Horde Assembly Meeting

Postby Myyah » Sun Dec 13, 2009 10:24 pm

Tonight, a meeting regarding the Horde Assembly's current status and future was held with the following in attendance: nMyself representing Nyx; Elizsha, Khazanthael, Thanoss and Ianodil of the Azerothian Dreamers; Badkharmah representing the Council of the Fallen and Manashnee of the Blackmoon Tribe; Azeri of House ShadowswornnnWe began by my asking the question, "what are the current feelings , criticisms, viewpoints of the Assembly and the Horde Assembly channel". The responses given included the the Assembly has withered due to a reduced threat from the Alliance since the end of the war with Kingship. Blackmoon Tribe noted that they felt a bit excluded due to a password change that had happened a few months ago, and when the password was reset, the new password was never given to the Blackmoon ( a moot point presently, but there are a bit of hurt feelings on their part, as they feel a bit neglected). The other guilds had no specific complaints other than the fear that the Assembly may be of little use since the war had ended. With that said, all guilds present were interested in it's revival. nnEach guild has pledged to go back to their tribes and request that each member subscribe to the channel, pay attention to the channel chat and respond to requests for help if at all possible. We also have determined that more interguild communication needs to occur, so that the members appearing on the Horde Assembly channel are recognizable, and are therefore more likely to be helped in situations of need. Admittedly , we are all more likely to help those we know, than those we don't. nnOne other proposal that came out was the request that more interguild activities occur, such as invitations to other guilds for parties, social events, raids, etc. Each representative stated that they will endeavor to include one another in appropriate venues up to including an Assembly representative from each guild attending other guild's meetings, all with the purpose of gaining recognition and comradery amongst each other. We are beginning the process with the subscription to the Horde Assembly channel and by asking each of our guild mates to join asap. nnSo here's me doing my part and asking each member of the Nyx: please join Hordeassembly on your chat channel... read it ... say hello to those from our Assembly Guilds who hop on (paying mind that there are some people that are on the channel that are not part of our Assembly and do not warrant our acceptance..e.g. Brotherhood of Bloodmoon does appear from time to time, and other eavesdroppers from Sinister Syndicate) , respond cries for help, answer questions posed if you can. The war may be over now, but that may not always be the case. If another war were to occur, we would certainly want to have a living and healthy network of Horde Guilds already in place to rally.. and the Horde Assembly channel is the lifeblood and circulation system of such a network. nnWe ended the Assembly meeting by Hunting down a Level 80 Dwarf Paladin who was invading the area. I am happy to report we started using Horde Assembly chat right away to assist us in the hunt. :) nnMyyah Atreydes

Good question Thulcondar! nnIn your social tab, click on the Chat Tab. nThen Select "Add" in the lower right hand cornernThe type in "hordeassembly" in the channel name nThere is NO passwordnPress ok and you are in ! nnI also changed the color of that Channel. For you or those that might not know how to change the color:nIn the main screen, hover your pointer above the Messaging area the lower left hand corner, where you see all the guild chatter and such. A Tab called "General" should appear. nRight click on that tab, select SettingsnSelect Global Channels, and locate the Horde Assembly channel in the panel to the right of that area. nThere is a Color box to the right of each channel you have. Choose from there!nnHope that helps ! nnMyyah

Are they invited to our Wed night party? If Aitana or Lah approve of it (I am all for it), please invite our brothers and sisters of the other RP guilds.

I haven't actually had the chance to talk to either of them yet, but that was one of the things I was going to bring up-- how we go about inviting others to our events and what events are and aren't appropriate. nnI'm sure they'll come to whatever we invite them to, they all seemed very positive and willing to try and re-assembly the Assembly!

Assembly Update: nnAs I continue my efforts in interviewing those from the fragmented Assembly, I find myself running into a wide range of emotions--emotions that are highly charged. Some express very positive emotions and desire greatly for a re Assembly, and some are vehemently against any vague mentioning of this, vowing never to work with such a construct. nnSeveral things come to mind at this stage: I need a deeper history of the Assembly, from the Nyxian vantage point, from anyone here willing to offer it. I well understand that a viewpoint is just that, a viewpoint. From different angles, I can attempt to reconstruct the most accurate and encompassing history of this organization. The sole purpose of this would be in knowing it's history, we would not be doomed to repeat it,, or at least have a fighting chance in not repeating it. nnA 2nd phenomenon is also occuring. Everyone I have interviewed, or even casually spoke to about the Assembly offers me a different undertstanding of what they feel the Assembly is *for* . It's purpose. nnWhen I volunteered for this project and was given Asarelah's blessing to do so, we spoke about this purpose. Gleening from our conversation, conversations with others, and from information I knew about the Assembly Pre-Nyx, my understanding of it's purpose was to provide a medium of communication, via the horde assembly chat, for all subscribing Assembly guilds and their members to call upon their comrades in times of *overwhelming* Alliance attack. A virtual NORAD if you will, whose subscription to such has been approved by each guild's leaders for purposes of political stance, and individual by choice, as to who specifically within each guild wants to answer these types of cries for help and who wants to use this alert system to ask for help. This is my understanding of it's *only* purpose. nnWith that said, here is my understanding of what it is not. It is NOT a means of LFG.. it is NOT a means of requesting a place in line at a desired Raid.. it is not NOT another governing body to which we must answer to. It is not a United Nations, from which a shadow government seeks to control all subscribing guilds. With all that I understand it NOT to be, I am also hearing that this is what it evolved into.nnI would like to hear anyone's constructive opinions and information regarding their stand point, their own understanding and such regarding this issue. Perhaps the key in the attempt to reconstruct the Assembly for it's original and sole purpose would be to get to a very clear understanding of what it is and what it is not, communicate this to all subscribing guilds and their subscribing members within each of these guilds, and to make sure that this definition does not advertently or inadvertently evolve into something else. nnMyyah Atreydes

If you are sort of our "official contact" with this assembly, maybe you could write to/and request a sit down with the other "official contacts" from the guilds represented and hash out a simple mission statement and some rules for the channel. I consider Nyx to be the elder rp guild horde side here, so naturally it would fall to us to take a leadership role in any group such as this and lay down the ground work. I'd be more than happy to lend a hand in helping you to do this, or accompanying you in trying to get a solid purpose for the channel. nnEssentially my opinion is that the channel should be used as a calling to/for war. Due to the size of the Alliance guilds we run into and the fact that they stick pretty tightly together nowadays, I feel the channel should be used as a tool to quickly rally allies in defense of our capitols or attacking bands of alliance. It would be nice to think that we too can rally large numbers quickly if need be as our enemies seem to be able to do. nnSwanthula and myself are planning some rather large rp events soon that we would like to invite some of the other rp based horde guilds to, so a channel like this could also be useful for that. nnNo one needs another channel with people randomly recruiting for raids/dungeon runs or just blabbling endlessly, so establishing some rules of etiquette for the channel would be favorable I would think. nnAnyhow good luck, and let me know if you need a hand or would like some backup.

Assistance in this would be most welcome, Dracmorda, Thankee!nnI spoke with Aitana the other night, who gave me a summary history of the Assembly and what it's purpose was designed for. nnThe Assembly was designed for the call to/for war, as you described. It also was a way for the RP members to stay in touch to call for an RP Session, and was designed for the Sister guilds to draw from one another to fill up slots in 10 and 25 man raids. It definately is not designed for guild recruitment, but general chatter that serves to strengthen our bonds between the guilds is encouraged. nnTo this point, I have been working with Azerothian Dreamers, who have joined on the channel and are actively participating. We just need more of them to do so. I have some subscription from House Shadowsworn, but they are currently embroiled in some guild drama that involves the Death of Eviannya. Manashnee of the Blackmoon Tribe has stepped down at the guild's ambassador, and has turned me over to Sanjin, the guild master--but to this point, he and I aren't syncing on our schedules. Assault on Alliance is not interested at all. I still need to contact Crimson Mercenaries and Hand of the Phoenix is currently in turmoil but I have an established relationship with Shixenfeng, but he is always busy on Raids as of late. nnI have a few more clans to get a hold of at the suggestion of Aitana, but my notes are out of reach at this moment. I'll be in touch with you when I awaken in Azeroth next. nnMyyah
