You probably have an advantage being a girl on the forums because they all probably have little crushes on you and want to read every post you make.

Isn't that the point though? From what I thought maybe she wouldn't want the advantage because of it

Interesting to hear from the women of Nyx (thanks). There is indeed a different standard when its just men versus men & women together. Sometimes this is good, and sometimes bad. Knowing who you are with and drawing clear lines with some people can make things much better so no is offended.

here is my example from WoW - again please dont hate me for my comments, thats just what they are - In one of my guilds, its ALL hetero men (all US & canadian). Its a lot of fun - none of the men censor themselves - mostly they range in age 30-50, married with kids. It can be the most perverted guild. I wouldnt trade the atmosphere, its freaking hilarious sometimes. We rank on each other and it can be pretty harsh - but its all fun & games - just the way this group of men is. I think they would be somewhat shocked to have a woman in their midst and switch to 'gentleman mode' immediately. Obviously in Nyx, we have a healthy diversity of age, gender, nationality and orientation. Its a wonderful mix and i wouldnt trade the atmosphere. However...I wouldn't want these two guilds to mix...they are totally incompatible because of what is 'expected' behavior. When in Rome...

Oh, and by the way...now I read EVERYTHING you gals post on all the forums... j/k :P

I cannot believe I just now found this topic on the forums. The Gender-bending in Warcraft is a very complex topic that some people take very seriously. (Which is quite comical in my opinion.)

When you are role playing with another character, it is best to consider them as the character they are, not the person behind the character. That is why when I meet someone for the first time, I just roleplay with them, and try to include them in my character's storyline. It doesn't matter to me wether or not someone is really a guy playing a girl, or vice versa. For instance, I know it sounds a bit strange, but it's more comfortable for me to portray a more feminine outlook on a character than the brutal, emasculate male. That is why Redflare has that semi-girly side to him, and currently is fused with Velleriss. (Although I have trouble making sure I use hir and shi instead of her and he.) Shanazeela, on the other hand, is a whole completely different character all in itself. When I role play as Shana, I play a more feminine role then usual for the average Troll, but that explains itself in her storyline.

Back on the topic at hand, and back from my tangent, Gender-bending shouldn't effect any way you encounter other characters in the World. (of Warcraft.) It is merely a chance for you to spruce up your storyline, and meet new people to become friends with. It's all for the better in the end, ne?
