Nyx in the Cataclysm Era

Postby Warburn » Thu Dec 02, 2010 11:09 pm

Mah dear Ordah of Nyx,nnWe're all itching for it... We each wish to discover the lands beyond the mountains to the East, the Twilight Highlands, and the gate to Uldum has broken open. Deathwing has emerged... the Shattering has happened, and the Cataclysm is upon us. nnIt is a time of change. And with it the Oracles, Aitana and myself, want the guild to change too for the better. And that is the message of this thread:nnGuild Changesn1. Desegregate the guild. Wards are no longer going to be exclusive. Anyone can join any ward event they want, as they always could. The only two exceptions are going to be progression raiding and rated BGs. Skill, gear and even attendance is going to be the deciding factor. The success of these events will play a big role in our guild advancing in levels quicker, which is a huge change I'll go into detail below. Players may now join any ward they'd like, or none at all, as long as they meet the requirements and standards set by it's Nightwarder. WE ARE NYX- WE ARE ONE.n2. Progression Raiding will be taken more seriously. Warzen and Cobriana are going to be stricter on who gets drafted to progression raids. They may even implement a loot system, to reward those who show up and "incentivize" people to sign up and show up on time.n3. New guild charter will be published within the week.n4. Guild leveling - this is the feature that will require us all to do our part.nnGoalsn1. get as many of our members as possible to 85, as soon as possible! n2. get two 10 man raid groups through heroics and into Darkwing Descent asap.n3. get regular guild rated BG groups running those asap.n4. continue to develop our individual member RP and and our guild lore as a whole. Through gchat, friendly gatherings and planned events.n5. get as many of each of the available professions to 525 asap!nnGuild AdvancementnCheck out this link. It lists some pretty sweet rewards we can unlock by fulfilling guild achievements. Our ultimate goal is to level Nyx to level 25 asap. Not sure how fast our guild will level or how long that may take, but at level 25 we unlock the Scorpion mount, and probably everything else there is to get.nnAchievements we should all be working on collaboratively:nDungeon Diplomat - get exhalted in all listed reps. Reward is the scorpion mount. But requires Guild Level 25. Time to farm rep!nA class act - should be one of our first achievements.nA daily routine - Could be achieved if 20 members do 10 dailies each a day for 75 days straight. The more members do dailies, and the more dailies we collectively do, the quicker we may all purchase a Guild Banner of Coordination.nAlliance Slayer- Our warriors in War can achieve this so that others can buy the Guild Page companion.nnnCode of HonornI hope to update the Nyx Code of Honor as well, before the Cataclysm Era begins. Things like tea-bagging the enemy has never been something the Oracles condoned, for example. We want to be a force to be feared yet also respected. In time of yore, victorious warriors never squatted down on vanquished foes and rubbed their privates in their faces. What I'm saying is squatting or what have you on fallen players is not an accepted form of RP. This is but a small example of the level of honor Nyxians are expected to adhere to. The rule of thumb is, if it's disrespectful to do to a Lady in RL - don't do it in game. We are Horde, battle hungry and thirsty for blood, but we're also honorable and respectable. Nyx should epitomize that.

Speaking for myself, I refrain from emoting at vanquished foes at all. nnThe fact that they're dead and I'm not pretty much says it all. (Well, maybe it says I just got lucky, but still ...)

Suggest folks look through the details on the rewards and at least skim the requirements for the guild achievements - some of the rewards are pretty amazing and some of the requirements shouldn't be that difficult for a guild our size, especially if we do a minimum of coordinating.nnHere's to more Guild raids - woot (among other fun activities)

We'll still have casual raiding for those of us unable to do a strict raiding schedule right?

I would guess that casual raiding will start up once the first round of raids are on farm status, which will probably take a few months. Those raiding in heroic 5-man gear will be in a "progression" group even if they are not a regular attendee.nnI would also guess that there will always be a slot available here and there in our raids, if things go according to history, so if you are interested in raiding but you don't plan on raiding every week, keep your gear, gems, and enchants up to date and sign up for raids and there will probably be a spot for you a fair amount of the time.

Emoting at vanquished foes.... All I do if I beat someone, if anything at all, is throw a banner on their corpse. If I happen to be on my Forsaken, I also cannibalize their corpse if I can and they haven't released. I'm assuming IC things such as this, as long as its not excessive, are allowed?nnnBut I agree with all of this. All good stuff.
if Quentin Tarantino did movies in the World of Warcraft...
