Common sense should prevail, but in lieu of that, here are a few guidelines. Please note that this is not a comprehensive list of rules and regulations, but only a list of guidelines.

Part One: General Guild Conduct
* We do not tolerate any language that denigrates another’s race, gender, creed, physical or intellectual ability, religion or sexual preference. Comments like, “That’s so gay,” or “The Alliance just raped me,” are unacceptable in Nyx. Please also be mindful of your language in guild chat overall, and set a good example for the young ones.

* Treat each other as you want to be treated. In other words, remember, there is a real person on the other end of the computer, and they are trying to have fun too.

* Be a good representative of Nyx when you are adventuring in Azeroth and Outland.

* Please do not discuss personnel issues in guild chat, it is not the place. If you wish to talk to a Nightwarder or Oracle they will be happy to listen. If you have an issue that you would like to discuss with any of them, you are more than welcome to use the PM system on the forums. We will address your concerns with a prompt response.

Part Two: Party Etiquette
* Don’t abandon your party unnecessarily. If you have agreed to run an instance with a number of others, stay until the end. No one is going to be upset if you are faced with an emergency and need to leave, but otherwise, be in it for the long haul.

* Always obey the Need before Greed loot system. Only roll need on items that are an upgrade for you at the time. If an item drops that you will be able to use in a few levels, which no one else is interested in, discuss it with your party before rolling need. Typically this is fine in a guild run.

* Unless you have the specific approval of your party members, always roll Greed on crafting items.

* Respect other people’s spawns. If it looks like they have been working hard to achieve a goal, e.g. get to a chest, do not run in and loot it before they get a chance. Unless you are faced with someone that is undoubtedly a gold farmer, make an effort to share spawns, be it mobs or resource nodes, with others in the area.

* Don’t be a combat looter! If your party members are still fighting, you should be too.

* Inform others of the role you intend to fill before you set out on an adventure. If you are a shadow priest or a feral druid, make sure that your party is aware that your role is DPS, not primarily healing. That being said, if you do have an atypical spec, and your party requires healing, you should try to support your primary healer.

* Stick with your party, and don’t run ahead (unless they are expecting you to).

* Mind the mana! Casters often need to drink to recover mana. Please allow them to take regular breaks for a swig of water.

* Be respectful of your healers and the time it takes to recover after their deaths. If the only people in the group that can rez have to run back, you run back too. If you are close to the beginning of the instance, plan on running back even if a healer is alive unless told otherwise. Often it takes less time for the group to continue to move forward if the dead run back when they are close to the beginning.

Part Three: Roleplay
* Emerald Dream is a roleplay server. As such, roleplaying is compulsory in /s and /y.

* Members are only required to roleplay in /s and /yl if they use them, but they are not required to participate in on-going roleplay stories or events. Members must be supportive, respect and accepting of those who enjoy roleplay even if they prefer not to participate. Likewise members that are roleplaying are expected to respect and accept players that choose not to participate. Roleplayers with different styles and abilities are expected to respect and accept each other’s differences.

* Do not disrupt or grief other players that are roleplaying.

Part Four: Raids
* If you sign up, be on-line at least 10 minutes prior to the starting time of the raid. If you are not on-line by that time, you will be replaced.

* Life happens and sometimes circumstances arise that prevent you from going on a raid you signed up for. If you know in advance, cancel your sign-up. If you were drafted (your sign-up was confirmed) or you miss it completely, please be courteous to your raid leader and let that person know why you missed the raid as soon as possible. Raid leaders have feelings too and if a person consistently lets them down, they will be less likely to select that person in the future.

* There can be up to 25 people (or even more in some cases) on Ventrilo in the same channel at the same time. It can be very confusing if more than one speaks at the same time. During raids maintain silence in Ventrilo unless directed by the raid leader or a raid assistant.

* Come prepared and work hard on your gear outside of the raid environment. Check with more experienced players and outside sources to make sure your gear is ready before signing up for a raid. Bring appropriate quantities of the buff foods, potions, elixirs and flasks for your class. Get your gear enchanted appropriately. It is demoralizing for those that do these things to have to make up for those that do not.

* Follow directions of the raid leader and the raid assistants.

* Just as with lower level instances, don’t expect run throughs of raid instances when your gear is far below what is necessary for the instance. If you are working hard, but still not prepared for the instance, contact the raid leader for assistance in getting prepared and possibly coming along to get gear if raid balance allows. Remember that the decision to bring along an undergeared player to get gear is based on the raid leader’s discretion.

Part Five: Misc
* If you are a crafter, do not charge a guild member more than cost for crafting work. If they want to pay you more, that is their prerogative. The exception to this rule is for crafted items that have a cooldown period. Please recognise that this is a limited source of income for the crafter. It is reasonable for them to ask you to pay them for this service, however it would be expected that they would offer discounts to guild members.

* Please do not offer items for sale in guild chat. We like to encourage guild members to work together, not profit from one another. If you have an item that you wish to sell please use the trade channel or the auction house.

* If you wish to offer an item in guild chat for free for the benefit of another, or wish to send it to the bank for another guild member to use you are more than welcome to do so.

* Leeches are not appreciated. Constantly asking for others to provide you with money, items, assistance is frowned on. Example: Saying, “Can anyone give me a cloak that is good for Level 20?” and following that with, “Can I have someone to help me kill this rogue,” and then, “Can you pick up some bread in Orgrimmar?” and “May I borrow 10 gold?” etc…. None of these requests when made infrequently are a problem. Everyone needs help now and then and that is understood. Asking constantly however will not win you any friends.

* The old phrase ‘do not a borrower or a lender be’ is good advice. When the person borrowing does not repay as expected or the person doing the lending pesters the borrower for repayment, the result is a lot of hard feelings. Do not borrow gold from guild mates that you do not intend to repay. If you borrow gold expect to repay that before you do anything for yourself. So either do not ask, or pay it back promptly. Any disputes regarding loans have to be handled between the borrower and lender. Disputes about a loan are not things officers can resolve.
