that would lock living things in cages. A couple roustabouts that had come over to rescue the quite cowed chief Barker backed
right off when Theotaz had drawn out the great two handed mace he now wore.

Theotaz sighed. It had actually been a bit of fun. But that still left him somewhat puzzled as to what he should do next. He hauled his wandering thoughts back to the present to note that the sun would soon set. There was one old moonwell here in the region up by that Night Elf hunting lodge. He would be there in just a few moments. Theotaz mounted his Death Charger, the ghoul snuggling in behind him on the undead mount With a command they were at a mile eating run and had arrived at the moonwell within moments.

The night elf guards muttered dire threats but made no threatening moves other then one blowing on a whistle. A score of wardens and hunters came down the hills out of the treees but pulled up when they saw the lone death knight. Well, not quite alone. Cryptkicker was allready playing at the edge of the wells pool. And a ghost of an image of a etherially beutifull female with apparent elven features was playing with the ghoul. SIlvery water sprayed over the ghoul and splattered for some distance around the pool. One of the Night Elves appoched Theotaz.

This particular Night Elf was a death Knight. "Why do you desecrate the holy places of the Night Elves?" he asked with look of anger. Theotaz gestured to the moon pool. "If de goddess Elune or one of her servents wish to play in a moon pool, who be I to argue brudda of de Ebon Blade. I be desecrat'n noth'n. It be you not show'n a propper respect to de
lady."

The Elf bellowed anger and fury. Before he could arm himself Theotaz had been struck a half dozen imes by the two blades the Death Knight wielded. Not a single blow struck. A bubble of a white glowing something surrounded him. The blow the Night Elf had tried to rain apon him stopped by something no more substancial then a soap bubble. The female creature was suddenly beside the Night Elf and apparently and was withing moments apparently giving the elf the dressing down of his life. The conversation was apparently in Thallassian so Theotaz missed all the details.

The image turned to him. "Your friend tells me he is very sad there are so few flowers around here for him to make chains of flowers. Your friend will never lack for flowers again. Nor will you ever be permitted to be assulted near one of my moon well as long as you initiate no attack near one." The lady turned back to the pool and sadi something to the minion before she simply dissapeared. Theotaz turned to the obviously shaken Night Elf Death Knight. "We will be go'n now..ummm... sorry for the trouble." he said scetching a quick salute. Within moments both He and Cryptkicker were putting miles behind them.

One should alway beware of a blessing from a goddess though. Or a God. Or anything even closely related to the matter which brought him back to he orginal thought. His problem. Well. I guess haveing a happy ghoul wasn't to bad of a thing. Theotaz sighed. I could have been worse he supposed. And well, it wasn't that bad of a thing. Just a bit disconcerting. Nothing to do but just live with it. Theotaz brushed an offending flower petal off his gauntlet only to have a dozen more take thier place.

Dulucre looked utterly shocked when they rode into Orgrimaar. It wasn't so much the droop shouldered carrige of his master on his Deathcharger. Nor the flowers which appeared to grow in a moment, bloom and then shed thier petals in an unending stream from his garments. It wasn't even the clumps of flowers growing out of each step the deathcharger took. It was the Ghoul capering happily behind his master singing a little merry out of tune song as he picked the flowers and wove them into chains.... it just didn't quite fit the deadly dangerous Deathknight image. Really quite shocking... really
