After the Wedding

Postby Leothiel » Mon Nov 02, 2009 5:21 pm

*Stormwind, Sunday night*nnThaelen, Anaria, and Vira Frosthawk arrived at their home in the Stormwind Park District. They had a week back in their homeland of Quel'thalas. Vira started writing in the journal Leothiel made for and gave to her. Anaria was reaching full term in her pregnancy while Thaelen realized that he would need to hire a midwife. Vira thought about the orc, troll, and tauren children she saw around Silvermoon. Thaelen delighted at seeing his household as one again. Anaria was happy and torn apart at the same time as the things she learned on magic addiction and magic sickness came to the foreground of her mind. My child, she thought as she put her hand on her womb, I pray to the Light you don't have to suffer or be corrupted.nnAfter the household unpacked, Thaelen resumed his writing about the lands. Anaria was busy playing with Vira and getting her school books back in order for the following morning before putting her to bed. Vira, do not be consumed by the allure of magic.nn*Fairbreeze, same time*nnAfter Leothiel's patrols in Northrend, it was time for one more celebration of the followers of the Lady Nyx. Wiindriider's promotion to Umbral Champion of Growth and Nourishment was to be done in Nyx style: Ceremoniously. There was drinking that night and rumors of an upcoming wedding within the tribe. Even Leothiel and Oneille had well-wishers in regard from the night before. Leothiel was still recovering his strength from his very long first night with Oneille. After some of the festivities, Leothiel whispered to Oneille "Shall we head off to Tanaris?" She said "Yes." They said their farewells to the party and everyone wished them a good honeymoon. The plan was three nights in Tanaris on a secluded beach.nnThey arrived in Gadgetzan with Alliance presence in their usual seasons. Leothiel did not take a direct route to the beach. They arrived at a secluded location where Leothiel broke out the bottle of wine from Wiindriider. The happy couple made a toast and a drink and kicked off their shoes. They looked at the stars some more. Then someone was approaching. Not one, but two: A hunter and a paladin. They opened fire on the unarmed newlyweds. They were from Kingship of the East. Leothiel had the spirit healer resurrect him but he was taken down again as they were standing vigil over his body. From the spirit world, he put out a call. The tribe Nyx gathered. Oneille managed to revive and escape to Freewind Post. There was intelligence that Kingship was advancing on her location. She left for Orgrimmar to set up a stone for summons.nnFrom the spirit world, Leothiel noticed that the draenei huntress Xaania stood by his location. The new rogue in the order, Velocitus, stunned the already stunning huntress, which allowed Leothiel time to resurrect and be summoned into the heart of Orgrimmar. The mage was even more exhausted. Oneille returned to Silvermoon unharmed. Ishar pulled Leothiel to the side to talk with him. "They are tracking you two." Leothiel wondered how. They talked for some time about how Kingship could respond with such precision and haste. After the discussion, Leothiel returned to Silvermoon. He told Azureus "Get good rest tonight for I have a mission for you in the morning that you need to do with great haste." Azureus was a bit saddend that night but after hearing that order, he flew to a windowsill to sleep. Leothiel went into the bedchamber where Oneille was sleeping. He undressed, blew out the candle and kissed Oneille and said "I am sorry Oneille, that I was unable to protect you tonight" before tucking in. Oneille turned around and gave Leo a kiss and put her arms around him. The only thing that was on Leothiel's mind as he slept was this being the second time that he and Oneille had been stalked by a large group.

The previous nights spent with Leothiel were passion filled, the image of two bodies twinge together in the heat of love making passed through her mind. Oneille felt her heart sink in her chest as the mocking laughter of the hunters and the Kingship trackers filled her ears. The pain of the evening subsided as she awoke with a start. Gasping loudly the elfmaiden scanned the room eyes peering deep into the void of night time. Dark shadows played across the moonlit household. Empty spaces danced with ink blotches of darkness providing fear. She shook as a cold sweat passed over her spine.nnBefore she could register what was happening, a hand grasped her wrist drawing her attention back to the bed. A pale figure emerged next to her, the face of her husband smiling back as sleep was obviously about him.nn"Leothiel?" she asked.nn"Hmm?" he stared at her, his arm running up hers now, releasing her wrist caressing the bare flesh. nnHer dark green eyes followed his hands as their touch feathered about her skin. Oneille felt her skin shiver at his touch, it seemed the more he crept over the more she felt her body growing warmer. Without much thought she pressed her lips to his, hands caressing his cheek, reaching up to thread through his flaxen mane. As her hands found him they trembled, soon the trembling became a shaking. Tears began to form as she brought herself to face him. Between lips staining him with kisses and her throat holding back sobs, Oneille loved on him till she grabbed about his neck and shoulders, rubbing down cheek resting at his shoudler.nn"Will these wars ever cease?" as her hands running over his face.nn"I..." he searched for the words and stop short unable to seek the answer. His wife cuddles tighter about his form, dragging her hands over his bare flesh resting at his wings, feeling their softness.nn"I don't care I just want you by my side," she looked at her hands as they gripped him noticing the signet ring bound to her. She admired the gift given and what it stood for.nnLeothiel nodded as his wife sought his lips again kissing him sensually, then breaking away trailing her kisses down his neck. nn"More than anything love I want you again, resting in your arms. I just hate the thought that I could loose you."nnLeothiel caressed his warlock wife's cheek as she brought herself to press against him, warm skin to warm skin, "Oneille...I..."nn"Leothiel this is us now, not just our respective wards but us now! And I refuse to see those bastards take you from me...ever." Carefully the elf maiden pushed away from Leothiel only to push him down onto his back once again. "Let's make use of our time...and I know just..how to..do that.." the last of the sentence trailed as both rested against one another.

*Morning following the Kingship attack*nnLeothiel woke up at the crack of dawn with guilt on his shoulders. The attack on him and Oneille at their honeymoon made him think about the integrity of his house as well as his father's. The thought of What if they manage to get a hold of our signet rings? floated through his mind since he arrived bloodied and injured in Orgrimmar. Even though the healers patched his body, the mass assault injured something even greater: His pride. His light sleep that night was only comforted by the presence of Oneille's body next to him intact once again. He went to the study and pulled out some parchment and a quill. On it, he wrote in shaky handwriting:nn"Father, Mother;nnWe were attacked last night on our honeymoonnnSoulbind your signet rings if you haven't done sonnYour son,nnLeothiel"nnLeothiel sealed the letter with his own ring. Azureus had been up for some time but was in a sad mood. Leothiel gave him instructions to return as quickly as possible but not directly. "When you deliver this message, you may be followed afterwards on your return as we were followed last night." Azureus left immediately. Leothiel then wrote to his brother telling him the same thing. Soon, he felt Oneille's comforting hands on his back followed by a kiss. "You did what you could to protect me last night." With that said, Leothiel's dour mood turned into a smile. He realized he was worthy of Oneille's heart the whole time. The feelings of guilt lifted from his shoulders and his pride had been repaired. Oneille asked "What are you writing about?" Leothiel answered "Warning my parents and my brother. Last night's attack made me wonder what would happen if these rings," he held up his signet, "fell into the wrong hands. I wrote to them to have their rings soulbound to them. We need to do so as well."nnLeothiel looked through more papers and packed some into a case. After he dressed, he went to a jewelcrafter to have his family ring bound to him. He then went to the Nyx headquarters, locked himself in his office and pulled out a paper that said "War Thesis" and started writing.nn(( Note: The "father" I refer to is not Jeriden, it's Thaelen, who is Leothiel's father. Jeriden never had a Frosthawk signet ring made for him :) ))nn(( Sitchenn made this thread in the ED Realm Forum: http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/threa ... 4932&sid=1 ))

Asarelah opened the door to the study where Leothiel was furiously scribbling on a scroll, and entered the room.nn“Leo, dear… you still look furious,” Lah said soothingly as she walked toward her care worn son-in-law. “Calm yourself please. You can not protect my daughter if your mind is clouded with rage. This will require a cool head; and your, as always, fiendishly cunning plans for counter assaults.”nnLeothiel looked up. “I know, mother. And that is precisely what I am doing right now,” he nodded indicating the work that he had in progress. “The Kingship will never know what hit them.” His voice growled menacingly, and he shook his fist. “They will pay for spoiling the honeymoon of my beloved lady wife!!”nnWith his declaration, Asarelah moved to a place behind her son, and glancing over his shoulder to view his writing, grinned wickedly as a look of keen admiration crossed her face.nn((Leo, please note that Jeriden is gone from the game, full stop. IF that is the “father” you are referring to, it is no longer appropriate, and Asarelah is in fact a widow and once again single by choice.))

The jewelcrafter admired the ring's beauty but he set to work binding it the young elf woman's being. His process was flawless and by the time he finished, gold paid, the elven crafter nodded and smiled, "Fit for a lady such as yourself."nnOneille tilted her head as the signet became soulbound to her. In the past four days since the wedding life has became anything but peaceful. Kingship and their lackeys scour the lands looking for new means to ruin the livelihood of Tribe Nyx. The warlock felmage left the jeweler in a hurry trying to make it back to the Silvermoon City Archives. Her gaze shift upward to the morning sun peering down through the canopies of the market rows, "So the sun guides me afterall, but why can't it bring peace."nnOneille wiped away the stray tear begging to fall down her cheek. The pangs of knowing what could happen cause her to shake. The elven maiden reached the court of the son only to notice a young couple, the mother holding her young daughter. This image set off a new reaction to Oneille...Roo. Her own adopted son was back in the Basin but now her own heart called out for a family again, a family with her white lion.

*Monday morning*nnAzureus left quickly with the message. His little wings could only give him so much speed at any given time. He even had to stop a few times along the way to catch his breath. Still, his master's orders were clear and the whelp could sense the danger he was in. The attack on Leothiel and Oneille scared Azureus some but not to the point of trembling and hiding. nnWhen Azureus arrived in Stormwind, it was the mid-afternoon. Thaelen was in the library of Stormwind. He recognized the whelp immediately and the seal on the letter. He thought The family crest.. I hope this is good news from his honeymoon. His momentary excitement contrasted Azureus' urgency and near-panic. He also wondered about his son. At lunch that day, the tavern had some drunken soldiers talking loudly about how they attacked an unarmed newlywed couple on the beach in Tanaris. Rumor spread throughout the city but Thaelen would have no part in gossip. When he opened the letter, it was very direct.nn"Father, Mother;nnWe were attacked last night on our honeymoonnnSoulbind your signet rings if you haven't done sonnYour son,nnLeothiel"nnThaelen beckoned Azureus to go with him and left the keep to warn Anaria. When he arrived in the cathedral, she was in tears. Someone had identified the honeymooning couple as blood elves someone commented "Serves those traitors right. Cut the line before the next child." Thalen walked up to the human making the comment, tapped him on the shoulder, and punched him with both hands rapidly and the human fell to the ground. "Thaelen! What are you doing?" Thaelen spoke up and grabbed the human and yelled "WHO WERE THEY?" The human replied "I know Frosthawk was the couple's last name. He's been quite the menace to the Alliance. Is he of any relation to her? If he is, it's a shame." Anaria ran out of the cathedral at that comment and Thaelen punched the human in the face again and left.nnThaelen had Azureus the whelp and Leothiel's short note in hand. One of the priestesses accompanied the Frosthawks as they went home. There was silence then the priestess spoke up, "Thaelen, that was completely unnecessary." Thaelen had a look of anger on his face and said "What was I supposed to do then, stand there and see my own wife tortured some more? This was my own son who was attacked on his honeymoon." Thaelen held up the note and asked the priestess "Can you read Thalassian?" "Yes I can read it."nnAfter Anaria calmed down, she asked "How do you know it was Leothiel and Oneille?" Thaelen showed her the note then passed it to the priestess. The priestess' heart sank very low and was found herself apologizing. Thaelen left to walk Vira home from school. If word is spreading like this, she may be next he thought. Thaelen kept Vira's ears covered as much as possible on the walk home. He did not want her to know from anyone that a mob attacked her brother and her sister-in-law, whom she regards as a sister. When they arrived home, he stooped, looked her in the eyes and said "Last night, some mean people attacked your brother and sister" then hugged her as to protect her. After letting go of her, he went to his wife Anaria and kissed her. He was at a point where he could tell her what needed to be done: Having their respective signet rings bound to their souls fist thing in the morning.nnAzureus spent the remainder of the day at the Stormwind Frosthawks' house, left after nightfall and stowed away on a steamer back to Northrend. He had Wyrmrest on his mind.

"Well the truth is out," Oneille lifted a brow at the young archivist before her, "you're really married. I thought it was all a rouse. I was wrong."nnHis name was Litette Firewrath a newly recruited cataloger falling under the wing of Oneille. The young scryer seemed eager to learn about his mentor than what she taught him, "Litette, stop! My personal life is not open for discussion. You should focus solely on the books we've received and not how my wedding night went..."nnLitette blushed, "Yes my lady."nnOneille nodded at him as she began to search through the documents on her desk, "Litette staring at me will not get your job done or make things any better." nn"Lady Frosthawk, it's odd to say that..." Oneille slammed the quill and parchment down.nn"Enough!" the anger in her voice echoed, trailing down the hallway as the young squire flenched.nn"Yes, second thought I am going to...uh...yes!" he ran turning on his heel and making way to the opposite side of the library.nnGrumbling, Oneille straightended in her chair. Her frustration mounted each time that squire popped his head in. The little goose was her new trainee but in recent days she's rather send the goose back with the ducks that produced him! There came a heavy sigh from rudy red lips. All too often, the newest scryers came under the tutelage of advising researchers as aides, yet Litette became an instant bane.nn"If that joker would stop asking inane questions!" Oneille groaned combing a hand through her crimson locks. Years ago she'd never find herself married and working as a librarian...now tis all a reality.nn=====================================nn*Silvermoon City, early afternoon*nnOneille finished her last document, pushing aside the parchment. There came a sigh of relief and a groan as her weary body stretched from time spent hunched over. Lunchtime. Oneille headed to the local tavern her mouth watering for roasted quail. She walked from the room, her hips swaying idly as each stride towards the brought her closer to freedom from the duldrums of work. The warlock's gaze shifted as she noticed the signet ring about her finger. nn"This small thing means all the world to Leothiel, his family, and me," smiling the elf maiden admired the signet once again before the rumbling of her stomach detoured her to the tavern. All the while, her thoughts drifted to Leothiel and his family.

*Tuesday morning, Stormwind*nnThaelen and Anaria escorted Vira to school then went to a jewelcrafter to have their rings soulbound. The cathedral found a suitable midwife for Anaria for when she would be ready to give birth. The midwife would also help with some of the household tasks. Vira had to endure taunts from non-elf younglings, especially humans. At school, things were more subdued. Even though there was distrust towards the sin'dorei, the teacher had the class take a moment of silence and a tribute that all elves will be united as one race again. This brought a smile to Vira's face. The day before, she talked about the Homeland of Quel'thalas, the Horde, and her brother's wedding. The mass attack on him hit very close to home for the class.nn*Northrend*nnAzureus spent the night on a rock on the shore. He was an outcast: His loyalty towards Leothiel put him against the Azure dragonflight and his scale color could deny him entry to Wyrmrest. He stayed along the coast evading Malygos' progeny and servants. When he arrived at Wyrmrest Temple, some guards marched towards them, but a red dragon intervened. "Come with me, Azureus, familiar of Leothiel Frosthawk." The red dragon invited Azureus to ride on him and took him to the Dragon Queen's court. Azureus bowed down to the Queen. One of her attendants picked him up and attempted to scry his scale. "Either Leothiel or Haleh can scry his scale for secrets." Azureus fell asleep and slept the rest of the day, but felt comfortable being around fellow dragonkin.nnThe following day, Azureus left Wyrmrest temple and slowly made his way to Silvermoon.

*Argent Tourney Grounds, Valiant's Ring*nnTwo lances darted with ramming speed at one another! The Jousting Tourney commenced. Several secptators gathered forth sitting at the sidelines watching as men and women of the Horde and fellow tribes fought for the right to be the champion. A loud cry and a weary mount passed in a flurry of flesh and steel. The banners of homelands flew in the evening moon rising on the frozen heights of Icecrown. The jousting began with many sets of participants, before soon the whole gathering came down to the last two: Leothiel one of them. With a swift hawkstrider and a strong lance he gallantly attacked, parried, and destroyed all the competition before him. Though he had the power and the skill his mind drifted, his wife could tell. Oneille watched from the fenceline wondering what was on his mind. Here he enjoyed the competition, loving the power he had in his skill.nnAmiya announced the winner and without much contest Leothiel won. He has secured his victory but for Oneille she felt that he was lacking something in that victory.nn*Wednesday evening, Durotar*nnOneille sat there entranced by the coastline, her mind focused on the waters. In Durotar the winds brought warmth. Grinning behind her back she began to strip down to her under garments, giving a show to her love but feeling the cooling waters. Her hand glided through the cool, crystal waters of the coast. Leothiel's mood was dark and brooding, his frustration with the war and the ruined honeymoon still raged in his heart. Oneille gathered her wits and splashed him, he still kept his mood but a smile gradually formed. nnAfter a playful bout of chasing and cuddling on the beach of Durotar, Leo and Onei settled near a campfire. All that was left to the evening as talk of going back to Silvermoon and making use of the time they had. One aspect of the night Oneille hoped had crossed is mind was this: his power was in more than just his abilities but his heart above all else. Oneille loved the mage elf for his heart and his soul, nothing would ever change that.

*Wednesday before the Jousting Tournament*nnLeothiel returned to Silvermoon to prepare for the tournament and to do something he has not had time to do: Unpack his boxes in the study. He opened the boxes of books and sorted them on the shelves. He put his papers in a drawer in the desk and had a special place for his correspondence. The last thing he unpacked was his bookbinder. Although the apartment was small, it was larger than the one he left to his brother in Dalaran. Soon, he heard a tap on the window: It was Azureus. Leothiel let him in. Azureus greeted his master very excitedly. "Welcome back. I wonder where you've been. What secrets do you have for me?"nnHe went to the scrying bowl and formula that Haleh taught him to make. He saw and heard the scenes from Stormwind being replayed. His mother broken over hearing the news that her son and new daughter-in-law had been attacked on their honeymoon and someone taunting her. This was the second time he had seen his father very angry to the point of not using spells, but fists. Thank you, father was what he thought. He also found out why Azureus had taken so long: Not only was he trying to evade Alliance even though they weren't looking for him, he was evading the wayward flight of Malygos. Leothiel also overheard the draconic whispers around Wyrmrest. Deathwing has been too quiet lately.nnLeothiel set Azureus on a windowsill to let him rest. Kim, Oneille's worg came in and put his mane under Leothiel's hand to motion to him to pat his mane. Leothiel said "Watch over Azureus." Kim bowed and kept watch under the windowsill. After the mage had his possessions unpacked, he went to the trunk his father had given him and placed it under the desk. Time to prepare for the tournament. He changed his clothes into something more befitting of representing Quel'thalas and left for Icecrown: This was a guild event, but he was going to represent the Horde, Quel'thalas, his house, and Oneille.nn*The morning after the tournament*nnOneille woke up seeing Leothiel still sleeping. She gave him a gentle kiss, which stirred him then woke him. "Even your kiss rouses me from sleep" then kissed her on the lips again. After Leothiel dressed, he examined the trunk from his father. It had sensuous carvings of naked kaldorei on the outside. The inside was cushioned. He removed the cushions to examine the inside of it. There was a piece of parchment. He could barely read the first set of names but recognized the names on the bottom. These are the previous owners he thought. On the bottom of the list, he wrote "Leothiel Frosthawk - Oneille Brightgrove". He then had a thought and acted on it. He made a duplicate copy of that list and put the original back in the box. The first of my children to marry will have this. He folded the duplicate copy to have some research done to it.
