It'll be interesting to see what micro-transactions they will be including in their cash shop equivalent to continue to make money off WoW.

I dread the day this happens.

I would not expect WoW to go free-to-play until the subscribers mark hits under 1-2 million.

Agreed, they won't do it till they have much fewer players. Realm merges will probably happen in and around the same time to consolidate the number of people they have.nn/wild speculationnFreeing up their other servers to run the new MMO or be sold off.

If they implement teh Facebook/Activision advertising blitz, simply selling off and using the information the current player base will more than make up the revenue of making WoW free. nnWorld of Facebook will have to be free to have people continue to play it.

Yes, free World of Warcraft is my worst nightmare. As long as we're paying $15 a month, as customers we can demand that Activision/Blizzard not cruft up the game with too much crap designed to generate revenue. If the game goes free, all bets are off.nnGiven the direction the game is going, I find myself increasingly hoping that someone else comes up with a game that's as fun as World of Warcraft. Sadly, nobody has even come close in the time since WoW has been around.

I think I would go to another game even if it's not as fun because I can't stand this idea. Either that or I would quit altogether ))
