The departure of Barefoot

Postby Aitana » Sun Feb 08, 2009 5:25 am

Barefoot has left Lady Nyx's service to start a new guild. She is doing this so she can lead her own smaller raiding guild. She wants to be able to set playing skill requirements that don't fit with the casual atmosphere of Nyx, and to be able to recruit raiders that aren't interested in RP. Barefoot has been a key member of our raids and a valuable member, officer and friend. She will be missed.

Teon, Baelphias, and Taldor have already joined her. There will be more members of Nyx that will leave for her guild as well. If you are planning on joining Barefoot's new guild, please do so quickly and don't drag out the pain. It hurts to see you all go, but we don't want to hold you back if Nyx does not provide what you are looking for in a guild. By making a clean break you will enable the healing to start sooner.

This will be a painful time as we replace a valued officers. If you are interested in applyiing for Umbral Champion of one of our wards, please let an officer know.

At this time we do not know how this will affect raids this week. We will keep you posted as we have more information.

i woke up this morning...

so excited with the way last night's raid was. completely stoked because i finally got the 4th piece of my tier 7.5 (had been trying for so long).

we even started going through new areas of Naxx, which gave me the "wow, we are getting good at this, now we can check out some new content") and of course, awesome loot that goes with it.

then, i saw this...

As guilds grow larger and larger -- and Nyx has grown larger without there being an active recruitment process -- groups of people that want to focus on one aspect or another grow larger and larger. No guild can be all things to all people and we are no exception. People have left Nyx in the past and they will do so in the future, we should part on good terms always, even if we are sad.

If there is any grievance or disagreement with affairs within Nyx, everyone, from the Oracles to the newest season 20 Ephemeral, should be encouraged to make that grievance known. If there is anything we can do to keep people within the guild and happy to be in the guild, while remaining true to what Nyx is, we should do it. If people feel they must move on, then we should wish them well and we should not tarnish their name after they are gone.

How a guild behaves in good times is not a true test of how it is, how it behaves in times like this, when we are sorely wounded, is.

In these times, I would also like to let everyone know that there is a silver lining to this cloud: Gorehorn has returned to Nyx. His presence is most welcome.

I wish that something could have been worked out within Nyx but I suppose I really don't have a say in all this. I attend Nyx raids occasionally when I am needed, if I am available. But as I've always said--whatever makes people happy. I think no less of anyone and wish the best for everyone on their way.

As for me, I must stay within the presence of Lady Nyx.

No point in beating ourselves up over this.

Thank you to those who are staying!
Thank you to those from outside the guild who have showed solidarity. And thank you to those who have made a commitment to help us heal and re-grow.
Echoing Bhoo and Gore, this is a blessing in a painful disguise. Everyone who is staying in Nyx are growing closer and loved ones who left for one reason or another will re-join or have already.
Welcome back Gorehorn, Rekeme and Skeggold!

We are going to continue to be Nyx. We will pwn pve content. We will be feared by our enemies and respected by our allies. More then ever!!!

And to those who have left, I wish you good luck. If you'd like to come back you may re-apply. Our wounds will heal faster the more of you come back ;)

p.s.
I removed this from the global announcement status it had.
