The holdt is Pãin's home (and has great value to me personally) I vote for Ravenholdt due MANY different reasons.

Not to priase Kingship but one thing they did was pick a good base of operations. With one boat hitting northrend and the other hitting the shorese of Kalimdor along with easy and fast access to stormwind and ironforge. As well as above average guards for defence. The ones chosen here have none of those advantages asside from " easily defended" ravenholt. However that is a sacred place for rogues and come Cata with the promise of new rogue content will be swarming with them. You think one rogue is bad... try every rogue on the server each trying to complete and do rep grinds that they should of been doing since the vanella all decending on The Manor at all hours. Also one way in is one way out as well... the ability to outnumber whomever we post there will be easily accomplished and not only will they be slaughtered but camped in our own "home" as well. nnWere it not for the fact that every lowbie would die screaming trying to get to them the necropolises in ZD would of served very well.

As brought up last night, does Nyx need a physical location in WoW for a home?nn- Without a physical location, people have a bit more freedom on where they are in WoW but where their character 'really is'. n- Could try of turning g-chat into a place w/o the hearthstone and just have it as the main home with a scyering stone to look in on members. n- Most races of the Horde are very very nomadic. Only the Elves and Undead have housing that was meant to last. Orc's, Tauren's, and Trolls have made housing but out of the time of war. Otherwise, if you look closely, everything can be moved.nnHaving an textual house will also promote rp as people have to come and go, sit, cook, eat, sleep, in the large chambers or whatever the leaders choose to make.nnP.S. Tribe Nyx has an implication of nomadic, so tents and basic campfires anyone?

nnI really LIKE that idea. A roving camp. Then KotE and NMM will NOT be able to sit an wait for us to gather.

Those are some good points. And I am tempted to go with them except for one thing, the players behind the character are still human. And having a home makes us feel as though we belong somewhere. Something to defend, to take pride in, to write stories about, to live in...nnIt is arguable that the Lady Nyx herself provides that common bond, but since she's rarely around in corporeal form, she not something we can "rally" around and defend. You want a chance to kick Kingship's ass thoroughly? Get a homebase for Nyx and have a meeting there. It will be too much for them to ignore.

I believe that we should be on the lookout for something very defendable somewhere. While I like Ravenholdt and the human servants it offers, the landscaping may change after Cataclysm. nnI say we table this discussion until we see the new terrain. We have gone over 4 years without a home, another 4 months will not do us harm. nnPatience... patience...

Perhaps our thoughts should center on "after Cata" we found a need for a permanent home rather than our nomadic life before Cata?
