Szlith's fall, Kindi's demise

Postby Kindi » Wed Aug 13, 2008 7:17 pm

The sun was bright, the air was hot and the birds who were singing stopped. Something was wrong. A glint of steel in the distance, the overwhealming smell of blood and ozone on the breeze. Kindi crawled towards her guild mates. Her armour shattered, her shield cracked and shipped, grasping the handle of her broken Suneater sword. As she neared they could see the sevarity of her wounds. Blood flowed freely form over a dozen deep slashes all over her body, half her right cheek was hanging by a thin strip of skin.
"Aitana...we...ha...have...tru...ble..." It was all she could muster at the moment. She was fighting as best she could against the everlasting sleep. To answer Aitana's question as to who had hurt her all Kindi could say was "Szlith....she's...will...Kruul...again." Kindi exhaled for the last time as her lifeless body slumped to the earth, she had made it home, she was in Durotar.

Kindi was searching for Szlith for days. She knew Szlith's skill as a blacksmith was of excellent quality and she was hoping for a new weapon. She eventually found her, in the last place anyone would look for her, deep in Undercity at the hellfirey hot forges. Kindi wasn't even able to get out her question...Szlith turned on her, eyes blood red and smoking! The hammer she was using was thrown directly at Kindi's head as Szlith said "You will be the first to feel Kruul's power." Dodging the hammer Kindi was barely able to recover as Szlith was charging her, Lunar Crescent in hands. With every swing shadowy fire burst from the axe and tried to "leap" onto Kindi. The two battled around the entire outer ring of Undercity. Any of the guards stupid enough to engage in this epic battle fell in seconds. The chain lightning from Szlith was arcing to innocent bystanders ever a small recon group of Alliance trying to get into the throne room turned and fled when the pair battled past them and a deflected swing of Szlith's axe cut a gnome warlock in two. Eventually Kindi started to tire. She had been fighting with Szlith for hours. Szlith staggered, a feint, Kindi fell for it and the Earth Shock spell doubled in power by shadowy hellfire caught Kindi square in the chest. Her armour exploded. Szlith was on top of her instantly cutting and slicing fiendish abandon. Finally the Horde realized what was happening and banded together to put an end to this fight. Many died and were wounded, in the end Lady Silvanus herself left the throne room and as she was about to unleash a spell powerful enough to level a city the ground shook, a crack formed and a burst of shadowy hellfire engulfed Szlith...she was gone.

Those members of the Horde who attempted to save Kindi looked around, nowhere in Undercity was any evidence of what happened to Kindi. Grinkle, a goblin trader from Gadgetzan had opened a trade portal and pulled Kindi through. Once in Gadgetzan he attempted to get healing for her but no one answered his cries, the Alliance had the guards busy. Dead Horde lay everywhere, with all the Horde's best defenders in Undercity the Alliance had shown their true cowardess and attacked all major outposts used for training. A blast of magefire knocked Grinkle to his knees then he blacked out.

Riding through the Shimmering flats towards Thousand Needles Moriroquen came across a trail of blood and followed. At the end of the trail was Kindi, unmoving. As she dismounted and ran to her guild mate's side a flicker of steel caught her eye, she fell as the Alliance rogue appeared from nowhere. Mori looked up at the Night Elf and spat, her last act of defiance. The Rogue raised his two daggers for the kill, lurched and fell. Kindi's broken Suneater buried deep in his spine. Mori gained her feet and attempted to heal Kindi, no use. Something had destroyed her life force and even a paladin's healing spells were useless. The two managed to get Kindi onto Mori's warhorse and they started towards help.

Once again the ground shook, cracked and the shadowy hellfire burst up from the ground and Szlith stood blocking their path. Eyes of blood and fire stared at the two warriors of Nyx. With a sudden unexpected move Mori slapped her warhorse and yelled HOME ! and it burst ahead jumping clear over the surprised Szlith. Next Mori was on the attack, giving everything she could in hopes of giving Kindi time to escape...it worked. As Kindi disappeared in the shimmering sands Szlith's axe slammed into Mori's shield cutting it in two Mori smiled as she died her last words being "The Nyx will come."

Kindi fell off Mori's mount onto the lift taking her from Thousand Needles up into Southern Durotar and crawled...

(( Kindi is female?! ))

Waburn came by Aitana's call as soon as he could. He cleared his mind and using the best resucesetation spell Thrall had taught him, he touched Kindi's bloodied forehead.

Then they waited. Would Kindi's spirit accept the summons back to the living?

Upon touching Kindi's head Warburn felt something was wrong, something was preventing Kindi's soul from returning to the body. Then a small burst of shadowy hellfire burned Warburn's finger tips. As a shaman Warburn knows, there is no way Szlith could have done this, not alone at least.

The door to the guildhall flew open, with Redflare hurtling himself into the chamber, and glances about, searching for something.

"Has anyone seen Kindi?! I've seemed to lost her during an attack in the Undercity!"

The blank stares upon the others gave him his answer, and he spun around, giving a disgruntled sigh as he bolted back outside into the gleaming sunlight. The last he saw of the Orc was when he was overwhelmed by Forsaken and Gnome alike swarming over one another, tearing at each other's throats. As he forced his way through the fray, he caught a glimpse of the wounded warrior just as a Goblin drug her through a trade portal.

He leaps onto his raptor, and kicks his heels, dashing off in search of the lost Orc. He traveled through the Shimmering flats, and was caught off guard by a sudden rumble from the earth below, causing his mount to buck and screech in terror, flinging him off. Slamming his head into the hardened earth below, he became dazed, and stumbled about, trying to find his way. His blurry vision suddenly caught the form on someone in bright armor, and the sound of metal clashing over one another.

As his vision began to fade, he noticed a broken shield laying upon the ground before him, and a trail of blood leading towards the Goblin tradespost, Gadgetzan. Before he could regain his sight and continue on, the earth rumbled once more, and his raptor collided with him, knocking him unconscious.

Aitana watched helplessly as Warburn attempted to revive Kindi and jumped at the uncanny burst of flame.

"What was that fire when you touched Kindi? Why is her spirit still gone?" There was a catch in Aitana's voice. Before he could answer, she already knew the answer. The mention of Kruul had sent a shiver down her spine. She had hoped that Kruul was just a bad dream, some sort of misunderstanding, not something real. While she did not know much about Szlith and whatever this "Kruul" was, she knew it could not be good.

"We need to get her to someplace safe. Perhaps the Naaru in Shattrath can help her," Aitana continued not waiting for Warburn's reply. "How can we take her there?"

After many moons had passed and little improvement in Kindi's condition it was quite a surprise for the warrior to walk out of her room in full arms and armour, stretch and ask her friends if help was needed. Kindi had no idea what happened to her since Szlith's nearly fatal attack on her but for some reason this morning everything changed. She said she woke up and felt strong. All the pain was gone, the stiffness in her joints was fading every second. Her mind was sharp and her vision clear. Today Kindi decided, was the first day of her new life.
