((You know by submitting a name, you kinda put yourself on the line. i.e. People might not like it, you might change your mind, lots of things. With that said, It doesn't help that 75% of this thread is people not in the Ward and of higher positions saying they don't like it. I may have misread the original post, but this thread was for Lore members to brainstorm. Claiming to dislike the idea before a name is even decided upon greatly impedes on the creative process. nnWhile that fraction of my sentence may lead you to believe so, I was saying that expressing the discontent impedes peoples willingness to stick their neck out and come up with ideas. For example, there are starting to be anonymous submissions. The contributions all have made are fantastic but for all we know the name that will unify everyones opinion may have been scared away and that is not a risk worth taking in my opinion.nnnnEdit: That remark meant that I posted my issues on the topic without suggesting ideas, which was the point of my post. Warburn did tell Ianodil that he would hear suggestions. He at no time told him to start this Poll as if it were a done deal.nnIanodil presumed far to much, and was repeatedly disrespectful. That is being discussed, and will be addressed. It's not the participant's faults.nnIn the meantime, in the spirit of cooperation as I have already stated, I have made reasonable suggestions to participate if the Ward really wants to seriously consider a new name. And added later that there IS a very real spacing criteria on our in game socials panel that prevents the ward names from being very long (hence Ward of this or that).nnIF you want more suggestions that would fit or work, happy to contribute. And happy to watch what you create, and will seriously consider any appropriate suggestions that result from this that will FIT and make sense - INCLUDING doing all the forum and in game administrative work (which will be massive) on every single Ward member that will result from a change of this nature. Aitana also indicated she's up for the task, should a name change be agreed to.nnRemember, you are not just talking about editing the hand full of folks that are presently participating... We have over 220 (?) accounts with multiple alts on each one, many of which are currently aligned with the Ward of Lore. I enjoy the Ward of Lore and think the name fitting... But at the same time, I'd not feel a part without helping it grow. So while I do not think it needs a change, I offer a potential name if it suits the ward to change it. The thought I had was: Sage's Ward.

I'm all for new ideas and/or names. I can still live with Ward of Lore since it pretty much sums up the definition of the ward. I got the impression that the meeting that was held on the 16th of June was not about the re-naming of "Ward of Lore," but ideas to expand and improve the ward itself. Outside of WoW, I'm a writer/scriptwriter and my biggest problem always leaves me staring at a blank screen trying to come up with a fancy title instead I could be gathering notes/research on plot points and write something untitled until finished. A title is the icing on the cake in my book. If we're having troubles coming up with a name, I think this is done wrong. nnThose in the ward of lore, please step forward and present any ideas or concerns to expand on existing problems within the ward that can be fixed or improved and we're all ears. I have a few ideas floating around but I won't spend wasted time on coming up with a title since it's less important than the final draft. To shed some light on one of those ideas; At the meeting on the 16th of June, I proposed a theme for Lore each month. (Example: Ward of Lore: Tremors. or Ward of Lore: Ripples in the Water) These sub-themes would identify the happenings within the ward as each month passes leading up to Cataclysm. This one idea is built on the premise that all who within the ward of lore, war, trials and g&n share parts of their characters' storyline adding to the monthly theme. (i.e., exmaples above) Then at the end of each month before starting a new theme, we reflect on what has occurred within the wards and their character backstories mixed with the theme. The problem with this idea is that not all guild members strive on heavy roleplaying. This is one of the best ideas I can muster. But it's also late in coming.nnI'll repost again but I'd much rather see ideas than names. Ward of Lore is easy to remember by many. It's been with the guild since the start and has only been changed once. In the meantime, I'll continue to come up with ideas only on the issue which is directly relevant to the subject in question. Should we be so concerned on the title when all we want is to improve the ward?

That's what this thread is in the first place.

I am very much in favor of ..The ward of Legends...cause we keep lore and we create the legends of nyx...lore is history and stories ...where as legends...as a great person said I think it was the great bambeeno ...Legends never die... I like to think of what our characters do as creating a legend ..the legend of Nyx.))
