Nyxian Recipe Book

Postby Cobriana » Tue Nov 16, 2010 10:50 pm

With the holidays coming, I thought it would be nice to share some recipes with each other..nnhere my first one..nnCobri's Mom's Turkey dressingn - Guaranteed to taste awesome at dinner, and if there are leftovers, with over-easy eggs the next dayn - I Don't guarantee it wont give you high cholesterol...nnIngredientsnOne turkey 6-10 lbs - whatever will feed your family - thawed thoroughlynOne loaf of bread - I usually use white or wheat but any normal sized sliced loaf will donOne dozen or so eggs - Med/LargenOne lb of bacon - Pork smoked is best, turkey is a lower fat option - will require more eggs but just doesn't taste as good IMO, don't use canadian bacon...nDash of black peppernnYou will need a Mixing bowl, a cake pan/lipped baking sheet, a clean kitchen towel, a skillet, and clean hands(because its fun to get messy in the kitchen!)nnNight before you cook - tear the bread into about one inch pieces - don't cut it up, it ruins the texture in the end. Dry out the bread by spreading it in the baking sheet, covering it with a towel and setting it in a cool dry place until ready to prepare.nnPrep ncut the bacon into half inch strips along the length of the meat, fry it up, DON'T DRAIN! let cool to just above room temp. After the bacon is fried to crispy, crack about 6 eggs into the mixing bowl, adding the bread over it. Pour the bacon, grease and all over the bread. reach in with clean hands and Mix up till all the eggs and grease are soaked up, if the mixture is still on the dry side, add More eggs until thoroughly moistened. fill thawed turkey with stuffing and bake as you normally would. when you carve the turkey, you will have an amazing loaf of awesomeness!

I think this will be on the menu for Thanksgiving. My wife is going out for most of the day and I have to cook so she can't say no. :)
