Specific questions when people apply to the guild.

Postby Mazoul » Sun Aug 15, 2010 9:30 am

Right now the questions we ask are the following. n nWhat is Your [char] Name: n nCharacter Level: n nClass: n nTalent Spec: n nWhich Ward are you applying for? n(See the top section about Wards here.) n nWhat are your personal goals for the game? n nHow Did You Hear About Nyx? n nWhat does being a member of a guild mean to you? n nWhat sort of guild are you looking for? n nWhat would you bring to Nyx? n nWhat is your attitude to RP? n nDo you consider yourself a low, medium, or heavy role-player? n nHow often do you Roleplay in-game? n nWhat was your previous guild and reason for leaving: n nList any references you have of someone else who can tell us more about you: n nIf you are a server transfer or cross faction transfer or changed names, list previous name(s) of this character. If you have ever transferred this character from another server to Emerald Dream, also list each server that character has been on from level 1 to the present: If this character has always been on the Horde side of Emerald Dream and never changed the name, leave this blank. If you had to change your name for privacy reasons, please contact Asarelah or Aitana so this can be handled privately. n nWhat are your usual Playing Times (include specifics if you are applying for the Ward of Trials and progression raiding): n nAnything else you wish to share?: n n nWhich are fine do not get me wrong but they are not specific to wards. From that I do not know what they can raid if they go for trials. I do not know how they PVP if they go for war. All we know is that they want to apply for that ward. Sure we have the nightwarders sign off on them. I think it would help if the question where specific to the ward. For example for trials we could ask. n n n n1. Raid Experience? n2. Can you make all our raid days/times? List any conflicts: n3. Does your computer... function? [y/n]: n4. Link a screenshot of your in-combat raiding UI: n5. What rotation or priority do you use? This includes healers/tanks. If DPS, explain what DPS we might expect from you. Link(s) to WWS/WOL/WMO parses are a plus. n6. Briefly explain how you typically ensure you are prepared for a given raid? n n n nI know some people will say that it is not necessary. I belive that to get better people we need to ask more questions? This is for trials but other wards can have their own questions also. Like Lore might want a back story for their character. War might ask them what they do in BG or arena?nnThis is just something I have been thinking about and after the war meeting I figured I post it. All this is a idea that we might want to talk about and see if we want to make it work for the guild?
Never argue with stupid people they only bring you down to their level and win by experience.

nnEach Ward leader has been encouraged to become more active in the HoJ procedure and we are moving in that direction as quickly as we can. G&N has already implemented a G&N Mission Statement that new applicants must sign off on before they will be considered for G&N.nnSee some of the recent HoJ applications in particular for G&N, or for Lore, as both those Wards are already stepping up. You will find a few in the Hall of Judgment that are still pending. You will also find more in the Hall of Records, of folk that are already guild members recently.nnWe encourage each Ward to discuss this internally and decide what standards, if any, or what actions they wish taken in the HoJ process for their particular Ward.nnPlease do start a discussion thread on this in the Ward of War section and see what can be decided upon. I will be delighted to see it worked in to our entry process.

nJust to make sure I understood you correctly, would we ask those questions of everybody or just the people that apply to Trials?

nnI'm sure he means only ask this of the people who would apply to Trials which is why the other Wards could easily do what we in G&N already do and add our additional message to any G&N applicants. But that would be left up to the Ward Leader or their assistant should they take one. *Cough*

They should only be asked to Trial. Each ward can ask their own question. I think that it is important to know how they play their toon. I can see that this might have some problems also. Cause we have people crossing over to each ward. So it is not perfect but at least it is a start. n nMaybe we can have a subsection in the application area. That has each wards questions that they have to fill out. With the original NYX questions also. Like if you apply to ward of war the use this application. If you apply to ward of Lore use this this application ect. n nMost of the question we ask do not ask how or what you can do for us. Or if they understand their class at all. I think we should be looking for people that can help their wards grow. By asking them question on how they plan to help the ward that they are applying to.

If the issue involves a member from another ward, go to that ward’s leader or umbral champions.nnnThis is nice for G&N. Each ward like Loco said should make their own questions or something.

nnThat is PRECISELY what we are hoping for !! But each Ward needs to discuss this internally. If you are for Trials, please start this discussion in the Trials forum, and make sure Warzen see's it.nn*grins, rolling eyes*
