INTO THE MOUNTAIN (Chapter II) This Wednesday Night

INTO THE MOUNTAIN (Chapter II) This Wednesday Night

The Dwarven Scrolls retrieved from the Iron Forge courier have been deciphered by a skilled translator. Dwarven tongue does not translate well to Orcish. Our best sensitives have also looked over the documentsto intuit what may have been lost during translation.

It seems the Dwarves of Iron Forge have rejoined with their bastard cousins the Dark Irons, or plot against them once again, it is difficult to say. It is without question that the dwarves look to Blackrock Mountain. Do they believe they might succeed in harnassing the power of an Elemental Lord where the Dark Irons failed? I personally cannot imagine many forces in this world capable of making the very ground heave and rumble. We all know what once slept at the mountain’s core;
might this power be the source of why the ground around all great Horde cities quake? Is this just a taste of a greater assault in the works? We cannot risk chance. We delve deep into the heart of Blackrock Mountain to be sure the Great Servant of the Old Gods remains destroyed. I half expect
legions of Iron Forge’s best to occupy the deepest, darkest places of the mountain, and we will stop them, or if we must, we will extinguish Ragnoros’s fire again ourselves.

A new age begins for the champions of Lady Nyx

As the third moon collided in alignment with it’s two sisters, the heavens rained rays of change down on all of Azeroth, including the many followers of the beloved Lady Nyx. A new era has dawned, and change approaches for all of the world.

Much has transpired for the Tribal followers of Nyx in this last cycle. The champions did face impotence and possible extinction at the hands of an encroaching imperial army, yet rose up in surprising force and vengeful blood lust, defeating the encroaching expansionists and ending their threat. Many champions rose to defend the banner of Lady Nyx, and pushed the human led army back into retreat. Only time shall tell what is to come of the temporary quiet.

Time also struck change in the Tribe’s commanders as well, allowing a new Oracle to ascend to power, new Nightwarders to take up the torch of Lore, and Umbral Champions to rise to the challenges of a new day. These new heroes are charged with heralding in a new era for the followers of Nyx, an era that warns to bring massive change to all of Azeroth, and the tribal followers of Lady Nyx as well.

Ominous rumblings throughout the Barrens alerted the attention of the Tribe’s leaders, sending teams of investigators into action. Due to the destruction caused in the Searing Gorge by the Dwarves once previously, suspicion was thrown to them as the cause of this newest wave of tremors, and action was taken. A band of Nyx’s followers entered the gates of Iron Forge itself on a reconnaissance effort, and many artifacts and scrolls were gathered pertaining to the disturbance. The information is currently being deciphered by translators, and the mystery deepens as the tremors continue to grow in frequency and power.

Finalizing this cycle in the Tribe’s changing history, the beloved Lady Nyx herself has crept into the shadows, leaving no trace of her whereabouts or activities. What impact this will have on the Tribe is yet to be seen… and the wheels of fate continue to turn…

Anub’Arak has finally gone down! [Taurahe: Moo Anub’arak moo!]

After several long, ardurous hours of of battling through several of his grotesquely-powered minions, such as his right and left…  Claw…  Val’kyr Fjola and Eydis, the horrible twins of the Lich King whom specialize in their own twisted corruptions of both Light, and Darkness.  This troublesome duo was quite the challenge for the followers of Lady Nyx, seeing as their eminations of such fearsome power were so chaotic, that there was much moving and shaking to be had, lest one be laid waste in their path.  It was quite the long and troublesome fight, we made it through victorious.  We even managed to come out with a few pieces of their own personal weapons, unscathed for our very own personal use!

Aside from the twins, we also had to force our way through many other adversaries under the rule of the Lich King, such as Icehowl, and even Lord Jaraxxus, a major demon summoned by this power-hungry gnome-thing who thought he could control it!  Through fearsome beasts, and treacherous demons, Nyxians plowed through the challenges set before them!

News Flash!

Reports have been flooding in from all over Azeroth of strange an unexplained fluctuations in all things magical!  Everyone from the Druids and Shamans of Thunder Bluff, even to the Paladins and Priests of Silvermoon, are all feeling the effects of this mysterious choas dealing with their various magics, no matter WHO/WHAT has granted them their power!

If you have any leads, or information as to what might be going on, please speak to your local wardens or guildmasters right away!

UNDER CONSTRUCTION! [Taurahe]: Moo!

The Nyxian Gazette has just recently come under new management!

Unfortunately, new management is rather unhappy with the current conditions of the office it was given.  Seeing as a pink skin blood elf used to be running the place (and decorating, too!) management has made a very tough, but important call: Time to toss all these flashy knick-knacks and over-expensive elfie stuff, and bring in the wigwams and butt-flaps!

Remodeling is underway, and a new and improved gazette will be posted post-haste the moment all of the dust settles, and when management can get all of those pesky self-sweeping brooms to stop messing up the ceremonial pelts to messing things up again.

One employee, who wishes to remain anonymous, had suggested that “The only way to rid the place of the “stench”, was ‘Purification by Fire'”

With that said, it is a good time to mention that the Gazette also now needs to fill a….  Recently-vacated position as “Gazette Contributor”

Employment Opportunities:

Do you have any special talents?  When you look at scrolls, can you actually understand what they say?  Do your friends call you funny?  (No, not your imaginary ones)  Are you good at hoofrubs?  If your answer is “Yes” to any of the following questions (especially the one about hoofrubs!) then, the Gazette might be the place for you!  Please send any and all inquiries for employment to the new Head Top High-Ruler President Magistrate Queen Shayla Roseblossom for review!

Thank you for reading!

Nyx Gazette XX

Nyx Gazette

Issue XX

Welcome, readers, to the twentieth edition of the Nyx Gazette! Once again, this week presents a packed report, as the holiday week brought a surprising amount of events to the fore, as opposed to the realatively laidback time many expected. And remember, dear readers, the Gazette still seeks submissions from all of you, as well as more subjects for the Spotlight article!

Field Report: Movement in the Eastern Kingdoms

The first segment of this week’s Gazette is The Field Report. Stories from our battles against the Alliance and chronicles of our war efforts are contained within. All readers are encouraged to send in their accounts and images, as they may very well find a place among The Field Report!

Activity on the war front is still slow in this past holiday week, with most of the Horde (and assumedly, the Alliance) taking the time to celebrate the holiday. It was not without incident, however, as many Alliance were found attempting to feast in Horde territory, and they had the nerve to take our chairs with them when they died as well! Such pig headed hypocrites they are, sometimes. Such interlopers were dealt with swiftly, however, and the holidays were able to continue mostly unabated.

I did say “slow” and not absent quite intentionally, however. Early in the holiday a week, Horde forces of which many Nyx were members of took part in a double offensive on the two largest hubs of Alliance activity in the Eastern Kingdoms: Ironforge, and Stormwind. This measure was mostly successful, particularly in Ironforge, where the Horde held the center of the city for quite some time before meeting any meaningful resistance. The Horde came out mostly unscathed, leaving a strong message for the Alliance: The Horde is not to be trifled with, even in these holiday times.

As well, regular excursions into battlegrounds are continuing as planned, most often on Wednesday nights, but also in impromptu instances. Be sure to contact Nightwarder Leothiel Frosthawk if you wish to come along on one of these exercises, or ask around to see if a group is forming.

Danger In Azeroth: The Frozen Depths

If there is one thing the holidays have not affected, it’s Nyx battles against the forces of darkness in Northrend, and indeed all around Azeroth. Many expeditions were held over the course of this week, all across this darkened land of ours.

The dread Necropolis, Naxxramas to this day looms in the sky, threatening all of Azeroth from its current home in the Dragonblight. Early this week, out very own Souldrake led an ambitious expedition into this bastion of the Lich King’s power. A rare collection of twenty five loyal Nyxians followed him into its walls, where they cleaved their way through many of the dread citadel’s inhabitants, in search of  the armaments of past warriors. Progress was made, and the whole event is notable for being a rare instance that so many are able to attend one of these such trials. Perhaps we will be able to continue to mae headway with such a large group into Naxxramas, so that more may join a large force into the titan ruins of Ulduar.

In Ulduar, Nyx continued to make progress within the frozen depths. This past week, in a bit of news that apparently escaped my eye, our brave Nyxians, led by Imrikk, forced their way into Ulduar, where they made battle with Hodir, and felled the giant. More recent expeditions, led by Worldofhurt and once more by Imrikk, weren’t quite as successful, but continue to persevere and progress forward through this challenge that lies ahead. Yogg-Saron awaits, and we will be there to meet him.

Elsewhere in Northrend, many Nyxians continue to prove themselves in the eyes of Tirion Fordring and his Argent Crusade, despite efforts otherwise by The Lich King himself. Congratulations to all of them, and look forward to more Nyxians stepping forward to challenge the Trial of the Crusader in the near future. Perhaps, soon, it will be time for the Trial of the Grand Crusader.

The Home Front: Turkey Time

As mentioned several times, this past week was the holiday of Pilgrim’ Bounty. Much joy was had during this time of reflection and good fortune. There was plenty to do, from dinners and tables in nearly every Horde city for all to sit down and feast at. However, perhaps most enjoyed by all, were requests to journey into Sethekk Halls in Outland and bring justice to Talon King Ikiss in a manner truly fitting of the holiday. I’m quite sure someone was able to turn this once dangerous creature into a feast to be enjoyed by Aldor and Scryer alike.

Aditionally, this past Sunday a guild meeting was had as announced last week.  The purpose of this meeting was specifically to sit back and relax; unwind from the hardships of the past few months. Standard guild business was held, with promotions for a number of members, a performance by The Tauren Chieftens, much to many’s surprise, and a race with a cash prize for the top three winners. These winners were Locust in third, Miaoyin in second, and Partedhair in first. Congratulations once more to all of these winners, and thank you to everyone who came to this meeting A wonderful time was had by all, and we hope everyone looks forward to the next such meeting. In fact…

Nyx Gazette XIX

Nyx Gazette

Issue XIX

Welcome, readers, to the nineteenth edition of the Nyx Gazette! This week’s issue is a packed issue, with many events and occurrences from the past two weeks, including a very important special report! . And remember, dear readers, the Gazette still seeks submissions from all of you, as well as more subjects for the Spotlight article!

Special Report: War Comes To An End

The Gazette this week begins with a very special report indeed. For those have not heard, our long and exhausting war with the Alliance force known as Kingship of the East has finally come to an end. By decree handed down by our own Lady Nyx, our conflict has come to an end at long last, much to the rejoicing of others.

In the spirit of this rejoicing and happiness among the Tribe in the wake of this announcement, a large victory parade and celebration were held, marching from Fairbreeze Village in Eversong to the heart of Silvermoon City. Quite a time was had, but the biggest surprise of the event was when our Lady Nyx appeared before us herself to encourage and congratulate us, and to tell us to look forward to the future as we move on from this taxing battle we have been unwittingly caught up in.

Additionally, commendations were provided to two of our own by our Lady herself, in honor of their services during these trying times. Congratulations to both Warzen and Filarius for receiving this highest honor, and we all hope you will continue to aid us when we need it most.

Field Report: All Quiet… For Now.

The first segment of this week’s Gazette is The Field Report. Stories from our battles against the Alliance and chronicles of our war efforts are contained within. All readers are encouraged to send in their accounts and images, as they may very well find a place among The Field Report!

As the headline reads, much has been quiet on the world of Azeroth since the war was brought to an end, at least in the form of concentrated hostilities. The usual skirmishes against the Alliance occur as usual, and more than a few time sin the past two weeks Nyx has been called to defend the Horde home cities, and have done so with zeal and fervor that would make Thrall proud.

Of particular note are Nyx’s continued excursions into the battlegrounds against the Alliance, occurring with increasing frequency and ferocity. Our Nightwarder of War, Leothiel Frosthawk, is regularly seeking warm, able, and willing bodies for these battles, so if you have even a passing desire to participate, please check the schedule board and sign up to attend.

The Home Front: A Time To Remember

Much has happened in the weeks since the last issue of the Nyx Gazette. First and foremost, we should all congratulate Partedhair and Wiindriider if you have not all ready. Though it was a week past, recently the two were happily wed, in what I am told was a wonderful ceremony held within the Moonglade on Kalimdor. Many were in attendance, and a wonderful time was had by all, in particular the bride and groom. We wish them the best in their continued happiness. Congratulations, you two!

In other news, this week marks the holiday known in Azeroth as Pilgrim’s Bounty. Pilgrim’s Bounty is a time when we all should sit back and look at the world around us; take in all the good fortune around us and share it will everyone around us. Be sure to visit the capitol cities of the Horde (as well as the Alliance, should you wish to) and partake of the festivities. I’m sure there will be plenty of food and joy for all to share and enjoy. A celebration in honor of this he held this Saturday outside of Orgrimmar, for all to attend and enjoy, and reminisce.

Nyx Gazette XVIII

Nyx Gazette

Issue XVIII

Welcome to the eighteenth edition of the Nyx Gazette! I woud like to apologize for the lateness of this week’s Gazette. Reports and work in Silvermoon has kept me far more occupied than expected, but rest assured that next week’s issue will arrive on proper schedule, and with more substance than the brevity of this week’s edition carries.. For now, I present to you this week’s Gazette. Next will see the return of The Field Report as well, cut this week due to a number of matters currently in flux. And remember, dear readers, the Gazette still seeks submissions from all of you, as well as a subject for the Spotlight article!

Danger in Azeroth: of Dragons and Trees

The Danger in Azeroth portion of the Gazette brings you the results of recent Nyx outings into the world of Azeroth and it’s many dungeons,, ruins, caverns, and mazes, as well as updates on ongoing excursions and plans for upcoming ones. Readers are encouraged to submit their accounts and captured images.

As mentioned last week, recently there have been many excursions into the various dragon controlled territories of Azeroth. Onyxia’s Lair, the Obsidian Sanctum, and the Eye of Eternity were all raided by the groups led by Nyx, but were unfortunately met with mixed success. Regardless, much was learned in these encounters, and Nyx will continue to press on as always until these challenges are overcome. Please speak to the various leaders in charge of these efforts, and join us as the battles continue on.

Once more, the Argent Tournament continues onward, and now Tribe Nyx is once more showing the Alliance how things are properly done in Northrend. Members of Tribe Nyx are once more making forays into the Crusader’s Coliseum for the Argent Crusade’s Trial of the Crusader challenge. An account of the most recent attempt can be found in a recent release by Ezraella here http://thenyx.org/?p=252 . Suffice to say, we should be proud of our fellow Nyxians for their perseverance and eventual prevalence, making new headway into the Trail that Nyx has never made before.

In the rest of this week, continued trips are planned back into Onyxia’s Lair, as well as the continued efforts in the trial of the Crusader and in Ulduar, where with every passing day we come yet closer to the defeat of Yogg-Saron. It is only a matter of time now, so stay strong, Nyx!

The Home Front: Love Continues to Spread

As announced in our last edition, a Jousting event was held last week on the argent Tournament grounds, a friendly get together between the members of tribe Nyx as well as friends from within the Horde. The event was put on by Amyia, who also served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event, and refreshments were provided by Stichenn and our own Oracle, Aitana.

Much fun was had by all, and some very hard battle were fought on the backs our tamed beasts. Thankfully, no one was seriously injured or trampled as the night went on, and ultimately it was Nyx’s very own Leothiel Frosthawk who came out on top, winning a prize consisting of gold and prestige both among Nyx and among the Horde. Congratulations, Leo! We all should look forward to the next friendly gathering, and I do hope Amyia can follow up the jousting tournament with something just as exciting in the future.

Last week, I brought you all news of the marriage of Leothiel and Oneille Frosthawk, and this week have yet another very special announcement to make: This Saturday, at 7pm, the love continues to spread through Nyx as our own Wiindriider and Partedhair are to be wed! A loction has not been decided, and likely won’t be available until the eleventh hour, but I encourage absolutely everyone who can to keep an ear out and attend if they are able. If you see either of the happy couple in the mean time, be sure to pass on your well wishes and words of wisdom!

An unfortunate turn of events

During an honourable run of Trials of the Crusader, ten people stepped forth to expunge Alliance dogs from the arena. However, one tree, shown above, decided to greet our new found friends… We did not realize, however, that the Alliance were all a bunch of tree-huggers. Quickly did they move forward to greet the tree and she got crushed be the overwhelming size of the Alliance boomkin. Suffice to say, we shall never again send our tree forth to do as such again.

However, the group prevailed against all odds and destroyed the Alliance dogs, a first for our glorious family! Congratulations!
