Windham's Trials in Azeroth
OOC: ((As Elven ageing goes, it is to be assumed that although the Eleven race lost it's eternal life once the Well of Eternity was destroyed, they still have a considerably long lifespan, and thus she has not reached any particularly important age as of late. I use the term "turns" as a way to measure her progress, as i cannot really think of a better word. Also on one other note, doesn't a priest choosing shadow form to gain power faster relate very well to Darth Vader choosing the dark side to acquire a greater power? Writing was a little hurried, as the only time i have to do it is at work... p.s.- i need a troll translater! warburn?))
Windham hustled through the spring grass, hurrying to Magistrix Erona as she was already late for her training. Every week was like this. She would always be late to class, as it occured quite early in the morning. She approached Magistrix Erona and, to her surprise, was informed that she had passed the basic training course. She was now ready to assist the Blood Elves in reclaiming the Sunwell. Her first task? Reclaiming Sunstrider Isle.
From early in life, Windham had a strong connection with the Holy Light. Each invading parasite of a Mana Wyrm was swiftly smited by her holy magic. It turns out this was not all she would need to do today. She was also taught the ways of the Mana Tap, as it is called. She learned the power to drain one's mana.
When Windham returned to the Magistrix after defending the isle as best she could, she was again surprised to hear that the priest Panaris needed to talk to her. She was surprised, as she had only spoken to him once, briefly. He informed her she needed to assist the Rangers battling in the Dead Scar!
Arriving at the Dead Scar, she quickly took to casting a Power Word of Fortitude on all the Eversong Rangers. They thanked her, and went about their business of dealing with the Wretched. Windham, now well on-track on her adventure, continued for many, many turns. She battled through the Ghostlands, and then assisted healing many forces in Shadowfang Keep and against the Scarlet Crusade in the Scarlet Monastary. Her powers grew. She became an incredibly powerful healer, and soon was even healing forces battling the Sand Trolls in Zul'Farrak.
One day, a great priest in Orgrimmar approached her as she was completing her most recent spell training. He explained that while the forces battling these lesser issues were indeed in need of a proper priest, her services were needed on the front lines. 'The front lines! Wow!', thought Windham. The priest continued to explain how her power was not enough, and that even a veteran of 70 turns would find difficulty.
"How then, great priest, may I become of use?" Windham inquired.
"You must quest, young Windham. It is a long and difficult fight to the front lines, but only one questing to get there will be able to handle it. You must venture to the Dark Portal! Alone..." ((troll speak needed...))
"Jah Windham, ju needa quest. Dah road be long and hard, and only t'rue questin' will jah be able tah handle it. Jah must go t'rue dah Dark Portal! Alone..."
"But priest, my powers are not of the type to cause harm. I have heard much questing requires a more dangerous power. One of the Shadow. Is this not an evil thing?"
"Every priest casts a shadow. You must embrace yours, and the both of you must become one. Only then will you be prepared. Right now you are not. This lesson, I can teach you. But there is one more thing. Of the shadow, you will be. You must enlist in the order of The Lady Nyx, as she and her people will be the ones able of guiding you further." ((troll speak needed))
"Jah know... Every preist be 'avin a shadow. Jah mus' embrace yooz own, and dah both of yahs must becomin' one. Only den will yooz be prepared. Dis lesson, I cans teach jah. Howevah dere be one mo' ting. Jah will 'ave tah join dah ordah of dah Lady Nyx. Dah Dark Lady and 'er peeples be dah ones tah guide jah furthah."
Thus Windham took the power that the priest had granted her, and became one with her shadow, turning her physical being to a shadow form. The energy surged through her, and she found great power. Windham enlisted in the order of The Lady Nyx, and made powerful allies.
She quested to rid Azeroth of the South Sea Pirates, and assisted the people of Feralas in acquiring Yeti Pelts for their wares. Most recently, she has done much about the troll population in The Hinterlands, and helped cleanse Felwood of the evil inhabitants.
50 turns it has been now, and Windham is ripe with power. She looks to the Burning Steppes with furvent hope of reaching the Dark Portal. But how has her shadow-form effected her?
((To be continued....))
