Re: Is Thanoss God-Modding?
*reads over the papers* nI love the creativness of it ..truly marvelous ..my one question pertains to this...If you were dead for longer then most would your skin not have been rotted and would your body have been dead to long for truly anything to continue working ..I am not trying to poke a hole in anyway shape or form I am curious what now seperates Thannos IC form the forsaken..other wise its like Ian sauid you know. But on another note I would really like to read this story before you even think of retconning it sounds like a good read.

Re: Is Thanoss God-Modding?
Thanks for the additional comments guys!
Ian, I know you and I were in the Dreamers at the same time, so of all these people I'm sure you have one of the better grasps of where I'm coming from. You seem very knowledgeable about this sort of thing too and I greatly appreciate you taking the time to respond so descriptively. I agree with you that I've glorified Thanoss a bit via his backstory. His regenerative abilities were actually originally meant to be a decriptive form of Fel Armor, however it gradually evolved into its own trait seperate from the buff, which I agree matches your definition of glorifying. Aside from this, the only unique abilities I've given Thanoss in the past were unique ways of dealing with people's souls which, while it was occassionally god-modding, wasn't exactly a stretch for a warlock's capabilities. For fear of further unintentional god-modding or glorifying, I've since ceased having Thanoss use such a skill in roleplay.
Bloodthin, I'd also be happy to answer your question. Thanoss was dead for about three hours before being resurrected, which from my guess wouldn't be long enough for him to decompose noticeably. I'm no expert in Warcraft lore, but the pattern I've seen from what I know is if someone dies, they generally come back one of two ways: a quick resurrection, or as an undead. Thanoss was meant to be a mix of this. He's actually meant to emulate the common feeling of emptiness found in Forsaken, since he could almost be considered an undead Blood Elf. The only reason his body became regenerative rather than rotting (as it should for an undead) is because so little of his soul was returned to him, causing an imbalance between his body and soul. As a compromise, his body became more resilient and regenerative, making decomposition impossible. Thanoss' belief that he's "resistant to death" stems only from his arrogance; he's only resilient because he often regenerates faster than he can die from most mortal wounds. That said, if either were to be picked, he's more alive than undead. Without air, food and water, he'd die just as quickly as anyone else.
I have no plans to change any part of Thanoss' past or personality; what's happened has happened, and he is who he is. In fact I purposely wrote Thanoss' backstory from a first-person perspective for the sole reason of allowing the reader to assess it on their own terms; if your character isn't one to believe this kind of stuff so easily, then really they don't have to. I do however have plans for Thanoss to be fine-tuned in such a way that would eliminate many of the issues pertaining to this topic. Like in real life, I don't believe in being able to change the past, but the future has limitless possibilities.
