Zul’Aman is Being Tamed

With a great felt cheer, Jan’alai Dragonhawk lord of the Amani trolls has been slain. In all due time, the forces of Nyx will be dispatching Zul’jin, the leader of the Amani. This of course leads to the difficult subject of what should be done with the lands of Zul’Aman once the Amani have been defeated.

My master, Bael’spar Mon’tisto has suggested that since the Sin’dorei have been fighting a war against the Amani, the lands that they occupy should become a Sin’doreian protectorate. From there, a triumvirate of Blood Knights, Magisters, and Artisans could collectively form a plan to better utilize these lands.

Master of Elements, Warburn Smoketusk was overheard to be strongly in disagreement, “Dis place belong to dah trolls mon! And wit deh trolls it be stayin! Mah troll brothahs won’ be able tah contain dere hatred much longah, fo yah elves who took dere lands if yahs also takeh deh place where Zul’jin make ‘is last stand!” Perhaps either the Darkspear or Zandalar tribes will be seeking to make it into a memorial of Trollish Determination and Persistence.

An inquiry has been submitted to Lady Nyx to see if she has any intentions for the Amani lands. So far, there has been no response.

Nyx Scourges Ashenvale

After many reports of Alliance incursions against the Horde’s Splintertree Post, Ezraella sounded out the cry for vengeance. A fair number turned out, fifteen all told. Once gathered at Zoram’gar, the force made their way to Astranaar. There, they took a couple of gnomish mages by surprise.

Having caused the fall of one town, they travelled North to Dark Shore. After quickly taking the port town, the forces of Nyx journeyed on to Darnassus, the Kal’dorei capitol. Entry seemed to be no problem.

Thanks in no small part to Pack Spirit, a hospitable set of apartments was acquired. From there, the forces of Nyx were assaulted by our nemesis, the No Mercy Mafia. While our forces were capable of holding off a concerted attack for no short period of time, they were not able to hold forever.

Here is Ezraella’s report of the event.

Gearing for Northrend

As a series of calisthenics designed to prepare bodies and minds for unknown dangers, Pack Spirit will be returning to many of places that vexed Azeroth. The Black Rock Spire, Zul’Gurub, An’Qhiraj, and Naxxramas are likely targets of these exercises. Look to the Pack Spirit forums for more information.

Some Financial Advice

On the horizon, there is a new trade skill to be learned. Preliminary reports that have filtered through to this reporter have indicated that many of the chief ingredients and supplies for this new trade are herbs. It has come through that those wishing to make money in the Northrend economy are best advised to stock up on herbs that might be of use.

Bael’spar’s Fashion and Gossip

I have to wonder at the “success” of the 70 Elite Tauren Chieftans. When first they appeared, they were playing to sold out arenas. Granted, the audience was primarily murlocs, but still the early momentum of their rise to fame was readily apparent.

When they began to make appearances in Silvermoon City, obviously they were making plans for a big move. Yet, it appears as though they must have angered the wrong people, for their next concert venue was the World’s End Tavern in the Lower City. While some pity must be given to the refugees gathered there, I hardly feel that an awesome band is the balm they need when there are far more deserving souls on the Scryer Rise.

Imagine my surprise when I found them in the Grim Guzzler performing for a Direbrew coming of age ceremony. I would expect a band of the caliber of Gnomer-Head (the one’s whose amps go to 10.01) or Copper Stool. In having a word with Sig Nicious, I was able to deduce that Bergrist’s “dust” problem may be at the foot of their troubles. Chief Thunderskin’s assertion that Sig’s wardrobe/makeup expenditures exceed that of Bergrist during a binge seem to be completely unfounded and preposterous. Here’s hoping that Northrend will find them performing at larger venues.

OOC News

Blizzard Account Authenticators are once again in stock. The last set went out of stock in a few hours. Hopefully they will have more supplies this time, but it’s well worth it to have account security.

Nyx Gazette XI – Full Moon Festival Redux

Farewell to a Friend

Linkan, Blood Knight, Hero of the Sin’dorei, Nightwarder of Trials, Defender of the Scryers, Champion of the Na’aru, and many other countless titles that he kept to himself; is no longer with us. We had a moment of silence to commemorate his absence, and recounted what had happened.

News had come to Linkan that his brother was being held in Tempest Keep. Fearing that time was against him, he charged forth to rescue his sibling. That is the last anyone has reported seeing them.

Barefoot has offered to work at taking his place leading Nyx’s raids, including an attack against Tempest Keep to discover Linkan’s fate. She will require all our support in continuing progress toward the Black Temple.

((Just for the record, the player behind Linkan is fine. Here is where he states his reasons for leaving.))

New Leadership

Lady Nyx saw the need to come forth for this meeting. She has promoted both Master Warburn Smoketusk and Archdruid Aitana Tallbear to Oracle to assist Lady Tomoyo with the day to day management of guild affairs.

Master Warburn has been a loyal Nyx member for quite some time. Formerly a Nightwarder of Lore, he has been instrumental in many of our raids. Also, he has provided much of the flavor of the Shattrath and Orgrimmar marketplace with his “Powah Enchant” shop.

Running a guild is no new task to Archdruid Aitana. She was the guild leader of the Twilight Umbrage, a guild charged with stopping the Twilight’s Hammer from achieving their sinister goals. With the destruction of their citadel, members of the Umbrage joined under the banner of Lady Nyx. No one can say that they have not been assets to Nyx.

May there promotions serve Lady Nyx and themselves.

A Little Light Raiding

After all the announcements were done, duels were fought and dances danced. It was at that point that it was suggested that an attack be made on Jaina Proudmore. Due to the many concerns of those in attendance of the Moon Festival, we were not able to field enough to really take Theramore Island.

However, we were able to make our way to Menethil Bay. We took their castle. Then, we proceeded to Refuge Point where all the Alliance were driven from the Arathi Highlands.

Bael’spar’s Fashion and Gossip

I have not only lost a friend, but a rival. Linkan was not just a fellow Blood Knight, but a rather well dressed one to boot. Even more, his hair was nearly the rival of my own. I will not get into speculation of a compound discovered by the naga in Serpent Shrine Cavern that brings greater luster and body to one’s hair that he was pursuing. Nor, will I offer forth the fact that Prince Kael’thas, Lord of Tempest Keep, my uncle, is an ingenious alchemist and enchanter that provides me with all my hair care products. Linkan would not be so base as to attack uncle Kael’thas for that reason only, but I will speak no ill of those not here to defend themselves.

Let me say, that he will be missed, but Nyx is ready for the challenges that lie before us.

Nyx Guild Meeting

Lady Tomoyo and the rest of our officers will be having a meeting of all the guild on this very night (Sept 15th, 2008; 10:00PM ST – Fray Island, The Barrens) Bring food, drink, and merriness; for this is likely to be a major event in the annals of Nyx lore.

A Letter from the Editor

From all reports, Lady Nyx’s guild is still doing well. More and more warriors are able to join the fights in the Outlands. The central hot spots in the war against the Alliance, however, are seeing signs that the Horde is losing interest in seeing them won. For the memory of the fallen, as this Harvest Festival wanes, let’s get out there and show the Alliance that the Horde still has its fangs.

Soon, I will be venturing forth in to Alterace Valley. The Arathi Basin and the Warsong Gulch will have seen no shortage of my attendance. While I merely am able to take reports about the battle in the Eye of Netherstorm, I hope that my blades will soon be able to be an asset. This is, of course, why the Gazette has seen a lax in publication. I hope to prove that we can get this back on track.

Taking on Another Prince

Taking down Prince Kael’thas is proving to be an effort that we are able to accomplish. There are some matters that our raiders report difficulties. Out of respect for Linkan, their name will not be mentioned. Let’s just say that golden birds will be on the menu.

Demolishing the Shrines of the Serpents

The Naga who have holed up in the Underbog have errected a shrine to their dark gods. Attempts to destroy this abomination are being made by Nyx forces even as you read this message. Going in there is no small undertaking. The fight is not just within the cavern halls, but in the rest of the Outlands as well. The gear needed to see our fighters safely through is not easily come by. However, great efforts have been made to make it so.

Bael’spar’s Fashion and Gossip

A minor topic of discussion is the matter of so called “Welfare Epics”. I have not entered into the race for these low quality items, but I know many who have. It seems like a glorious path, fight and we’ll grant you excellent quality arms and armor. The unwritten rule, though, is that this is just a way to provide fresh meat for the rage-poisoned. The arena masters are paying you to lose. Worse yet, they make Horde fight Horde; to the death. In the case of the Forsaken, that’s not so bad as unfortunate. Contrarily, some of us like our souls and our pink skins firmly attached. So, Nyx, be wary of such.

Now I have to go…um, fight for gladia- oh, um….justice. Yeah. Justice. Keep looking good, Nyx.

Nyx Gazette IX

Aitana has Been Recovered

A wavering voice that we all knew was Aitana came across our Hearthstones*. She informed us that she had succumbed to unconcsiousness and awoke in a dark place; injured. From the clues that were garnered by rescuers Sind, Ralleo, Warburn, Lanite, and Grellix; they converged in the Badlands where the druid would be found.

Sind was first on the scene, a long forgotten tomb. This proved unfortunate for the priest. A trap was triggered that rendered him immobile; cloaked in shadow magics and immense pain. Lanite arrived, and sensed the danger and was able to warn Warburn, Ralleo and Grellix to be cautious.

The mages, Lanite and Grellix cast what magics they could to see if they could free Aitana and Sind. Ralleo’s expertise in traps was put to some use. He and Warburn deduced that the runes that coated the walls had some connection to the trap. Where individual effort failed, their powers combined in chant to free both Sind and Aitana.

A brief argument ensued about whether to portal out, or to move the still unhealthy pair to the nearby Kargath inn. It was decided that the inn was a better choice, Sind wishing to avoid the perils of the Twisting Nether. At the inn, full healing was enabled; and Nyx is whole once more.

The Nyx Vault Robbery and Recovery

Barefoot received a rude surprise a few weeks back when she went to organize the goods stored in the guild vault. At some point, a once respected Nyxer had absconded with a number of valuable jewels. With the assistance of the Orgrimmar Savings and Tusks, the identity of the perpetrator was made known: Jinxa, a warlock.

With the guild mobilized to find her, clues surfaced that led to Azshara. En masse, the guild searched the treacherous cliffs and unfriendly shores of that land. It was Orvar that located an wrestled Jinxa into captivity. The jewels were recovered.

Jinxa was taken to the old guild house on Fray Island where a trial was convened. While it had been revealed that her demonic minion had been responsible for the transgression, it was ruled that Jinxa needed to face punishment as well.

For two weeks, Jinxa was forced to serve as a guard for the Crossroads. Not being merciless, Aitana provided a potion that dampened the voices that create the vocal cacophony of the Barrens.

A Letter to Nyx – Given to the Editor

Followers of Nyx,

Your transgressions will not go unpunished. Killing Al’ar was an act unworthy of the name of the Lady you follow. For her sake, and the sake of my nephew, I continued to give you passage into my home. I will be quick to rectify this as you continue despoil my home.

Was it necessary to destroy my void reaver? Tyc’ho Mon’tisto, master engineer, tore a fel reaver to pieces and rebuilt this finer piece of technology. Yet, you, the followers of Nyx are unable to appreciate the artistry wrought in this creation. Once it is rebuilt, then I will send it forth to rain doom upon you all.

Your passage within my halls is no longer free.

May Nyx burn!

Prince Kael’thas Sunstrider

Bael’spar’s Fashion and Gossip

The robe is a fashion choice that I have long left neglected. They do not get the shine or filigree that can be achieved by chain and plate. Lately, though, I have been sporting some of the finer made robes, and they are comfortable as well as functional. Many of them come with pockets large enough for two bottles of wine and proper glassware. Fashion with function.

There has been some fuss that the female Forsaken are not so pleasureable to the eye as the rest of their Horde counterparts. When I heard this, I first thought of Lady Sylvanus. Can it not be said that our Lady Nyx is not a sight to behold? I should think not. Just because your bones are revealed does not make them unlovely.

Gazette VIII

Nyx Defeats Al’ar

One day, I shall be prepared, as they say, to venture forth into the Black Portal. Then, I shall be able to truly chronicle the tales of Nyx as they confront the Burning Legion and all forces that seek to drive all noble creatures into the darkness. Alas, I am still dependent on my patron and master, Bael’spar “Guardian Fist” Mon’tisto, Light of the Sun’s Fury, and Bearer of Titles That Would Stagger a Lesser Being; for the goings on in the Outlands and beyond. I apologize if anything I report fails to meet the highest standard of accuracy.

In the purple reaches of the lands known as Netherstorm, Tempest Keep hovers its vigil, keeping the mana flowing from the Twisting Nether to a form more accessible by all who…need…mana. As I have taken lengths to learn, it was originally built by the Na’aru; a fact that the Blood Knights are loathe to impart to those not amongst their ranks. Although, they will follow up that Prince Kael’thas saw that the Na’aru weren’t managing it properly, and…acquired…the reigns. Under the current facility administration, the mana flows, and the Outlands are being reborn. A new age dawns free from the Twisting Nether.

The ruling of Tempest Keep is no easy task. Prince Kael’thas is not often able to avail himself to those that would like to speak with him. Still, my master Bael’spar was able to get invitations in to the Keep (or Eye as some call it) for some of the renowned members of Nyx. Due to unforeseen circumstances, my master was not able to journey with them, but Prince Kael’thas has sent him word of the visit.

Aside from manipulating the forces that form all creation, Prince Kael’thas is a lover of avian forms. Having access to a multidimensional forces, as the Eye is essentially a moveable Black Portal, Kael’thas was able to obtain the rarest of rare species, Al’ar the God of the Pheonix. This was not a safari capturing, but a meeting of like minds. For Kael’thas is a Sin’dorei amongst Sin’dorei. The two could only see themselves as equals.

It was Al’ar that Nyx first encountered. The tale that filters back to me involves someone being hungry. In response to the statement of that fact, another suggested that Roast Pheonix may be a delicacy beyond all reckoning. Yet another quips that the bird is already roasting, perhaps braising might be better. After some arguing and infighting, it is determined that a bird in the air will never go into the stomach. Thus, from…hunger…Nyx attacked Al’ar.

While the noble creature put up a fight, it was not enough to turn back the forces of Nyx. Beneath their claws, sword, arrows, axes, and other implements of war; did the golden bird die. Little time did they have to truly dine on their kill, for the Void Reaver Security System went into effect, forcing Nyx to leave with all due haste.

Linkan has vowed that the Void Reaver will perish for having touched his hair.

Bael’spar’s Fashion and Gossip

Yellow is the color to be wearing.  We are wearing it in honor of Uncle Kael’thas’s fallen friend and pet.  Al’ar, we shall miss the light you brought to us.  May your wings carry you on the winds of the universe.

Eating foul is out for the month.

Nyx Gazette VII

Nyx Downs Magtheridon

It has been reported to me that a great foe has been defeated in the Outlands. Magtheridon has fallen beneath the might and power of Nyx. Yet, there are those that may not know of his offenses. Yours truly was amongst that group. I sought the answers some of you, no doubt, crave.

Hellfire Citadel in the center of the chasm in the middle of Hellfire Peninsula was home to armies of fel orcs. The numbers within that structure were unknown until my master, Bael’spar “Guardian Fist” Mon’tisto recommended that the terrace would make an imposing observation deck and entertainment hall for Thrallmar and the warriors of Nyx.

With this sentiment agreed at the higher levels within the guild, plans for the first major party there were made. The ramparts were cleared of the fel orc infestation, as were the inner halls and chambers.
After many weeks, it was felt that the fel orcs, if not utterly destroyed, were contained.

As though from some tale of horror, the fel orcs returned. Their numbers allowed them to spill over the Nyx and Thrallmar defenses. Our allies and friends were forced to retreat. The fel orcs destroyed or consumed all the things that had been brought forth for the festivities. To add more to the situation, a voice came from the very bowels of the citadel.

“You can’t hold me forever!” These are the first words heard from Magtheridon. The Magtheridon responsible for the corruption of many orcs, changing them from the noble ally most of us recognize into the fel orcs that cause so much problems for those on pilgrimage in the Outlands. From the Black Temple, his reign of terror over the orcish home world was near absolute.

With the fel orcs pouring out of the stonework, Nazgrel was forced to pull his orcs back to Thrallmar. The forces of Nyx worked a containment strategy, strikes were made against the forces that camped in the middle and upper areas. The daemonic voice from the depths continued to issue its rage.

“Illidan is an arrogant fool.” It was an allegiance with Illidan that lead our Prince Kael’thas to the path where he is also considered an enemy of Nyx and the Horde. Together, Prince Kael’thas and Illidan were able to oust Magtheridon from the Black Temple (although early translation of Grand Magister Rom’math’s journals have it as Black Citadel…)

Although Nyx is mighty, a foe like Magtheridon would be a major undertaking. Linkan and Barefoot began to aid fellow Nyxers in the preparation for what lie beneath Hellfire Citadel. With powerful enchantments and items brought about by our most skillful enchanters, alchemists, blacksmiths, and tailors; our forces were soon ready.

My master relates that Magtheridon is held in place by six cubes of shifting designs. Their enthralling pattern keeps Magtheridon in check by constantly altering. Once the fel orcs responsible for keeping the cubes in motion were killed, it was the duty of the nearest Nyxer to step in. These cubes were able to portray the power and glory that is Prince Kael’thas Sunstrider, and kept Megtheridon in check.

After this step was taken, it was small matter for the great demon to be brought low. I saw a pictograph of the head mounted within the walls of Thrallmar. Apparently the Hellfire Observation Deck is not the party spot my master was hoping it would be, but the forces of Thrallmar can revel in their new decoration.

One day I shall make the pilgrimage to the Outlands and see this Hellfire Citadel with my own eyes. Until then, I rely on my master’s descriptions.

The Warlock Plague

Aitana has uncovered a plague amongst the Horde, a plague of Alliance warlocks. Apparently, they are working foul magics against the Horde’s ability to communicate.

Be not concerned about your mail. They have not figured out how to confound that service. Instead, I will have to paraphrase Aitana’s findings in this matter.

When you encounter a member of the Horde that speaks some form of gibberish, then be on your guard. An Alliance warlock may be nearby. Killing that warlock is the only known cure. It is not always guaranteed to work, but apathy solves nothing.

Take note, become more aware of the various tongues spoken by the other races of the Horde. To orcish ears, I’m sure that Thalassian sounds more like gibberish than the melodic melding of thought and feeling that it is. Properly tuning your ear will alert you to true gibberish.

Bael’spar’s Fashion and Gossip

Uncle Kael’thas has once again returned to Azeroth. I’ve been trying to get in to see me, but it appears that he has fallen in with the ‘wrong’ crowd. A troll that had been chased from his terrace showed me a picto of Kael’thas’s face. It would seem that the ravages of mana addiction are eating away at the flesh that adorns most of Silvermoon City. Nyxers, my uncle needs help.

To Prince-Uncle Kael’thas Sunstrider, the Golden Magister, Lord of the Green Spheres, Saviour of the Sin’dorei; you are doing far too much. I’m sure that the lackeys that you have surrounded yourself with are, in fact, incompetent and can only tap mana and walk at the same time if you are there to coach them. But, you need to ask yourself, “Where’s the Kael-time?” You need to take that time. Might I suggest Un’goro Crater? The mud baths are relaxing and will rejuvenate your skin. The foliage is quite breath-taking as well. Perhaps you can get yourself a new pair of devilsaur sandals while you’re there.

Nyx Gazette VI

The Dread Tower Still Beckons

It seems that Karazhan lives not by the rules that govern normal structures. Since it was cleared by our raiding forces, it would seem as though it has become reinhabitted. I asked around for information on how this could be. My search led me to Andorhol.

My contact in Andorhol was, of all things, a gnome named Chromie. She was refreshing in that she chose not to prattle on about Gnomish engineering. Instead, she calmly explained to me how Karazhan could be the way that it was.

“Time doesn’t always function properly,” she began. “In the case of Karazhan, the experiments performed by Medivh resulted in unmooring Karazhan from the regular flow of time. In fact, the tower itself has not moved in the time stream for a few years now.”

I was compelled to ask why Karazhan was not then like a sink hole, swallowing adventurers as they entered.

“Those entering Karazhan bring the time stream with them. Time flows while they are there. However, the dark tower is not fully brought into the stream. After a time, I’ve heard as long as a week, then Karazhan returns itself within a month of where it had been; sometimes forward, sometimes back.”

This seemed a bit odd to me, I asked her to explain further.

“Adventurers have reported to us that certain elements within the tower are ‘different’ when Karazhan has ‘reset’. Some researchers have looked into this, and discovered that Karazhan moves between 3 months. This is most easily demonstrated by what the Opera House is showing when entered. When we are less busy with some of our concerns at the moment, my colleagues and I will be looking more deeply into the tower.”

At this point, she became loathe to answer any further questions. My instincts bespoke that Chromie had answered all that she was willing to answer at the time, and that it was time to leave. I hope that this enlightens everyone a little more into the mysteries of Karazhan.

Awakeekielo Learns of Darkshire Hospitality

Reports have come in that Awakeekielo has been taken into Alliance custody. As my master, Bael’spar, has not yet revealed the outcome of this occurence, we can only hope that all rescue efforts are going forward successfully and that they are not harming this revered druid.

Hopefully, Gorehorn and Aitanna will have word for us on aid efforts’ success or need for more help.

Bael’spar’s Fashion and Gossip

While fashion and gossip are normally important parts of my life, it has come to my attention that a fellow Nyxer is in some personal danger. These words go to her-

Estemi, you have been a very valuable member of the guild, but if you continue on this path; I fear for your future. You have reported to us on attacks on Lady Sylvanus, Alliance doings in Shattrath, and the state of the Alliance’s sub-aquatic transportation system. It is not this that endanger you.

You have to eat something, Estemi. I know, all those Forsaken girls are able to fit into dresses that would be tight on a broom handle. It’s not worth it, though. Unless you can get the Sylvanus treatment, but then you’d have to talk with Arthas. He’s quit talking back.

So, please, I implore you, live healthy and eat healthy.

More gossip next week.

The Dread Tower is Cleansed

Last week, Nyx forces, lead by Linkan, were able to finally make the tower of Karazhan habitable once again. All of the foul beasts that had moved in were forcibly removed. This is a great accomplishment for our guild, and we hope to follow this with even greater feats.

It was also noted that Lady Nyx has taken a personal interest in the matter. A few of the raiders involved were said to have strongly felt her presence after the tower was cleansed.

The Hunt for Redflare

In the most recent Gazette, Redflare’s departure for points unknown were highlighted. However, as Aitana, Linkan, Estemi, and Bael’spar can attest; there was more than met the eye with Redflare. Plagued by inner demons, he summoned the aforementioned to enter into Stratholme. It was a trap designed by a being known as Veraliss (sp?). After the four Nyxers fought their way through the city to the outside, the Veraliss creature challenged Master Blood Knight Linkan to a duel to the finish.

“I may not have the best arms and gear,” Linkan is quoted as saying, “but I’m the best at what I do.” Indeed, he handily defeated Veraliss, allowing Redflare a moment of clarity. With his opportunity to fight off the shackles of the unknown presence, Redflare ascended into Naxrammas, where the group was unable to follow.

Through their hearthstones, Redflare was able to say good-bye before facing his own personal demon. The results of that combat are unknown, but the outlook is unfavorable.

Currently, there are plans to get a party together to either rescue or retrieve the remains of Redflare. Volunteers are sought in this effort.

In the coming weeks, there is likely to be a Remembrance for our departed friend, followed by a planning session on where to go from here.

Bael’spar’s Fashion and Gossip

I believe that my servant may be overstating the case when he suggests that Karazhan has been cleansed. As much as I like Linkan and wish him well, I am not of the opinion that he took cleaning implements or staff to clear every room. Taking time out of my busy schedule, I went to give the tower the White Glove Treatment. Imagine my surprise at seeing the outside crawling with an Alliance infestation. Surely something must be done about this shameful affair.

Oh, and Ogre loincloths are out. Really. Don’t try to fool yourself. I understand that you once saw me at a party wearing one, but that was a party. I party all the time in Razor Hill. Indeed, I do. You would too. So what if that party was yesterday, the loincloth is still out. Out, out, out, I say.

Sending Up a ‘Redflare’
In just a few short days, “Redflare” will be heading off to a place not unlike Lakeshire, but with more lake. To celebrate his entry into the service of the strange faction known as the United States Navy (sources are still unclear where this “United States” is), Redflare will be leading us through Shattrath into a night that will forever become a part of Nyx lore. Festivities to begin on Monday, February 4th, at 7-8 server time. Be prepared to be amazed.

Nyx’s Birthday Bash
Starting February 11th, we will begin the week leading up to Nyx’s second birthday with a promotion ceremony. Come see your friends and yourselves get the recognition that has been earned. Stay tuned as a week of events comes to fruition.

Arcanist Doan apprehended in Orgrimmar?

Far from the halls of the Scarlet Cathedral in distant Orgrimmar, the Scarlet Crusading Arcanist was mysteriously discovered in the Nyx library. Said this gazetteer when suddenly confronted with Doan, “Aiiieeee!!!” Before Doan could begin invoking his dark arts, a small fireball bounced from between the shelves. After his robe began to catch fire, he was immediately contained within a block of ice. 23 silver, 45 copper was spent from the guild fund to rent a shredder from Rilly Greasygob the engineer to remove the mage.

“I’m still not sure how he got here.” this gazetteer stated. Sources of the mage and the fireball are still unknown.

Source of the War
In the past few weeks, the Horde launched large attack on the major capitols of the Alliance. Nyx did their part bringing pain and suffering to the Kal’doreian city of Darnassus. The city of Elune fell beneath our blades.

Still, the real issue is what caused the action in the first place. To provide some clues, we interviewed Sculder and Mully, two proponents of the Shadowy Figure conspiracy theory. “Well, it’s simple really. Follow the money. Who earns when Darnassus burns? The smoking figure in the shadows knows. Try to get him to tell you, and you’ll only hear his lies. That my friends is the truth, and it’s out there lying in wait.” “What my partner is trying to tell you, is that we believe that someone other than Warchief Thrall had a hand in starting this. We suspect the Twilight Hammer, the Scarlet Crusade, the Agam’gor Cult, and the Explorer’s League.” “Yeah, I could never really trust a dwarf.” More as we learn better deatails.

Once Again, Bael’spar’s Fashion and Gossip
Anger is in, in, in. In repelling an Alliance attack, Lady Sylvanus never looked better as her visage darkened into a snarl of hatred. Pictographer Estemi managed to catch her in her full glory. Jewels are also in, add some power with that sparkle for the right ensemble. Kel’thas is planning something big. Many caterers have added blackout dates to their schedule to accomodate.

Gorehorn Strikes Fear into the Hearts of the Alliance

Nyx’s Gorehorn raised a small army from the Barrens to Tenaris. With them, he raged fearsome war upon any Alliance forces that dared to set foot on contested territory. Alas, I was unable to remain with them after they bodily threw the Alliance out of Splintertree Post. When questioned about his success, Gorehorn had this to say, “Waaaarrrrrrrrrgh!”

Lordaeron Broom Dueling Season is Well Underway

Broom Doom Day has came and went. Brooms were given out to the lucky winners that were able to bring to Barefoot an incredible list of ingredients. Linkan was the first to turn his in, after the complication of forgetting the live animal sacrifice. Saugnine and Graedlyndall were tied for second. Photos of the winners and the duels that were fought with enhanced brooms are in the Bard’s Chamber.

“I’ll be Back!”

The words reverberate throughout the Catacombs. Apparently one day of trouncing the Alliance is not enough for Gorehorn. He declares that the Alliance will cower in their hovels at least one day of the month. Sign up today to join forces with this brave Tauren warrior in the Catacombs.

Illidan awaits all that would dare to enter his domain. Barefoot is tracking the guilds progress toward being able to defeat him. If you are nearing that point, then post in the Catacombs what stage in the quests you are at and if you need further assistance.

Speaking of Raiding

Many go into Karazhan ill-prepared for what awaits. Not only is their equipment not up to snuff, but their vision into the process. ((Linkan has written up what he suggests as necessary addons for raiding in the Catacombs. He writes what it does for you and why that’s important for each addon. If you plan on raiding, I would give it a once over at least. Also, post questions or concerns. Some of this stuff doesn’t come naturally. I would also advise trying them in less stressful situations if you can. That way they don’t catch you by surprise if they have odd functions.))

Bael’spar’s Fashion and Gossip

While it may seem that the Festival Outfit is all the rage, carefully check the label. Unless it reads “Made by Tomoyo, Zindia, or Gohjira” then you have picked up a fake. Everyone will see that, and laugh. No one wants that. Speaking of wanting, love is blooming in the air for one of our lucky Tauren ….(Scribe’s Note – Um, while I feel that my master’s column adds to the overall feel of the Gazette, I think I have to object to this tale being printed. If Bael’spar begins to mention this, just nod and smile.) Lady Sylvanus has been taking to showering herself with snow, she’s still perfect so it must be working. Thinking of styling your way through Silvermoon on a stolen Elekk? Think again, the gases produced from one of these beasts exceed acceptable stench cloud emissions. You know who you are, leave it at home!
