First spend a few moments enjoying your ability to shock friends and family with the stream of invective you really do need to get out!
There! See, you do feel a little better! Now, Assuming you didn't have a backup (I did, also cooked.. bleack More bad words streak the air blue) you can either
1. Spend your day sawpping CD's in and out of the drive and DL'ing/installing patches or...
2. Go to the WOW site, log into customer support and quickly DL the installer which will allow you to download and install the very latest version. Now take your wife/girlfriend/significant other/etc out to breakfast/lunch dinner/drinks/party etc as this is a 6.5 GB download and IT IS GOING TO TAKE AWHILE! Go do some shopping, clean the house, do the laundry etc (I'm sure there is something that needs done that you've been putting off for some time, after all you play WOW)
Now, once you have it installed.. before you do anything.. MAKE A NEW BACKUP! (even if it mean going out and buying some more burnable DVD's or CD ROM's) so that next time all ya gotta do is slap 'em in and copy em into the wow directory. Oh yea, as a bonus WOW will take up less room on yer HD then before
How do you know this great wisdom oh Theotaz you ask..I'll give ya one Guess (mutter, mutter) and if you don't get it right the firsttime I'm throwing a burned out power supply at you!
I should be back in game shortly..whadda pain!

Ouch. Of all the programs I have installed, WoW is the most torturous next to a botched Windows installation. It's time-consuming. You also have to re-download and re-customize each time... Or do you?
Backing up the WTF folder on a regular basis takes some of the pain away as well as getting the updates backed up helps. A disc emulator program complete with CD and DVD images of the WoW installation can help too. I had some co-workers who played WoW on portable hard drives.
