Shayla Roseblossom: Under the Gnomish-looking-glass

Postby ShaylaRose » Wed Jun 03, 2009 3:41 am

Shayla Roseblossom is a (Since I have yet to have seen any sources explain how long Tauren normally live) 17-year-old-ish (in proportion to a human lifespan) female Taurette, whom obviously still has more growing-up to do. She is white all over, hinted with a tan face, and dotted with brown spots along her limbs. She is actually rather short, even for her age. She is obviously very charismatic and very extroverted, compared to most of her fellow Tauren bretheren. She is very happy with doing her best to make other people smile and chuckle. Life is too short to not enjoy it, so smile, and spread the joy! She is quite adamant about doing the right thing, along with healing and protecting those around her.

She was born and raised in the village in a far southern Mulgore, though most haven't heard of it, as it is a very small and strange village. The village of Luya is slightly different than other villages, because it is the only home of the Tribe of Pure Hearts. They are a very humble and small tribe, and their views are slightly eccentric, compared to the rest of the worlds'. The Tribe of Pure Hearts raise themselves to be closer to the Earthmother than most anyone else, even in their ways of thinking.

For just a few examples of how they are viewed as a strange Tribe, is the fact that the Earthmother gave you the body you have, and there is no need to hide it. Shayla was caught very much by surprise at the beginning of her adventuring career, when she went to Thunderhoof Village, and Mulgore, and learned that basically the rest of the world, for some reason, was ashamed of themselves, and always had most of their bodies covered by clothing. Now, no, her Tribe didn't always run around nude... They did wear clothing for the reasons clothing was first invented. To protect themselves (That's more armor, than clothing though), to keep warm, at times, and for different ceremonial pruposes.

ANOTHER example of how the views she was taught and raised by, make her a rather strange girl, was that her Tribe has taught her that love knew no bounds, i.e. gender. Everything in nature was (for a lack of better terms) born bisexual, and that is just the case here. Love is not picky, and neither should be those whom seek it. If one was attracted to someone/thing, then there are no 'rules' one needs to follow.. You just love it, and hope it loves you in return. A few members of her Tribe have taken various Tauren, animals, and even a few different Monsters, as lovers, in their history. So naturally, the whole issue of 'sexuality' came to her as a shock, when she was ridiculed for her open-mindedness, and told that she was only supposed to pine after bulls (not that she doesn't like them ;p )

She is also short, even for her age, which leads to a problem for her. Because of the natural-thinking of her village, things that are unnatural are normally seen as a negative, or unattractive. Thus stated, Shayla's extreme charisma, along with her unusual shortness, all basically mean that she is viewed as rather unnatractive, to those of her Tribe... One of the many reasons why she left home, to begin adventuring, along with her hunger to learn of the outside world. Also, another fun fact about her upbringing, was that she was taught that the Undead were a defilement to the Circle of Life. Undeath is neither Life, nor Death, and it is a befoulment to the Earthmother's way. So, needless to say, she very much despises the Undead (Forsaken, Scourge, Death Knights... They're all the same) and will act noticeably-different, when there are some around her.

Next off, a little bit more on her history! She was, as before mentioned, born and raised in Luya Village, home to the Tribe of Pure Hearts. It is a village of not even 50 Tauren large, and very self-sufficient. As with most Tauren societies, they are very self-sufficient as they live off of the land, at one with the land. She was raised by her father, as her mother passed away, shortly after giving birth to Shayla's little sister. She was raised as a Druid, even though her parents were both Shaman, as it was obvious from a very early age, that she was quite skilled in shapeshifting. By the age of 7 (In human lifespan comparison) she had mastered the bear and cat forms, and had begun changing into various other things, such as owls, snakes, moles, wolves, birds, squirrels, and all SORTS of other things. She doesn't show off, or gloat about her accomplishments, though she WILL utilize them in order to cause a hint of mischief, in order to cheer up her friends, or sometimes, herself, even though she is almost never seen without a smile plastered across her square muzzle.

After setting out on the path to adventure, to prove herself, she has begun to learn of the both beautiful, and horrible world of Azeroth, and beyond. All of the races, cultures, foods, and climates are brand new worlds to her, and she can often be seen jotting down notes about this-n-that, chronicling everything she comes by in her gigantic tome that... SOMEhow fits in her backpack... It's probably enchanted... She doesn't know a whole lot about the rest of the world, and her ignorance to such has gotten her in trouble many, many times! (Slaying a few Forsaken, a few Death Knights... Befriending a few Night Elves, escorting a Gnome to Thunder Bluff as an apology for tripping over it... The list goes on and on) Only 2 weeks after she has set out, she bumped into the handsome and clever PartedHair. Just a few days after meeting Parted, lo and behold! He introduced her to the rest of the Nyx guild, and the rest is history!
