Star Wars Holiday special

I thought this was just a joke, but apparently it was a real holiday special in 1978 according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Star_Wars_Holiday_Special.

It ranks right down there with Red Sonja and other really bad science fiction and fantasy. I'm not sure, but I think it is the worst of the worst I've ever seen. It's no wonder it only aired once.

I stumbled onto it when I followed a link from the Emerald Dream forums for the Snuggie. That lead me to google which lead me to more sites and eventually to http://www.infomercial-hell.com/blog/2008/12/03/chewbacca-and-his-wookie-family-wear-snuggies and that one led me to the Star Wars Holiday Special. This proves once again that reading the Emerald Dream forums destroys brain cells

I haven't watched it since it aired, but I recall watching it. It had wookies in it, and I thought that it rocked. In my teen years, I thought that I had only imagined watching something with wookies until I saw it being sold at a comic convention. Hearing the booth guy explain to another guy how horrible it was, made me loath to view it again. It made me happy as a kid, do I really want to get rid of that feeling?
