Tiberan slowly gained conscienceness, regretfully leaving behind his dream of being in bed with two beautiful elven women. He found himself warm and comfortable in his bed, but with only one beautiful elf woman beside him. He would have rather stayed with her, but if he ever wanted to have his dream come true he needed more power. He got up, and jumped down the stairs, gracefully floating to the first floor of his unfortunately small abode in Silvermoon.
He sat down and began his morning rituals, drinking a mug of mana while puffing some bloodthistle from his hooka. He looked at his sun dial, and groaned with excitement. Finishing up with his fix for the day..or at least for the next few hours, he bathed and started preparing his hair. Around one hour later he was done with his hair, when he got a call on his scrying orb. "Tiberan, you're running late..again." said his higher up, Magister Sunglass, or 'Sunass" as Tiberan called him behind his back.
"Calm down, I'll be there in the blink of an eye." Tiberan responded, then instantly disappeared from his place. He re-appeared at the Sunfury Spire a second later, right behind the Magister he was just speaking with. He was tempted by the thought to stick a message on Sunglass's back such as "Mana Tap Me", but before he could pursue it the Magister turned around with a stern look on his face. "You know you are not approved to alter your teleportation spells to avoid getting to work late." Tiberan rolled his eyes, and held out his palm attempting to get his work orders and avoid further lecture.
Sunglass reached into his pocket and pulled out a scroll, placing it into Tiberans hand while sighing. "You have a delivery to pick up from a lady named Andra.." the Magister started going over each and every boring detail, as if Tiberan could not handle the assignments without. "And finally we need more ley readings at this location in Silverpine Forest" This last bit of information caught Tiberan's attention. It was not only somewhat more important than his usual errands, it also came close to his home of Dalaran. Tiberan considered the magister's motivations for a moment.
Was this a test? To see if he would actually perform the task, or try to sneak entrance back into Dalaran and betray Silvermoon? If so it was a poor one, he would never gain entry, at least as long as his eyes were green. Maybe though..if he could create an illusion. He realized that he was seriously considering it, and that he was a fool for thinking he would ever go back to old times. The truth is his parents and the whole of Dalaran could never accept him, and for what, making a few bad decisions? What teenager doesn't?
Tiberan snapped back to reality, noticing Sungrass had been observing his depth of thought. He tightly held the scroll to his chest and nodded, then left wordless to start his boring yet sometimes amusing work for the day. One day, he thought to himself, all of this will pay off, and when it does I'm going to have Sunass doing the errands for me. Tiberan was finally at the last chore, to take readings of ley lines in a location in Silverpine forests that had been showing increased activity. Normally he try to avoid this side of the continent, though several of his friends were now Forsaken he disliked them and their lands.
He approached the location marked on his scroll, only to see several Dalaran mages set up camp there. He instinctively started walking towards them to talk, noticing a familiar face among them. He quickly stopped himself though, remembering that they were not on his side. His side, he repeated in his mind and shook his head. He pulled out his ley crystal and scanned the spot he was at, then put it back in his bag. He then pulled out some parchment and a pen, scribbled something down on it, and sent it flying towards the Dalaran mages.
As they noticed it coming, he turned around and closed his eyes, and instantly disappeared from their sight. When they found no magical trap on the paper, the Dalaran mages opened it up and read the note. It just read "Mother and Father, I'll have to come some other time, you'll see me soon I promise. Love you, Tiberan." One of them took the note and smiled, then opened a small portal and gently placed the note through it to it's proper owners.

It had indeed been a test, a test of loyalty. Tiberan passed it by returning, and against some wishes he was promoted to Arcanist. He was still scolded by Sungrass for the poor readings, but Tiberan just shrugged it off. The power and status he had hoped to achieve was finally coming closer. However, in the back of his mind he knew that this would mean nothing if he ever went back to Dalaran. Sure he would be nobility there, and likely offered a place of status. However he would lose any standing in Silvermoon, and likely be unable to ever return. So was all this really worth it?
What if he didn't return, and continued his path. He might one day become Grand Magister, but that would mean cutting off his family and life back in Dalaran. So many difficult questions arose from this promotion, that he almost wish he never got it. Almost. Tiberan decided to spend the rest of the night using his new power and influence wisely. He headed out to a bar and started buying ladies drinks and offering them the chance to dance with an Arcanist.
He awoke in the morning from a startling flash of light, which illuminated the bodies of the two naked beautiful elven women sleeping next to him. A magical image of his parents appeared before him. "Mom?! Dad?!" he said, while trying desperately to cover up the females "What are you doing here?". His father answered "Son, chip off the old block I see" he said with a smile. His mother elbowed him "Tiberan" his mother replied "We got your message, and wanted to respond. We are working with the Kirin Tor, to try to allow you in. Not just you, but all that wish to help the fight.".
"Fight?" Tiberan asked. "Yes" she continued. Many things are happening, a war is coming and we will need help. You will soon learn more, and we look forward to seeing you again. We love you and miss you, and don't hold against you the things you have done. We all make mistakes. We must go now, goodbye." "Goodbye son." his father said. With that the magical images of them disappeared, and the room was dark again. Tiberan smiled as several tears fell down his face.
He stretched his arms and looked at the two women still somehow asleep, then smacked them playfully on their asses.

The next morning Tiberan casually walked to work while whistling happily, wearing extravagant an robe of red and purple befitting his new status. He arrived early and did not see Sunglass around. He quietly opened Sunglass's door, and found him praying to a statue of Elune. Sunglass jumped up and tried to hide it behind his back, but he knew Tiberan already saw it.
"What are you doing? Aren't those illegal here?" Tiberan asked with amused interest. "Tiberan...please if anyone hears about this I will be ruined." Sunglass responded. "Quite a predicament you have." Tiberan said. Sunglass put the idol in his desk drawer and walked up to Tiberan. "Tiberan, if I've been hard on you it's only because I saw so much potential in you. Please, let's keep this just between us." "I will consider your request, if only because our relationship has meant so very much to me." Tiberan replied with a warm smile on his face.
Shortly after Tiberan was leading several Magisters to Sunglass's room. They burst open the door and opened the desk drawer to find the statue of Elune there. Sunglass pleaded with them, but the Magisters cast a spell of holding on Sunglass, and escorted him away. "Thank you for this information Tiberan," one of the high ranking Magisters said "I understand it must have been hard to turn in a person you worked with. You made the right choice, and there just happens to be a position opening up soon that you may happen to qualify for."
"I'm honored by your offer, it was indeed a difficult decision but we must all do what is right for Silvermoon." Tiberan said with a false frown on his face. He then turned and walked away quickly, for it was hard for him to hold back his smile. He decided he would take the rest of the day off, considering his boss was being imprisoned. He almost considered thanking Elune for the opportunity, but figured he better not lest he wind up in the same place as Sunglass.

Several weeks passed by, and Tiberan had not heard any more from his parents. He began to wonder if it was just a dream. Then one day after handing out assignments to the latest batch of new recruits, he was approached by Grand Magister Rommath.
"Tiberan, we have just received some important information regarding Dalaran" he said. "Dalaran?" Tiberan asked with some nervousness in his voice. "Yes, it moved to Northrend to help fight the scourge and other threats." Rommath continued "Further more, they have opened their doors to all that wish to enter and assist with their efforts."
"I appreciate you informing me of this information, but what does it have to do with me?" Tiberan questioned. "We need someone to go there, to co-ordinate the relations between Silvermoon and Dalaran. We need an ambassador." Rommath stated, observing Tiberan's smile as he did.
"Me, an ambassador? I would be honored, but wouldnt such duty go to one of higher rank such as your Magisters? Tiberan responded, goading on what he knew would come next. "Yes, it would. Which is why at this moment you are now a Magister. You're close past history with Dalaran makes you an excellent candidate...as well they personally requested you."
Tiberan's head felt like it was about to burst. Not only becoming a Magister so quickly, but being able keep his status in Silvermoon in good terms while going to Dalaran, and as an ambassador. It took him a while to realize he was still standing in front of Rommath, not even spoken a word to accept the offer. "Thank you, I gratefully accept your offer."

The day had finally arrived, Tiberan was to travel to Dalaran. He hadn't been quite restless the past few days, his mind full of anticipation. So much good luck lately, he felt almost as if someone was watching over him. He got up out of bed, and jumped downstairs with a leaping twist in the air, floating down to the first floor of his home.
There was the package waiting for him on his table, wrapped in beautiful red and orange gift wrap. It reminded him of Winter Veil, when he excitedly ripped the wrapping to shreds to get his new toys. He almost felt like doing so now, but decided against it and carefully opened the box. Inside was one purple-hued metal ring with various magical engravings.
He put it on and almost used it right there and then, but forgot he was not wearing pants. Probably would not be the best way to make your re-appearance, Tiberan thought to himself while grinning. He went digging through his closet, and pulled out his old royal purple Dalaran robe. He had not worn it in forever, yet it still looked brand new.
After finishing up with his preparations, he closed his eyes and concentrated on using the magic of the ring. When he opened his eyes, he was in a round blue colored room with stairs leading out. He readied himself and walked down the steps, and saw daylight up ahead. Walking outside he was in a park area, the first thing he noticed was a large fountain. He felt calmer, remembering the same fountain in his memories.
It was surrounded by a grassy park area, with benches and various people talking to each other. He looked up, expecting to see the same sky he saw long ago, but instead saw the beautiful northern skies. As well he saw the magnificent towers of Dalaran, standing tall there as if they had never been destroyed. He closed his eyes and let his sense of smell and hearing take him away, pleasantly reminding sounds and fragrances rushed to greet him.
Tiberan looked around, like a lost tourist in his own home, until he found the pathway leading to the Violet Citadel. On the way he noticed familiar places and faces, but it was slightly different. Not just the places, but the faces as well. Instead of the friendly smiles he recalled, he found mostly instead scowls and some acted like he wasn't even there at all. When an old gnome friend turned his sight from him, he knew things would not be as they were before.
He sighed and sat down on a nearby bench, going into his thoughts. He wondering if perhaps this was a bad idea, as much as he missed his home it was clear that he wasn't quite welcome. As he looked up he spotted down a hall his parents speaking with some official looking person. He got up and started running towards them, but was thrown back by an invisible magical force. He landed on his rear, and was about to start asking questions in a very angry voice before his parents rushed up to greet him.
"Tiberan" his mother said while hugging him "I'm so glad you made it alright." "Alright? My rear is quite sore, I don't know if you would call that alright. What was that all about?" he said while returning the hug. His father extended a hand and helped pull him up, and Tiberan dusted off his robes before going to give his father a hug. "Sorry about that, it's an area that only certain people are allowed in." his father responded. "Come, let's go for a walk, it has been so long and there is much we need to talk about." his mother said while trying to take him by the hand. "Mother, I'm an adult now, please." Tiberan said embarrasingly, shooing her hand from his.

As he walked around Dalaran with his parents, they were silent at first. It gave him time to admire the sights, it had been a long time since he had walked these paths. The city of Dalaran didn't have the elegance and sophistication of elven architecture, but it did have a magnificence of it's own. They stopped at a barbershop "Tiberan, don't you think it's about time you cut your hair? It's grown a lot since I last saw you." his mother said.
"Is this what you wanted to talk to me about?" Tiberan asked, shaking his head. "It's just that it's grown so awfully long." his mother responded. "Son, we've just missed you so much and have been terribly worried. We thought we may have lost you when you left." his father said while putting his hands on Tiberan's shoulders. "They won't allow you to stay with us, since you are considered part of the Horde. However, they have graciously offered space to the Horde."
Tiberan backed away "Sleep with the Horde? Do you realize they rest in straw mats, they don't even have chairs!" Tiberan said with an offended tone to his voice. "Tiberan, they have allowed you and the members of the Horde, as long as they help with the fight." his father said. "Fight? You mean against the scourge?" Tiberan asked.
"Not just that son, but...against the aspect of magic." his mother stepped in. "The dragon Malygos is trying to stop all magic users, we fear he may have gone insane." she paused "You don't have to sleep in their quarters, there is some lovely rooms in the inn you know." she said, trying to change the subject. Tiberan's jaw dropped, befuddled thinking that the very aspect of magic was trying to put a stop to magic users.
"Perhaps we can try to reason with him, maybe if.." "No, he can not be reasoned with. Every messenger we have tried to send has ended up dead. It is clear we have to stop him." his father interupted. "Well, with that out of the way, let's go have some dinner I am famished. There is a great place right around the corner." his mother said with a cheery smile on her face. Tiberan shaked his head, knowing at least his parents haven't changed much.

Tiberan woke up while it was still dark outside, sweating from a nightmare. He could barely recall a giant evil creature chasing after him in the dark. He wiped away the sweat from his forehead, and then jumped off his bed. Instead of floating down to the second floor of his home, he landed face first on the first floor of the bedroom in the inn he was staying at.
"Ow" he muttered as he picked himself up. He thought to himself that these quarters simply wouldn't do, as he mulled about getting dressed and preparing his hair. About an hour later the sun was rising and his hair was just perfect. He stepped outside, and found a long wrapped object in front of his door. He picked it up and opened it, revealing a beautiful purple staff, bearing resemblance to many used by Dalaran mages.
Thinking it was a gift from his parents as they often left him gifts at his door in the past, he took it with him as he went out. He walked towards the violet citadel, and as he did so he had a nervous feeling in his stomach. He walked up the stairs and was greeted by suspicious looks as he passed several humans. He thought he felt something unusual happening to his hand, but dismissed it as stage fright.
He entered the citadel, a large room with bookcases and various magical items about. In the back he noticed several portals, and wondered where they went to. As he approached Rhonin, the head of the Kirin Tor, he noticed the high elven lady by his side rudely glare at him. Rhonin was in the middle of conversation with her, and turned to see Tiberan standing there.
"Tiberan I take it" he spoke "I've heard much about you, accomplished graduate from Dalaran. You were in store for a great future, before you left..." his voice trailed off, his eyes fixating on the staff Tiberan held. "Thank you, being a student within Dalaran's walls were some of the best years I've had." Tiberan said, noticing Rhonin staring at his staff.
"That staff, where did you get it?" Rhonin asked with urgency in his voice. "I found it outside my room, I think it may have been a gift from my parents." Tiberan responded. The staff began to glow bright orange in color, emanating great energy. "We have to get rid of it, now!" Rhonin yelled as he reached for the staff. Tiberan realized instantly what was happening, and that if it exploded it could take out all of Dalaran, and it would be his fault.
Tiberan teleported out of the room onto the streets of Dalaran in a blink, and desperately looked around as for where to go. He then looked up to the sky, and instantly teleported up into the air. Further and further upwards, trying desperately to get it away from Dalaran. The staff was blindingly bright now, and he couldn't hold on to it for long. Finally he was to where he could barely see the city floating in the sky, and he blacked out.
Above the city of Dalaran you could see far away a large explosion, it's energies rippling the very fabric of space around it. There was a meeting of the council of Kirin Tor, and it was decided that it was most likely an attempt by Malygos to destroy the city. Rhonin personally delivered the news to Tiberan's parents of what happened, and that he had gone missing since then.
The council had a search party scour the areas around Northrend to where Tiberan could have been. After several days of nothing coming up, they had to cancel their search due to the dangers they faced by the agents of Malygos and Arthas on land. Everyone had thought Tiberan had died in his successful attempt to save Dalaran, except his parents which still held hope.

As Tiberan unconsciously fell down to the rapidly approaching ground, his hawkstrider figurine in his pocket began to glow. Rhyn, his purple hawkstrider mount appeared beneath Tiberan. Permanently enchanted with the spell Slow Fall, Rhyn slowed the descent and landed safely on the ground before disappearing back into the figurine.
Tiberan woke up to the sounds of beating drums, and a chill running down his spine. He slowly opened his eyes, and saw a a dark purple sky above him. Getting up he whispered to himself "Oh no, this is not good at all." as he saw the troll ruins around him. As the beating of the drums was getting louder, Tiberan quickly got up and hid behind one of the purple trees there.
"The only thing worse than a troll" he paused with a sigh "is an undead troll." he thought as he noticed several undead withered trolls nearby. "This isn't an issue, I am Tiberan accomplished mage.." he started casting to open a portal, but his train of thought was interupted by an undead troll charging towards him.
Tiberan shook his head as he waved his fingers and a large ball of fire shot forth from his hands right into the creatures face. It was knocked down and it's head continued to be consumed by the flame, smoke rising from it. Tiberan was thankful that at least these creatures were stupid and lacking tact.
He began casting his spell again, but paused when heard the drums beating again. Except it seemed much louder, and the ground was starting to shake. Tiberan looked behind his shoulder and saw a massive undead creature as tall Silvermoon tower marching towards him. "Oh no, this is not good at all." Tiberan started running away from the undead giant, blinking ahead to gain distance.
He saw a long staircase going down, to what appeared to be Crystalsong's purple and white forest. He was almost there, safe near Dalaran. Then as he entered the forest he ran straight into a very large and very purple ancient, which looked very angry. Tiberan sighed and jumped out of the way just in time to dodge the ancient's large fist coming at him. Quickly releasing a cone of cold, he froze it's fist into place in the ground. The other fist came at him quicker than the last, and he was knocked back several feet from the blow.
He saw that the ancient pulled his frozen hand out of the ground, and marched towards him. Tiberan quickly cast a magical dome force field around him, similar to the one used by Dalaran to protect the city for so long. Unfortunately it would not protect him for as long, as it started to crack as the ancient pounded on it.
He started casting a portal spell, but not to get him somewhere safe. As the magic shell broke, Tiberan stood before the ancient hiding the portal behind him. As the ancient raised his foot to squash him, Tiberan blinked forward to avoid it. The ancients foot then fell right through the portal and ended up kicking the gigantic undead Tiberan faced shortly before hard in the face knocking it out cold.
Taking advantage of the situation, Tiberan unleashed a torrent of arcane missles to the ancients head. The creature finally fell over, falling unconscious. Tiberan grinned at his cleverness, taking two birds out with one stone. He then saw a flash of light behind him, and quickly turned around to see a blue dragonkin sprawled out on the ground. He was puzzled for a moment, until he saw his parents flying in on a magical carpet with their wands brandished out.
They landed on the ground and rushed up to meet Tiberan, hugging him tightly while crying tears of joy. "Tiberan, don't you ever do that again!" his mom cried. "What, save the city?" Tiberan responded and kissed his mom on the cheek. "Son, I knew you were still alive, would take more than that to kill a Tyl'Nauile." his father said. Tiberan was relieved to see his parents again, but quickly reminded them it wasn't safe here. They all stepped onto the magic carpet and flew back to Dalaran.

Tiberan and his parents arrived back in Dalaran, in Krausus Landing. As they walked in, members of the Kirin Tor rushed him in to the Violet Citadel. As they passed by groups of citizens, some expressed their thanks to Tiberan and waved at him. Others just watched silently, which Tiberan felt was at least a minor improvement.
Tiberan arrived inside the Violet Citadel, his parents waiting outside. He was approached by Rhonin, and noticed in the corner of his eye Vereesa standing back staring off into the distance as if she was trying to ignore what was proceeding. "Tiberan" Rhonin spoke "it is good to see alive. It speaks well for the teachers at Dalaran University, that one of their students can perform such a feat."
"It is good to be alive, thank you. However, I'm afraid I will have to steal some of the credit from the school for myself. I hope you understand." Tiberan interjected. "Of course. We were worried that we would not have the chance to thank the one that helped stop quite a mess." "A mess? I fear you may be underestimating just a little what that explosion would have done."
"I understand what you are getting to, Tiberan." Rhonin said with a smile on his face. "I must admit, you did save, and yes I used the word save, Dalaran. You have mine, the Kirin Tor's, and even though it may not seem like it, the entirety of Dalarans appreciation. Don't let it get to your head though." Rhonin said with a sigh.
A member of the Kirin Tor stepped forward, carrying a blue orb on a purple pillow, handing the orb to Rhonin. "Tiberan, for your brave actions of possibly sacrificing yourself to save Dalaran, you are hereby awarded an official Kirin Tor familiar and dubbed an honorary member of the Kirin Tor." Tiberan knelled before Rhonin in a polite gesture, silently taking the orb and placing it inside a pouch.
"Try to keep quiet about what happened though. Some information may have slipped out, there are rumors going around. We'll try to write off the whole explosion as a special fireworks show." Rhonin said. Tiberan stood up quickly "Why? I helped save the entire city from possible destruction, and you don't want everyone to know about it?!
"Tiberan" Rhonin said as he stared into Tiberan's eyes "I'm afraid that it is more important than your popularity. If it became widespread that Dalaran was almost so easily defeated, it would cause much doubt and concern. We are still not quite sure how this happened."
"If you do not mind, we would like to ask you some questions, about the occurrence." One of the Kirin Tor members spoke. "Yes, we need to find out more about the origins of this staff you found." Rhonin said. Tiberan sighed, dreading an interrogation.
"As I mentioned, I found it outside my door in the Inn. I thought it was a gift from my family, and that is all." Tiberan continued. "Yes, but for you to take a gift without question and bring it to us." Vereesa suddenly said from the back of the room "draws some suspicion on you and your family does it not?"
Tiberan returned Vereesa's glare, and opened his mouth to speak. "We just want to get as much information as we can." Rhonin said with a stern voice "The loyalty of the Tyl'Nauile family is not in question." "For now" Vareesa whispered just loud enough for it to be heard only by the elves in the room.
Rhonin sideglanced at Vereesa "It has been quite a long day, and I am sure Tiberan has much to do, with his packing and all." "Packing?" Tiberan asked with concern on his face. "Yes, I have arranged for a room more suiting to your position, in one of the violet towers." Tiberan's mouth opened ever so slightly in surprise. "Unless, you would prefer to stay where you are now of course" Rhonin said in jest.
"Oh, no that is a fine offer and much appreciated." Tiberan replied trying to keep a calm elegant tone, hiding his excitement. "However, I do believe that I will need a key." A small purple book floated off the nearby book shelves and dropped into Tiberan's open hand. "Thank you for your gracious accommodations, I will try to keep the events to myself." Tiberan said, as he excused himself and left.
His parents were still there waiting, and looked up with smiles on their faces as he came down the stairs. He informed them of what he wanted them to know of what took place within, leaving out the suspicion on their family name. He then fared them goodnight, and looked upwards towards the violet towers, and disappeared from the streets.
