Headless Horseman

Postby Tomoyo » Mon Oct 20, 2008 9:11 am

Either we're freakishly lucky, or there's something to this, but a group of us did a good number of summons of the Horseman tonight, bringing several alts during the process, and racking up something like 20 summons, I think. We adopted a policy of taking everything, even if we couldn't use it, and found that items which the majority of party members (or all party members) had were less likely to drop (or wouldn't drop at all). Perhaps due to this, we got 4 drops of the pet, and about 4 drops of the Hallowed Helm. No drops of the Plate helm, but at least several of us were able to finish our achievement. We'll be doing more runs over the coming days, and we expect to get a few titles between us after this. Something for everyone wanting the Hallowed title to try, I think.

I'm hoping to get both the pet and the cloth helm this year too. I want to get the Hallowed title and eventually by next year at the end of brewfest be riding along in a violet proto-drake.

Also, I can't remember how hard the fight is, but is it possible to bring in a 60(Shathatha) along for the gear and get the HHM achievement?

It would depend entirely how much DPS everyone else was putting out. At least until the mini patch of 3.0.3, if you took a Ret Pally with you, you could have a 60 instead of one DPS without too much hassle.

i have to say i did likely the same many summons but the atack power ring showed many many times, (we even had to leave some unlooted)

and well dps is not biggie as well heals a dps able to heal can handle the fight if is carefull

Agreed, the drops still seemed random with many many drops of the same rings. Gohj can come along and his vampiric healing is FAR more than enough to keep a 4-man group alive. A 60 would be no problem.

Yay! I'll see if we can get on tonight and get something running.
