Absent-mindedly scratching Sorrow behind his ear, Eyesore considered Maledicta's question. How had he and his lion fared over the past year? Looking at her, he wondered the same. Could one of the Forsaken even be considered to fare well or poorly? She stood by the fire, but could she feel the heat? He knew she could feel the abstract emotions; love, rage, friendship, but could she feel physical ones? How had she truely been?
"We have fared well enough, Maldicta, everything considered. It takes more to get moving than it used to, and the aches take longer to work out, but we do well enough. I have been training up a Kalari hatchling to give Sorrow a rest, but with the constant threat, I am not sure there is such a thing as rest. Times have been hard."
"You, however, look much as I remember you. But we both know that looks can deceive. You have traveled far, Maledicta, mayhap too far? Gods know I have missed you. So tell me, how have you been? And how fares Forensia? You say she is resting. Is she well?"
Eyesore gestured for his old friend to pull up a chair.
